I received the box with the Bulldog Jack. The packaging was not real good and could use a lot of improvement. Was missing a hex nut and lock washer, (3) bolts were outside of the plastic bag and (1) was still in the bag. The bag didn't seem to have any holes in it so I assume they weren't all inn the bag to start with. I did get it assembled and mounted and seem to work good. The installation instructions I received with it call for using lock nuts and hex nuts were supplied so I put both lock nuts and also hex nuts on it.

Excellent product.Fast delivery.

Great product. The last Bulldog jack lasted 25 years! Probably could have rebuilt it but I wanted fresh. This is what came on my Gambler bass boat trailer and it fits the 3" x 5" trailer tongue perfectly. This style is ridged and seems to last longer then the swing up kind and I just don't have the room to swing a jack up without hitting on something else. I hope to keep another 25 years out of it! Tight lines.

by:

Jack mechanism always runs smoothly and the wheel tracks beautifully. Consequently the trailer is far easier to push and maneuver by hand. We've replaced the jacks on all our trailers with this model jack.

by:

I got exactly what I ordered and very Quick .IT has been installed on the trailer and is working fine .I will refer your company to anyone I know who needs trailer parts or equipment .Thankyou

by:

Thi is a solid and very suitable replacement for an old unit on an old trailer. The wheel is larger and wider than I expected, making it easy to maneuver the front of the trailer.

Step one for assembly: Throw away the written instructions. They're unnecessary, and unless you have a very good magnifying glass, you can't read them anyway.

by:

We mounted the trailer jack on my boat trailer. The jack works very well.

by:

your product was exactly what I was looking for (replacement of my older jack). only took minutes replace and everything is okay. thanks for your prompt service.

by:

Jack is excellent. Heavy duty and has larger than expected wheel. Smooth and easy to use. J

by:

Fantastic service.

by:

Delivered to front door and was the correct product.

by:

Does what it’s supposed to do but steel gear case tack welds rusted. Appearance only so far

by:

Product is great! But I ordered 30 of the April 1st and still don't have them.

by:

Great Product - replaces the old one which was over twelve years old.

Review from a similar Rack and Gear Jack in Trailer Jack

The jack itself if ok except it def is not like the jack that was suppose to be like my 2005 Kingston horse trailer one. The wheel is too big to tuck into the frame as it should therefore the clearance to ground is low and I have to be careful at raised rail crossings. Unfortunately I did not notice until after it was installed and too late for any recoup, so stuck or have to replace again which I cannot afford. It is a nice jack, just not for my trailer. Wheel needs to be a smaller diameter for sure !!!!

Great range allowing lift to reach different vehicles and fully pull the wheel up and out of the way.

Review from a similar Rack and Gear Jack in Trailer Jack

this is the only jack I could find w/ a 3 point center mount and a steel wheel. Exactly what I was looking for. I would have given 5 starts but it did take almost 6 months to get. I would have canceled but it was the only one I could find and etrailer immediately and completely respond every time with updates when emailed for an update. I would do business with them again

  • Recommended Side Frame Mount Replacement Bulldog Trailer Jack
I spoke with my contact at Bulldog and it looks like the 1988 Bulldog Model 160 Trailer Jack you have is welded shut, so you would need to cut into it to reach anything that needs to be fixed. If it is just the pin to the handle that broke, it may be able to be fixed, but I recommend contacting Bulldog directly to see if they have any replacement pins available. If you find that you need to get a complete replacement, I recommend the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack w/ Polly Wheel # BD169201....

  • Parts Needed to Replace a Broken Wheel Assembly on a Bulldog Rack and Gear Jack

  • How to Get a Replacement Wheel for the Bulldog Rack and Gear Jacks
Since the caster (wheel assembly) of the Bulldog Rack and Gear jacks like your # BD169201 are not designed to come off the only way to replace the wheel is to replace the entire post with the part # BD018308.

  • What are the Dimensions of the Mounting Brackets on Bulldog Rack and Gear 750lb Trailer Jack
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Bulldog jack # BD169201 and measured the mounting plate. Its dimensions are 4 inches wide by 4-1/2 inches long. I made a short video that will appear on this page showing the measurements. If this jack will not work for you I recommend something like rack and gear jack # BD018161 along with # BD018006. It will need to be welded to the bottom and outside of the trailer frame. Welding should be done by a qualified professional.

  • Replacement Handle Knob for Old 750 lb Capacity Bulldog Rack and Gear Jack
Is the jack you're speaking of a Rack and Gear jack like part # BD169201, with the teeth running up and down the tube? If so, your replacement knob is part # BD500248. I have confirmed this with Bulldog. If you have a different kind of jack, please send me a photo of it and I'd be happy to look for a replacement.

  • Will a Rack and Gear Jack Rated for 750 Pounds Work on a 2,600 Pound Trailer
Since the trailer jack is only lifting a portion of the weight it is possible that a 750 pound rack and gear jack, see link, could work. If the gross trailer weight is 2,600 pounds then that would put the tongue weight somewhere around 260 to 390 pounds which is well within the capabilities of a 750 pound jack. There are some options that bolt around the frame such as # BD169201 or a weld-on/bolt-on option, # BD162300.

  • Trailer Jack Recommendation for a Car Dolly with 18 Inches of Clearance from Ground to Frame
The bolt-on swivel jack # PSEJ10000101, has a retracted height of 13 inches from the bottom of the wheel to the mounting bracket so it should work well for you. this jack is designed to fit 3 x 5 inch frames. A jack with even more clearance would be the Bulldog rack and gear jack, # BD169201. This jack measures only 8 inches from the bottom of the wheel to the mounting bracket when retracted. It does have a lower capacity at 750 pounds. It fits on frames up to 3 x 5 inches.

  • Bolt-On Trailer Jack for Small Ironton Utility Trailer
For your trailer you might like a rack and gear jack such as # BD169201. This jack will bolt around trailer frames or tongues that are up to 3"x5". This type of jack has the ability to draw the wheel up very close to the mounting bracket which means the clearance from where it mounts to the bottom of the wheel is only 7-1/2 inches when the jack is fully retracted. I have linked a video review of this jack for you. It isn't a swivel jack but since it can retract so far it is an alternative...

Fully extended, the same jack measurement is 24" providing 16" of lift. The clearance provided is 20" measuring from the mounting bracket to the top of the jack. Thanks for the photos and from that it looks like you need a pull-pin swivel trailer jack, and you're right that the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack # BD169201 is not one of those.
