Absorbs Road Shock and Reduces Chucking

Upgrade your trailer's suspension for a smoother ride with these cushioned Equa-Flex equalizers. These units deliver a ride as smooth as you'd get with torsion axles, but at a fraction of the cost. The rubber cores effectively absorb vibrations and bumps and reduce the back-and-forth movement known as chucking. Unlike standard cast equalizers, the Equa-Flex's rubber cores soak up this energy like a sponge instead of transferring it to your trailer and cargo. The result is a more comfortable ride with less wear and tear on your trailer.

Easy Installation

Illustration of a triple axle trailer suspension system

It's easy to upgrade your trailer's standard suspension with a set of cushioned Equa-Flex equalizers. You will need 18 wet suspension bolts and 12 shackle straps (both sold separately) to incorporate the equalizers into your trailer's suspension system. Four of the suspension bolts will be used to suspend the equalizers from the center hangers, and the other 12 bolts will be used with the shackle straps to attach the equalizers to the double-eye leaf springs. If you would like to replace the bolts that attach the springs to your front and rear hangers as well, you will need 4 additional suspension bolts (sold separately).

Very easy install—removed wheel on rear axle and plenary of area to work. Reused hangers and bolts. Installed in about 90 minutes. Looking forward to seeing the difference in handling

This was a great upgrade. I installed myself, the only issue I had was getting them lined up with the leaf spring. However, I got it figured out and the opposite side went much faster. I think the trailer pulls much better and you don't get the bounce after hitting a bump, RR tracks etc.. Glad that I made this upgrade. If I had one negative, it would be the packaging, the powder coat on one was scratched through.

Review from a similar Equa-Flex in Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension

I bought these to replace the worn-out ones I had on my trailer. It was approximately two hours install per side. I purchased all new standard bolts with never fail bushings along with all new straps. I was told I could replace the brass bushings with never fail bushings when I purchased the set. When I received equa-flex equalizers I noticed they all had pressed in brass bushings so I was not able to use the never fail bushings. I had to go down to the local trailer store to to purchase six wet bolts. All in all I am happy I just have six extra bolts and six extra never fail bushings.

First I must say what great customer service I received when I called to order the Equa-flex for my trailer. I talked to Rose in sales and she helped me pick the right suspension enhancements for my trailer. I installed the Equa-flex 5-6k and the Dexter heavy duty shackle kit on my 30' 2016 Forrest River Wildwood. The kit and the instructions were easy to read and understand. The kit is definitely an upgrade over the stock suspension, just look as t the pictures I provided. The trailer rides smooth and handles great. I will be installing the Equa-flex kit and shackle kik it on my Dads trailer this year. Thanks Etrailer for your great products and customer service.

Easy to install, soft brake action eliminated the pivot flip. Highly recommend them. Buy the grease zert bolts and zero issues for as long as you own the trailer

Great product. My camper came with these when I purchased it new in 2012. I had a leaf spring break on our last trip and decided to replace the equalizers while replacing the springs. They do a great job with absorbing shock from rough roads which improves handling and track of the camper. I recommend this product and I recommend etrailer.com. Prices and selection are good and the fast, free shipping is definitely a huge plus. Attached are photos of the installation which include pics of the old ones that I replaced.

Review from a similar Equa-Flex in Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension

Had to replace original tandem axle equalizers due to failure on my 26 foot fifth wheel trailer. (See picture of broken equalizer below) This was an exact replacement with kit LC 1594011, and never fail tandem axle suspension kit LC 81285. This is a very straight forward easy installation, the hardest part of which is jacking and blocking the trailer up to get the weight off the axles. Once the tires are off and the trailer is blocked up the axles move fairly easily to expedite installation of the new tandem equalizers.

Received the equalizer a little after lunch today. Had the passenger side of the trailer done in about an hour after some choice words getting the old one off. Putting this in was simple, and should make a good ride and stop wearing my tire out.

Review from a similar Equa-Flex in Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension

I bought these to replace the original worn out Equa-flex kit on my triple axle toyhauler. My camper is a 2013 model, and all the rubber components were cracked and had lost quite a bit of their elasticity. This kit was a perfect bolt in replacement. Though the kit arrived with some cosmetic blemishes, the quality was better than I expected. The equalizers come with bronze bushings in all but two of the spring eye positions. The bushing were tight, and my new bolts needed to be tapped in. The equalizers fit perfectly with all my suspension components, and all dimensions were correct. I will be paying more attention to my suspension from now on, and hope to get many more years out of these new equalizers.

I received my Equa-flex cushioned equalizers along with the Never-Fail bushing kit both by Lippert. I did take delivery as projected by etrailer and have had them installed on my 5th wheel. So far, they are performing well and have given me peace of mind as we prepare to embark on a 10 - 15K trip to the west and northwest U.S. from Florida. etrailer services and tech center were excellent. Cathy T.is exceptional!

I installed them this spring, here are a few pictures. I also installed all new bushings and greasable pins. It was a good thing I replaced these as the center bushing on my old equalizers were broken. The new equilizers are a couple inches taller than the old one, raise my trailer over an inch. This worked well as my new truck is higher than my old one.

After 10 years of wear and tear it was time to replace my equaflex system. As always etrailer staff was very helpful getting me the correct replacement parts and any upgrade parts I had questions about. Shipping was fast and the package came in damage free. Installation was a breeze and straight forward. I also added wet bolts to the spring hangers and shackles. A very good upgrade for most RV suspensions. Very satisfied customer and etrailer is definitely my go-to company.

Comments
1 year after installing and roughly 18,000 miles everything is working great. No sign of wear. Great product. Definitely recommend this upgrade for those that have the stock equalizers.

Ordering was easy and pain free. Shipping happened fast and the tracking was excellent. The correct parts arrived. It will be a few weeks before the parts are installed so I cannot rate them as to performance but when I do it will not have any bearing on the performance of etrailer.com as they did not make or brand them.

Review from a similar Equa-Flex in Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension

I watched the video, compared to other options, and chose this item. Install was fast once lined up. Test drive was great- took my 26' travel trailer over a pretty bad road. Road effect was less, my pickup jumped around less, and my neck is thankful. This equalizer replaced a Dexter Axle 13-142. Although the measurements are not exact as the original, the fit was fine and gives me approx one extra inch of tire to fender clearance.

Comments
I still think it is a good product. We did our five weeks through multiple states, still working good. I wish it had been stock when we got the trailer. Whenever I replace my trailer, Ill add this as one of the first tweaks I do to it.

Review from a similar Equa-Flex in Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension

I purchased this product to upgrade my suspension on a brand new travel trailer that I was going to pull to Alaska. I had heard that the roads could be a bit rough and hard on trailer suspensions and did not want to break anything because of the relative inflexibility of the stock system. The product was super easy to install, but I ended up using the longer shackle brackets that were in the suspension upgrade I purchased because I could not get the stock length brackets to line up correctly with the leaf springs. This resulted in a lot more suspension travel than I was anticipating, but seemed to do no harm as a result. The trailer pulled wonderfully all the way to Alaska and back, and did not result in any major upheavals within the trailer. The extra flexibility in the suspension did make it a bit trickier to level the trailer however, requiring greater block thickness on the side that needed to be raised. But ultimately this was no big deal. Ultimately I can only imagine how the stock system would have performed, and my imagination suggests that it would have not been a pretty sight inside the trailer.

Worthy upgrade from the stock factory Equalizers, I have a much improved ride it is smother less bounce and jerkiness. Install was straight forward remove the bolts holding the old equalizers on just make sure you have a couple of jacks and jack stands as I needed to tease the springs back into place. Use the jack stands to hold up the trailer and jacks to move the axle and spring into proper alignment with the new equalizers. The fit isn't the same as the old ones I had but more then easy to get the bolt holes to line up. Also don't be surprised the factory bushings are worn out, replaced mine with brass bushings and they can be greased.

They work as described............ Planned on installing "Never Fail Bushing" in place of the Bronze factory installed ones...............NOT POSSIBLE. The inside diameter of the bushing hole is undersized and not 11/16"............ Kind of disappointing. What do I do later when the Bronze bushings wear out??? Buy another set of equalizers??

Comments
Leroy,I contacted Lippert and it is possible to change out the integrated bronze bushings for never fail bushings on the sides of the equalizer. The original bushings can be switched out for 11/16 bushings.

  • Best Suspension Upgrade for Keystone Raptor 3712 Toy Hauler Triple Axle
The Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers part # LC279689 is the best suspension upgrade option for a Keystone Raptor 3712 Toy Hauler and what I recommend that you use as it will be a direct fit replacement. The Equa-Flex is pretty much the same thing as the Road Armor which is only for tandem axle trailers. • Determining Correct Replacement Equalizers For Triple Axle Trailer
There are trailers that leave the factory with different axle spacing, so I wouldn't worry too much about the difference. Yes! There are a few options and which set fits will depend on the measurements of your existing equalizers. If the eye center to eye center on your equalizers is 5-1/4 to 6-1/4 inches with a height from the top center hole to the eye center holes of around 2 inches then you can use # K71-652-00. If your equalizer length measurement is 7-1/4 to 8-1/4 inches then you can use # K71-653-00. If your equalizers are 7-1/2 inches long with a height of around 5 inches you can use # LC279688. • Which Equa Flex Kit is Designed for a Triple Axle Trailer with 7k Axles
The issue is that when you add an axle to a trailer you have to move all of the axles to allow the axles to sit in the correct spot. Otherwise you'll have ride issues. So your current center hanger location for your tandem setup would become the location for the middle axle center. The Equa Flex kit you'd need for a 7k, triple axle setup is the part # LC279689. I wouldn't recommend having Equa Flex equalizers for the front two axles but not the third one.

  • Could Having Different Axle Spacings on Trailer Contribute to Leaf Spring Failure
Uneven axle spacing isn't a great sign and most likely is related to the issue. If the leaf springs are the same length and the hangers are spaced differently that would not be the safest setup though and it would be wise to move the hangers to allow you to have even axle spacings. To prevent leaf springs from braking best option is to make sure you aren't overloading the springs that are installed and that all of the suspension components are installed properly in the correct locations....
