Absorbs Road Shock and Reduces Chucking

Upgrade your trailer's suspension for a smoother ride with these cushioned Equa-Flex equalizers. These units deliver a ride as smooth as you'd get with torsion axles, but at a fraction of the cost. The rubber cores effectively absorb vibrations and bumps and reduce the back-and-forth movement known as chucking. Unlike standard cast equalizers, the Equa-Flex's rubber cores soak up this energy like a sponge instead of transferring it to your trailer and cargo. The result is a more comfortable ride with less wear and tear on your trailer.

Easy Installation

Illustration of a triple axle trailer suspension system

It's easy to upgrade your trailer's standard suspension with a set of cushioned Equa-Flex equalizers. You will need 18 wet suspension bolts and 12 shackle straps (both sold separately) to incorporate the equalizers into your trailer's suspension system. Four of the suspension bolts will be used to suspend the equalizers from the center hangers, and the other 12 bolts will be used with the shackle straps to attach the equalizers to the double-eye leaf springs. If you would like to replace the bolts that attach the springs to your front and rear hangers as well, you will need 4 additional suspension bolts (sold separately).

These equalizers look well built. I will be installing them in a month. My old ones had welds broken. So far very happy. Price was very good. Will take pictures when installed 737335

She was very knowledgeable and everything that we needed to replace the springs on our trailer and recommended items that we would need to make our installation perfect! Thank you so much for being available. We will definitely recommend etrailer to our friends and family. 474749

Worthy upgrade from the stock factory Equalizers, I have a much improved ride it is smother less bounce and jerkiness. Install was straight forward remove the bolts holding the old equalizers on just make sure you have a couple of jacks and jack stands as I needed to tease the springs back into place. Use the jack stands to hold up the trailer and jacks to move the axle and spring into proper alignment with the new equalizers. The fit isn't the same as the old ones I had but more then easy to get the bolt holes to line up. Also don't be surprised the factory bushings are worn out, replaced mine with brass bushings and they can be greased. 574906

Great product, great company to deal with. Install was a little challenging but worth it I hope. Took trailer for a test run after install, trailer rode smoother. The only thing i could add would be, if I have 2-1/4” shackle plates I don’t need the 3-1/4” plates, maybe reduce the cost a little. 492572

After 10 years of wear and tear it was time to replace my equaflex system. As always etrailer staff was very helpful getting me the correct replacement parts and any upgrade parts I had questions about. Shipping was fast and the package came in damage free. Installation was a breeze and straight forward. I also added wet bolts to the spring hangers and shackles. A very good upgrade for most RV suspensions. Very satisfied customer and etrailer is definitely my go-to company. 576018

1 year after installing and roughly 18,000 miles everything is working great. No sign of wear. Great product. Definitely recommend this upgrade for those that have the stock equalizers.

I was somewhat surprised that the item already had scratches on it like someone had tried to install them before. Otherwise I’m looking forward to using them on my next trip. 539475

Etrailer is definitely the company to order from--best prices, fast shipping, and courteous service. We have no option other than to use this Lippert part on our fifth-wheel and replace it every other year because we travel so many miles. Will definitely continue to order from Etrailer. 192532

Worked great. Not sure if lube needed on bushings. Seams the requirements for lube leaves customer wondering. I put some on anyway. Standard bolts. Thankyou for prompt shipping. 435756

Received the equalizer a little after lunch today. Had the passenger side of the trailer done in about an hour after some choice words getting the old one off. Putting this in was simple, and should make a good ride and stop wearing my tire out. 327087

I upgraded to the 6-8000 lbs. Equlizers on my 2014 Redwood fifth wheel . I have had 2 leaf springs break within 2 months . I did some reasearch and found an issue with the shackle bushings failing so I also went with the heavy duty wet bolt kit. Included is a video of the equlizers doing their job. 516452

Product arrived on time and in good condition. Installation is no problem, took about 2 hours. Test drove unit about 30 miles after installation. Must drive more miles before I can rate performance of the product. 469210

Review from a similar Lippert Components Equa-Flex in Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension

I purchased this product to upgrade my suspension on a brand new travel trailer that I was going to pull to Alaska. I had heard that the roads could be a bit rough and hard on trailer suspensions and did not want to break anything because of the relative inflexibility of the stock system. The product was super easy to install, but I ended up using the longer shackle brackets that were in the suspension upgrade I purchased because I could not get the stock length brackets to line up correctly with the leaf springs. This resulted in a lot more suspension travel than I was anticipating, but seemed to do no harm as a result. The trailer pulled wonderfully all the way to Alaska and back, and did not result in any major upheavals within the trailer. The extra flexibility in the suspension did make it a bit trickier to level the trailer however, requiring greater block thickness on the side that needed to be raised. But ultimately this was no big deal. Ultimately I can only imagine how the stock system would have performed, and my imagination suggests that it would have not been a pretty sight inside the trailer. 694384

They work as described............ Planned on installing "Never Fail Bushing" in place of the Bronze factory installed ones...............NOT POSSIBLE. The inside diameter of the bushing hole is undersized and not 11/16"............ Kind of disappointing. What do I do later when the Bronze bushings wear out??? Buy another set of equalizers?? 450796

Comments
Leroy,I contacted Lippert and it is possible to change out the integrated bronze bushings for never fail bushings on the sides of the equalizer. The original bushings can be switched out for 11/16 bushings.

I bought these to replace the worn-out ones I had on my trailer. It was approximately two hours install per side. I purchased all new standard bolts with never fail bushings along with all new straps. I was told I could replace the brass bushings with never fail bushings when I purchased the set. When I received equa-flex equalizers I noticed they all had pressed in brass bushings so I was not able to use the never fail bushings. I had to go down to the local trailer store to to purchase six wet bolts. All in all I am happy I just have six extra bolts and six extra never fail bushings. 445546

Fast Free shipping arrived as stated. Best price. Replaced 10 year old Equa Flex. The rubber was cracked and compressed. Installation was simple. Came with bronze bushings. The Box it came in had other items and was very heavy causing the box to break down. 564793

The product is amazing; however, the kit didn’t come with the Stover Nuts to put it all together. I’ve had the kit for a year and just installed it last weekend and noticed it came with no nuts.???? And trying to find 7/16 x 20 Stover Nuts is almost impossible...but I did. I would recommend a little better quality control on the items required to be in the box. I no longer need them since I’ve already purchased them from another source. 650407

Just to say shipping was great and fast, install took place several days later and that went very well also. Plans are to try out the new install in the coming weeks, I see no problems, very satisfied from cost to install even with age and fiscal handicaps. Thanks etrailer for appears to be a solid design product. I would recommend this product over a flex design after 4 years needed replacement. 612517

Review from a similar Lippert Components Equa-Flex in Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension

I bought these to replace the original worn out Equa-flex kit on my triple axle toyhauler. My camper is a 2013 model, and all the rubber components were cracked and had lost quite a bit of their elasticity. This kit was a perfect bolt in replacement. Though the kit arrived with some cosmetic blemishes, the quality was better than I expected. The equalizers come with bronze bushings in all but two of the spring eye positions. The bushing were tight, and my new bolts needed to be tapped in. The equalizers fit perfectly with all my suspension components, and all dimensions were correct. I will be paying more attention to my suspension from now on, and hope to get many more years out of these new equalizers. 302117

Yes! There are a few options and which set fits will depend on the measurements of your existing equalizers. If the eye center to eye center on your equalizers is 5-1/4 to 6-1/4 inches with a height from the top center hole to the eye center holes of around 2 inches then you can use # K71-652-00. If your equalizer length measurement is 7-1/4 to 8-1/4 inches then you can use # K71-653-00. If your equalizers are 7-1/2 inches long with a height of around 5 inches you can use # LC279688. • Could Having Different Axle Spacings on Trailer Contribute to Leaf Spring Failure
Uneven axle spacing isn't a great sign and most likely is related to the issue. If the leaf springs are the same length and the hangers are spaced differently that would not be the safest setup though and it would be wise to move the hangers to allow you to have even axle spacings. To prevent leaf springs from braking best option is to make sure you aren't overloading the springs that are installed and that all of the suspension components are installed properly in the correct locations....

  • Which Equa Flex Kit is Designed for a Triple Axle Trailer with 7k Axles
The issue is that when you add an axle to a trailer you have to move all of the axles to allow the axles to sit in the correct spot. Otherwise you'll have ride issues. So your current center hanger location for your tandem setup would become the location for the middle axle center. The Equa Flex kit you'd need for a 7k, triple axle setup is the part # LC279689. I wouldn't recommend having Equa Flex equalizers for the front two axles but not the third one.
