Video Transcript for etrailer Trailer Suspension 115052 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at a replacement shackle strap. A shackle strap connects a double aisle leaf spring to a hangar of a single-axle trailer or to an equalizer of a multi-axle trailer. It's going to allow the necessary pivot of the springs to occur for an evenly distributed load between the axles, and also a smooth ride for the trailer. This part number is good for one shackle strap. If we take a measurement, the distance that we have from the center of one hole to the center of the other, that's going to give us the measurement of 2-5/8". Overall length, edge to edge, is around 4".

Overall width from edge to edge is going to give us a measurement of about 1-1/4". The hole diameters, that's going to be 9/16". You can see it's made from a nice durable steel construction. That's going to do it for today's look at the replacement shackle strap.

The delivery was prompt and right on schedule. The shackles are very sturdy. Only one problem- one of the 9/16 inch lock nuts was not a lock nut. It was a regular 9/16 inch bolt. Good thing, I caught the mistake during installation or this could have been a real problem "down the road". I would have rated the product and the service excellent, if the nut issue had not been present. 128510

When ordering, the descriptions plus dimensions helped a lot. Pictures of everything was great! Knew exactly what I was ordering. Delivery was right on time and the parts were good quality. I was in a hurry to do these repairs so we could take our trailer on a trip. It was a pleasure to do business with e-trailer! Thank you! 300566

I am impressed with your online catalog. I have a custom built single axle 3.5 ton tilt deck equipment trailer. I acquired this trailer when I purchased a ranch home 15 years ago. I have no idea how old it is so when I needed suspension parts, the kits offered for a 3.5 ton axle didn’t match what is on this trailer. Thanks to your product specific videos, I was able to piece together the exact part I needed by dimension. I also can’t find a “made in China” on any of the packages so that a good thing. 665355

This part forms the links for connecting 1-3/4" springs with 9/16" shackle bolts to, in my case, an equalizer bar. They appear to be 'stamped', perfectly formed and uniform in size and shape with no evident flaws of any kind. I am completely satisfied with them. 643433

I live 2 miles from the ocean in coastal SC. I have two work trailers and one, if not both are used every day. The salt water takes it's toll on trailer parts. This is the 2nd spring set I've purchased from etrailer. Both times I was very pleased with the ease of the web site, my contact with their customer service was excellent and all the parts arrive very quickly, fit exactly and were priced fairly. Good CS, good parts and good price, what more can you ask for. If I need trailer parts again I WILL come back to etrailer. 548091

I use my bumper pull tandem flatbed trailer a lot and have had to replace shackle straps, equalizer and bushings twice with it being less than 10 years old. This last time I took advice from a customer that had doubled the shackle straps and used longer bolts in shackle and spring eye. After a year, there is no visible wear yet so thinking this is an easy way to get more life when rebuilding. 468142

Well, I just got the parts, so can't say anything reliable on chinese made parts. The price was(is) Great! a boat load cheaper then the local store....humm. springs fit perfectly, however, the springs I wanted are no longer being offered, could of had springs made but I went with the less$isMore theory. (more in my pocket) The "white" nylon bushings I ordered would not fit into the equalizers, but the grey colored ones I had did fit perfectly, just a-hair difference in outer diameter. The bolts fit perfectly as well. It is always 10 times easier dealing with eTrailer then the local store, So I know eTrailer has put a lot of time into making it easy for their customers, Thanks! Very Fast shipping, all at a price I can afford! 352277

I ordered wheel studs, shackle straps, and nuts to replace rusty components on my trailer. These are additional parts after ordering new trailer springs from etrailer earlier. Everything fit up great, and now both my axles support the trailer. Yay! Thanks to Etrailer for having all this stuff for quick delivery, and it saves a ton over the local shop. 331156

  • Equalizer Kit Replacement Recommendation for Equalizers that are 7-1/2 inches Long
  • Since your equalizers are longer than what we have kits for you'll need to piece the kit together you'd need to replace the equalizers, bolts, shackles, and nuts. For the equalizer you'd need to start with the part # TREQE1, then for bolts I'd recommend the wet bolts part # 126B2, for shackles you'd want the part # 115052 which are 2-5/8 inches long.
