The Side-Pin Heavy Duty Square Jack from Buyers Products features a spring-return drop leg that allows easier expanding and retracting. The spring return is activated by pulling a sturdy side-mounted pin to drop the leg. Ideal for RVs, construction trailers and triaxle trailers, each jack has a 10,000 lb (dynamic) and 12,000 lb (static) capacity. The 4" square tube features a weather-resistant black powder coated finish, and includes a footpad.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Heavy Duty Four-Inch Square Jack with the side-pin drop leg. Now the side-pin heavy duty square jack features a spring return drop leg that allows easier expanding and retracting. So the spring return is activated by pulling this sturdy side mounted pin to drop or extend the leg. It's a really nice design. It's also how you retract it, so when you're ready to retract it, you pull this, and the leg will go back up into the outer tubes here. Keep your hands clear when you do that, because it is spring return, so that will engage very, very quickly.Now this type of jack is ideal for RV's, construction trailers and tri-axle trailers.
This jack has a 10,000 pound dynamic, and 12,000 pound static capacity. The four inch square tube features a weather resistant black powder coated finish, and it includes the foot pad here at the base. Now the foot pads really help distribute weight, so they help spread out weight, which is really helpful, especially on softer surfaces. So if you're working on sand, gravel, grass, soil, anything like that, the foot plates come in handy, so it's a nice design. It's welded on to the bottom of this most inner tube right here.The unit's made from steel.
Again, it features that durable powder coated finish on it to resist rust and corrosion. The foot pad measures eight inches by eight and a half inches. We're looking at carbon steel construction. It does come with the handle, so this handle allows you to easily operate the jack. I just have the hardware loosely installed, so you would definitely want to tighten that down for your application, but I just have it it in there to show that the handle's included.
The attachment hardware is included, and the weld-on handle bracket, that's included as well. That holds your handle safely out of the way when the jack's not being used.You'll notice that right here we have two grease zerks. These allow for easy maintenance, so you can attach a grease gun to these, pump in the grease and it keeps those internal components lubricated as needed. I'm just going to spin it around here, show you that there's really nothing special about this side of the jack. Really simple design.Now a few measurements I want to go over with you real quick.
Retracted it measures around 28 inches from top to bottom, so if this is in the fully retracted position from bottom to top, measures around 28 inches. Extended, but not with the drop leg extended, so just using the handle to full extend, that increases the bottom to top measurement to about 40 and a half inches, which gives us a jack travel of 12 and a half inches, and then the drop leg, located right here, it has actually five adjustment holes. I just had one in the third one, but it has five adjustment holes, which offers an additional 13 and a half inches of travel. So the five adjustment holes are separated on center by three and three-eighths inches. That's going to be your incremental height adjustment when using the drop leg, so the total amount of travel possible with this jack is 26 inches.That's going to do it for today's look at the Heavy Duty Four-Inch Square Jack with the side-pin drop leg.

When I purchased this leg I planned on replacing them as a set. I could not find the same leg that was reversed for the passenger side. Although the legs work perfectly and I love the retractable spring action. You will definitely need to know how to weld, flip the gear inside and have a drill and tap for new grease fitting location. I installed them so the release pins were on the outside.
Awesome jack. Put this jack on my travel trailer and works so much better then the standard jack thrry come with.
The product is great but arrived in packaging that did not properly protect the jack. The box was torn and the jack itself had some deep scratches and missing paint

Heavy Duty trailer Jack works and functions as described. etrailer was quick to get it out. Seems well made and should last many years.
Was very good value for the money. Used on my trailer that carries a 8k pound excavator. There was not a lot of grease in the top, so I opened the lid and put a BUNCH more in. I expect this to last a very long time.
Two recommendations if you need a new trailer tongue jack:
1) My trailer had a 5k lb jack on it before, which was technically enough because it only had maybe 2500lbs tongue weight... but it was absolutely a nightmare to use because of the weight and felt flimsy, go bigger, you wont regret it.
2) I made a huge mistake of not attaching to my truck and lowering the tailgate to make sure I could make a sharp turn with the tailgate down, that mistake cost me an $800 tailgate when I got busy and tried to move my truck really quick.
i recently purchased a heavy, very heavy duty jack from etrailer #3370091410h. have not installed as of yet but i'm sure i'm going to be very pleased . very well built. solid construction. two grease zerks at the gear points and pivots. after i install my jack and use it for a while i will update my review. quick shipping. it came quicker than i expected. my only concern is that its poorly packed do to the weight of the jack. the box had been ripped open several times and taped back up (ups?) i still give it a 5 star rating for jack quaility and etrailers quality service
The jack installed easily onto my trailer, and it has no problem lifting the trailer when fully loaded. No complaints.

I received my order soon after ordering. I have installed the jack on my stock trailer and am very pleased with it. My old jack had definitely see better days and was getting very hard to crank, etc.

You can use a rust-oleum type of paint to cover those scratches in order to prevent corrosion. I have a link below for your reference.
