If you will be using this landing gear to lift and lower your trailer onto a hitch ball or kingpin, then you should choose the jack you need based on its lift capacity. But, if you are just using it to stabilize or support a parked trailer, then you should focus on the jack's support capacity.
Heavy-duty jacks like this one stabilize about 25% of your trailer's total weight when it's loaded up. For example, a 50,000-lb trailer has a pin weight of about 12,500 lbs. For these legs to work, you'd need a set of landing gear with a combined lift capacity of no less than 12,500 lbs. If you only have one jack that can get the job done, that's great! In fact, this should work more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking.
Note: Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer during tire changes or service work, because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing gear.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Pro Series Square Jack. It does come with a drop leg and non spring return. The sturdy steal construction provides heavy duty durability. It's going to feature a weather resistant inner and outer tubes that feature a black paint finish. The drop leg again, it's included, has non spring return. That's really going to help increase overall extension for maximum adjustability.
You can see here that this right here is our plunger pan. That's going to be positioned to the side for easy access and it's going to feature a five-hole design on that drop leg and those holes are separated on center by three and three eight-seven inch. To pull it you just grab that handle. Nice, easy-grip design. Pull it out to the side, rotate it and that's going to be held in the position and then that's going to allow you to adjust it so there you can see four holes and then the fifth hole is actually right up here under this collar. Then when you're ready to engage in the hole, grab the handle, rotate it and then you allow that to engage inside the adjustment hole. This is a direct weld 00:01:00 design.
It does offer grease zerks here. You're going to have a zerk fitting here and right here. It's going to allow for easy maintenance. That way you can just hook up a grease gun and pop in the grease as needed to lubricate those internal components. It's going to come with the sidewind crank handle.
This end right here, this is where you grab on to it. It does rotate so that's very easy to use, very nice, smooth functioning. You can grab that and just rotate it. This can be positioned on either side of the jack. That's included and it's going to come with the necessary hardware to get that attached and it's going to come with the weld-on bracket that can be welded to the application.
That's going to secure the handle in this position here when the handle is not being used. Also at the base it's going to feature the integrated footplate. Footplate is really going to help spread out the applied weight and it's going to help prevent sinking on softer surfaces. That footplate has a nice large design to it. That's going to give us a measurement of eight inches by eight and a half inches. Few other measurements that I want to mention for you real quick. The overall height that we have with the jack in the fully retracted position, measuring from the base to this portion here. It's going to be about 28 and one quarter inches. This is going to offer a lift or travel of 12 and a half inches so you extend this out you rotate the handle, extend the jack, it's going to raise it up an additional 12 and a half inches. Then that drop leg is going to offer an additional 1three and a half inches of travel which gives it an overall height of 54 and one quarter inches when fully extended. That's going to give it a full travel or a lift measurement of around 26 inches. This has a lift capacity of ten thousand pounds, static capacity of 12 thousand pounds. The outer tube, right here, that's going to measure four inches by four inches. That inner tube is going to measure three and a half inches by three and a half inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Pro Series Square Jack with the drop leg with non spring return.

The jacks we bought work very well to hold up the front end of our livestock trailer when not being used.
It works great. It was far more less expensive than anything you can buy from a retailer even Harbor Freight or Northern Tool. Don't know how I did without it before buying it.

great jack just wise it was spring loaded but otherwise am very happy with it
These jacks are very heavy. My plan is to fasten 2 of them to my boat lift. Put a wheel on them and then roll the lift out into the water
