Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Bulldog Square Trailer Jack. So, this is gonna be a weld on trailer jack. It does come with one, but if you already have one of these on your trailer, you don't really have to use it. But whenever you do weld it on, we wanna make sure that the hole's gonna be farthest away from the trailer so we can mount it. So, it's gonna go, like that. We also wanna make sure we position it right to where we're not gonna hit anything.
So, just keep that in mind. But if you want to check and see if yours is gonna be good enough. The outer diameter, so from the outside here to the outside here, the width is about two inches. And then, the inner diameter of the jack itself is about 2 1/4 of an inch. So, it slides on there really nice.
And this is gonna be great for the side loading. So, we don't have a side load gate on our trailer, but with the square compared to a circle, it is gonna be a little bit stronger whenever you're loading up onto the side. But with this one, it's gonna give us about 5,000 pounds of the static capacity. Meaning, we can't really have 5,000 pounds on here and lift it up, but we can lift it up if it's under 3,000 pounds. So 3,000 pounds lift, 5,000 pounds static.
When it comes to the completely retracted position, it's about 15 3/16 of an inch. But when we take the top wind little lever, we can go all the way down and it's going to be about 30 3/16 of an inch, a total travel of about 15 inches. This is a top wind, so it's not gonna be a side wind. There really, it should all just depends on what you like best. Whether you want to go like this, or go like this, regardless, we're not really gonna have to worry about it hitting anything because we do have a nice pivot here, and we do have a knob too, that's gonna move with it.
So, it's gonna be nice and easy to do even if you do have some gloves on. And the radius of this handle is about 6 1/2 inches from the center, to the farthest most point. So, we are gonna have, from the top of our little mounting point right here, to the very, very top of the jack, it's gonna be seven inches. So, make sure that doesn't interfere with anything up top on your trailer. But then with the square, what we're gonna have to do, is pull this pin, we're gonna have to pull it out and rotate it around for it to fit since it's not circular. So that measurement's also gonna be useful just to make sure whenever your welding this on, we don't put it too close to our coupler and we wanna make sure that we don't put it too close to anything that we have back here. So, let's do another measurement. So, we do have about seven inches from here to here. And then, from that same exact point to the end, I'd say it's about 17 inches. So, an overall length of about two foot. The outer tube is gonna have a powder-coated finish. So it's not gonna rust away. And then, all the other components like the handle and of course our inner tube, it's gonna be zinc coated, so it's not gonna rust away over time. And notice, how the footplate is bent. So with metal, when you pre-bend it, it's actually stronger. So, that's kind of cool. So, the dimensions of the base, the length is about 7 1/2 inches, and the width is about 3 3/4 quarters of an inch. When it comes to trailer jacks, there's only a couple of things you want to look at. One, you just wanna make sure when you weld this on, that the length of it, isn't really gonna interfere with our coupler in front or any else that we have going on back here. Two, we wanna make sure that it's gonna be big enough to lift the trailer up enough, so you can get the coupler off the ball on your truck or your vehicle. And also just the capacity. Just get an idea of how much the trailer weighs and what the max load is. We don't wanna limit ourselves from the get-go. But with this one, it is kind of unique compared to some of the other ones. A lot of them are circular. But if you are doing the side loading that's where the squares' is gonna shine 'cause there's gonna be a little bit less movement, it's gonna be a little bit stronger as well. Also, if you we're to upgrade, as you can see down here, the footplate does not remove. So, if you do want a footplate that you can take off and then maybe put a wheel on, we do sell those here at etrailer, and that's gonna be a little bit easier. So, if you're ball mount, is like this far off to the left or the right, with a wheel, you can kind of shimmy it a little bit, so you don't have to do all that moving with the truck. It's a little bit easier and we do have that on our website. But when it comes to this, it's a very high-quality trailer jack, and I think it's gonna be a great option for 'ya. And again, this was the Bulldog Square Trailer Jack, and I'm Adam with etrailer..

Fixed leg, square jack with pipe mount offers increased side-load strength and durability. Jack has 15-3/16" retracted height and measures 7" from mounting bracket to top, excluding handle. Crank included. My name is David Oley and I a tree removal business and the jack on my stump grinder broke recently and I refuse to pay the manufacture a 160.00 for a jack.I found the same jack here for half the price and quality is just as good as the manufactures. Thanks etrailer for helping me out.
Work great
Baler jack broke and this is a replacement.
The jack works good and was just what I needed.Would buy again if needed.
Good price, fast deliver, fits perfect.
We needed a weld on solution for this trailer. As always etrailer folks are willing and ready to help when needed. It’s been a year and we use this trailer for camping and general hauling. If you want a weld on solution for a jack this is it! Highly recommended. Fast shipping.
Very well built and heavy duty. Used for a replacement of an older Bulldog that sat outside for 10+ years and rusted. Love the addition of the grease zerk near the top of the sleeve.
Only minor complaint is that the packaging for shipping was not great. I recieved the jack with the top of the sleeve/handle sticking out of the box. It had punched right through the cardboard. Ended up being no issue, but I could easily see how that would have resulted in a bent handle.
Amazing product, we are converting all our trailer jacks to this. Ordered more the moment these were received.
The jack was chosen because of it's dimensions that would fit my application and lift rating. I just recently installed it and the fit was just what I needed. The paint on the unit is not sufficient and did require redoing. If the pipe mount could incorporate a security attachment it would be much improved. I expect that it will provide a longer service life than the jack it replaced.
Works great, very well built. I’m using it on my John Deere 10’ CX15 rotary cutter which is in the neighborhood of 2,000-2,100 pounds of tongue weight and it lifts it with ease and is very stable. Also has the perfect range of height.
Great product. Very pleased with how fast it arrived and the generosity of discounted shipping. Great quality.
Good Quality
Application is on a 24' utility trailer used for equipment hauling & general purpose, including kids hay rides. A replacement and upgrade for a jack which was stolen. This jack is very stable and has strength for heavy loads when trailer is not attached to tow truck. The price at etrailer.com was very favorable even when compared to lesser quality jacks.
Mounted on front of 12 ft. dump trailer, works great. Jack can be removed while trailer is in use.
I ordered this jack to replace my tongue mounted jack because it would sometimes hit the ground going over uneven terrain. When I received this jack I didn't realize the top wind would hit my spare tire so I contacted etrailer.com and they exchanged the jack fro a side wind. Great customer service.
Used this jack for my John Deere CX15 rotary cutter. Works great, lifts the front of the cutter up with ease even though it’s over 2,000 pounds of tongue weight IIRC. And plenty of range on the height for this application also.
I was not happy that I could not purchase these items locally, in an attempt to support local businesses. All local stores that carry trailer equipment could order the jack and hitch, but it would take over a week to be in my hands. Ordering from etrailer was easy and I had the items in 4 days. The prices were very reasonable as well. Overall, I think I came out good on this purchase.
arrived on time and in good order, works like a BullDog should, Great product.
I absolutely love etrailer! The products on their webpage are described and explained so clearly it makes the choise easy! I love the videos that are connected to each product, it really helps me with my visual aid and making an informed decision.
Ordering simple and delivery is always on time!
Installed on my shop built 18'- 2 axel pipe trailer. Well built. Very rugged, stands up to rough construction usage. Frequently have 5000lb loads on it.
