Today we're going to be taking a look at the rear hanger for double-eye springs. This hanger provides the attachment point for a leaf spring. The hanger suspends the spring from the trailer frame using shackle straps. Shackle straps are sold separately. Basically the way this would work this would get welded to the frame of the trailer and you don't actually connect your spring directly to this hanger. Shackle straps would need to be used on each side just like this.
They line up with these holes. They mount with hardware, if not included needs to be provided separately. Then your spring would actually mount here at the shackle straps. This is configured for use as a rear hanger. Now, if you're in need of any hardware or a front hanger or shackle straps, you can find all of that stuff at etrailer.com. One hanger is included.
It's made from a steel construction with a raw finish. This is designed to be welded to the trailer. You will notice two holes at the top of the hanger. These holes are not for a bolt-on installation. These are actually there if the installer wants to do a button weld instead of or in addition to welding the outside of the hanger. This hanger's gonna offer a height of an inch and a quarter.
That measurement's taken from the center of the mount hole to the top of the hanger. If we do that you can see that that measures right on an inch and a quarter. It is designed to fit 1 3/4 inch wide double-eye springs with 9/16 inch diameter eyes and again you will need to use shackle straps. It's gonna work with a 9/16 inch diameter bolt. That's sold separately as well.
Overall length measurement from edge to edge is gonna measure 3 inches. External width about 1 7/8. Internal width is going to be about 1 7/16 of an inch. Overall height, very top to very bottom is going to be about 2 1/4 inches. Then all the holes on this unit are going to have a diameter of 9/16 of an inch. That's gonna do it for today's look at the rear hanger for double-eye springs.
