Bargman Series 178 Amber Trailer Clearance Marker Light Dimensions

P2-Rated Lights

Diagram of light spread for P2 rated light

A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

I think it's a great replaced for either a missing or broken lens. You are the only on-line retailer that had replacement parts for a 25 year old RV. The first picture is of the broken lens, and the second is the replacement. The only issue is the holes were an eighth inch to narrow, so I had to drill a second hole. No issues as owning an older RV I get used to adjusting things as you go.

I replaced all 5 Clearance lights last fall. In December I noticed cracks in all. They travel in all directions. When I removed them I found water inside. No, the screws were NOT over tightened. This appears to be a manufacturing defect. The new ones were installed today 1/11/2022. When we get back from our trip we'll see if it's the last purchase. I don't blame etrailer, but if I'm not the only one with this problem I think it's time they find another manufacturer.

In a last minute decision to replace all the amber marker lights I found everyone was out of stock. Etrailer came through 2 days earlier than promised. Delivered exactly as ordered, brand, color, price. They even followed up multiple times. Great customer service. Thank you. Larry B Everett, Washington.

Was the exact replacement for my trailer's lights. Shipping cost was reasonable (unlike some online parts stores) and arrived in a decent timeframe.

These are perfect to go with my classic motorhome. Some required painting along the backer edge to match the lower portion of the motorhome, others are up high on the white, all look perfect and bright now. Heading out to a Safari Motorhome rally next week, can
t wait to show them off.

Over all they sealed well with the flush flat base, gasket included. Downside is on a motor home the fixture would have to be removed if a bulb replacement is needed. I will note I have never had bulbs in marker light fail regularly. Maybe one in the last ten years. I did have to put a small dab of clear sealant over the top of the screw head as a leak was detected. The Upside. These are solid and very good price. I would use again without thought.

Etrailer was fast and the products worked great. Thanks!

I like the quality of the products, best i found, availability good, shipping good, like the way it was handled

Perfect, was exactly what I needed to replace my clearance light assembly with a cracked lens. Great quality and perfect fit. Thanks to for a fast, hassle free can't beat the price transaction!

After a year in the Las Vegas sun, Still like new!

Great shopping experience with e trailer tanks to the team

We recently purchased a 2005 Fleetwood trailer. The previous owner had spray painted some areas on the siding and the overspray was apparent on the clearance lights. The prices on the etrailer website were very reasonable and consequently I ordered new lights and replaced all of them. Easy to install and looks like a new trailer! Very happy with the purchase. Thank you

Smooth transaction with fast shipping. I received exactly what I expected, no surprises.

I was looking for replacement lenses for my 2011 Interstate enclosed trailer due to them being faded and cracked. These lights were the exact ones that were originally installed on the trailer. This item comes with the wire harness, socket and a 194 incandescent bulb. The video on the website was very helpful and shipping was fast. Thanks etrailer!

I bought enough of these to replace all the ones on my class c motorhome clearance lights. They were a perfect fit and after one year still look new!
Great pricing and excellent customer service / support from eTrailer!

This is a replacement marker light for one of my trailers.
It is exact to the existing part and was an easy replace.

Delivered on time
And we're good to

Disappointed at how easy it is to pop the sealed lens off the base when installing and tightening the screws. Maybe using the optional foam gasket allows over tightening. Installed 7 and popped the lens of 1.

Matt, thanks for your honest feedback - this is unusual for these lights and we have forwarded your comments to our customer service team for further investigation.

Haven’t lost one on the highway yet which is surprising since one of them has a friction fit only with the lens.
Matt W - 10/26/2017

The parts arrived on time and in excellent condition. Thank you etrailer. I find your photos and videos very helpful.

Perfect replacement light on my Carson Toyhauler...
I would be out of luck as my rig is a 2007 but these guys had an exact match on my side marker light..Thank you etrailer!

Perfect product, price, speed of delive ry

Bought replacement Bargman clearance lights and gaskets over a year ago and have had no issues with them. They were a exact fit and were of excellent quality! I would definitely buy these again if I were to need them.
AND, you can't beat the prices OR GREAT service from!!!

The clearance lights have been on my coach for one year now and are still working and look great. The lights are a replacement for the original lights and are a perfect fit. The order was received on the day that it was scheduled to arrive. We are very happy with the service and the product.

Found exactly what was needed to replace the running lights on my '97 RV. Amazed at the ease that I found the exact lights on-line once I found etrailer.
I prefer to provide credit card info on-line so I called and was greeted by a person, wrote the name down but misplaced it, who was extremely knowledgable and competent. Doesn't happen that often!
Ordered 3 the first time, sceptical that they were the right ones. On arrival, perfect fit!
That was so easy, I ordered the last two and am now a well lit camper. Thanks, etrailer!

Exact replacement for my cracked RV marker lights that just cracked due to age, didn't need the additional light sockets, but couldn't find just a lens replacement. Good price here at etrailer. Thanks

Bought this really with the hope of just using the amber lens and having a spare bulb, but the lens is not detachable from the housing, and my campers marker lights are riveted on, not screwed on so I can swap it out. Low price though!

  • Mounting Hole Spacing on Bargman Trailer Clearance Light # 30-17-815
I went out to the warehouse and pulled light # 30-17-815 to measure it for you. The distance between the mounting holes is 3 inches on center.

  • Changing the Light Bulb on a Grommet Style Trailer Light
First, you have to make sure that the bulb in the light is actually replaceable. Some are not and trying to remove the bulb will damage the mount it is attached to. If the light is like # 30-17-815 then you would rotate the grommet at the back and pull out the assembly. If the bulb used is a wedge style and replaceable you should just have to pull it out. If it is a bayonet style (old school bulb) then you would have to push in and turn the bulb to remove it. If access to the back of...

  • Does Bargman Trailer Clearance Light 30-17-815 Include Foam Gasket?
I would be happy to help! The Bargman Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light w/ Reflector - Incandescent - White Base - Amber Lens # 30-17-815 you were looking at does not include the foam gasket to go between the light and the trailer, but you can add one by using the Replacement Foam Gasket for #178 Clearance Lights # 30-17-034. I included a video of the # 30-17-815 for you to take a look at.

To replace the bulb of a Bargman Clearance 178 light like part # 30-17-815 you would just need to turn the black rubber socket in the base of the light so that it can be removed. The correct replacement bulb would be the part # A194B.

  • Are Replacement Lenses Available for Bargman Series #178 Lights
I spoke with my contact at Bargman and the lenses on the Series #178 lights, # 30-17-814, # 30-17-815, # 34-17-808, and # 34-17-809, are not meant to be removed so instead they make their lights very economically priced so that the entire unit can be replaced. Replacement lenses for these Bargman lights are not available. If you would like to go with a unit that has replacement lenses available, the Optronics Rectangular Trailer Side Marker Light, # MC32AB and # MC32RB, would be a great...

  • How to Wire a Trailer for Tail Lights
First, lets make sure you have all of the parts you need to wire a trailer for lights. If you have an old trailer and want to replace everything, I recommend using a kit like our Optronics Tail Light Kit, # TL29BK and our trailer wiring installation kit # HM51020. We also have an LED kit, # TLL9RK. Step 1 - The trailer connector should extend 2 - 3 feet past the tongue. Attach the ground wire directly to the tongue of the trailer using a self tapping screw # 101131802 and a ring terminal...
