2" Long shackle link connects double-eye leaf spring to the rear hanger or equalizer on trailer suspension systems. Shackling the 2 components together instead of bolting them directly allows for the necessary pivot of the springs.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Shackle Strap that measures 2" long. This shackle strap connects a double-eyed spring to a rear hanger on a single-axle trailer or to an equalizer on a multi-axle trailer. The link or the shackle allows the appropriate movement to take place. It's made from a durable steel construction with protective finishing to keep it safe from rust and corrosion.Now, the shackle length is measured from the center of one hole to the center of the other hole, so if we take a measurement of that, that's where we get our 2" measurement from. When it comes to the overall measurements, edge-to-edge going in this direction, we're looking at about 3-1/4" long by 1-1/4" wide by 3/16" thick, and then the bolt hole diameter is 9/16" of an inch. That's going to do it for today's look at the Shackle Strap that measures 2" long..

Well, my suspension replacement and over/under swap went great! You guys were very helpful in ensuring I got the right parts and didn't waste money on shipping and other parts I didn't need. It tows like a dream now. I hardly even notice it behind me and I really don't have to slow down to .05 MPH for every little dip in the road.

The size is as indicated and the hole diameters are of proper specifications as listed. The only thing about these shackle links or straps, is that they are not made of as hard of steel as the originals were. The price is very reasonable, but I'm unsure of the durability of these, because of the lower steel hardness. These are for a double axle 16 foot long utility trailer. Time will tell if they hold up without the holes quickly becoming elongated and deformed.

Unfortunately I received a torn padded envelope with nothing in it. The post office marked it as Received w/o contents. I called the 800 number and spoke with Josh. He was excellent and immediately offered to ship the product again as soon as he had it back in stock. I’m hopeful.

The longer straps will likely mean they will be at a steeper angle once installed and that could affect the travel of the suspension. I do recommend not chancing it and go ahead and get the correct shackle straps # TRSL200.
