Video Transcript for Redline Trailer Hubs and Drums - Hub - AH15450ECOMP Review

Today, we're going to review part number AH15450ECOMP. This is a Dexter Agricultural Trailer Hub Assembly for a 3000-pound axle. This trailer hub has a capacity of 1500 pounds. When used with another hub on this other side of the axle would give you the maximum of 3000 pounds. This is designed for use with a spindle, part number AS1500E. Now, this part does come with the grease cap.

It does come with the 1-1/2-inch inside diameter grease seal. It comes with the inner bearing, part number LM67048. It comes with the outer bearing, part number LM11949 and it comes with four of the 1/2-inch wheel bolt to attach the wheel to the hub. Now, agricultural hubs like this and agricultural spindles are used mostly in building or repairing implement wagons, carts, or machinery. The agricultural hubs and spindles are designed for low-speed applications, the weight capacity shown for speeds not to exceed 20 miles per hours.

Now, this agricultural hub has a bolt pattern of 4 on 5-inch bolt pattern. So basically, the way you would measure that is on a bolt pattern that has an even number of lugs. It would be, in this case, four. You just measure directly from the center of one hole directly across to the center of the other hole. So in this case, if we go across from center to center, it would be 5 inches.

So this will be a four-lug, 5-inch bolt pattern. And that should do it for review on part number AH15450ECOMP.

Ask the Experts about this Redline Trailer Hubs and Drums

  • Hub Recommendation for Trailer Spindle that Measures 1.25 and .75 inches
  • It sounds like you are in need of an agricultural hub like the part # AH15450ECOMP that has a diameter of .75 where the inner bearing rides and 1.25 inches where the outer bearing rides. This hub has a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern so if you needed one with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern you would want the part # T1721400042.

  • Replacement Hubs For Trailer With 3/4 Inch Outer Diameter Spindle That Is Straight
  • The only hub we have that is currently available for a 3/4 inch spindle is Item # AH15450ECOMP. This is an agricultural hub that fits 3,000 lbs axles for 4 on 5 inch bolt pattern. It takes an inner bearing, Item # LM67048, and outer bearing, Item # LM11949. It is meant to be used for low speed (less than 20 mph) agricultural applications. It is designed for a spindle like Item # AS1500E. If you can find the actual bearing number on your old bearings and seal or can send me a bearing...

  • Replacement Hubs for Old Trailer That Uses Inner and Outer Bearing LM67048
  • First, thank you for providing those important details about your trailer. Bearing part # LM67048 is a common OUTER bearing for 6- and 8-lug hubs, but as an INNER bearing we offer only one 4-on-5 agricultural hub that takes this item as its inner bearing. That hub is part # AH15450ECOMP. I presume that you got the bearing part numbers from the original parts. Given the trailer's age it may be that someone previously substituted a different bearing for what was originally installed....

  • Replacement Trailer Hub that Uses Bearings with Inner Diameters of 1.25 and 0.75 Inches
  • Based on the measurements you have provided hub # AH15450ECOMP is a close match. The bearings that it uses fit on spindles with the measurements you have provided. But the seal has an inner diameter of 1-1/2 inches. It is not uncommon for the seal inner diameter to be smaller to provide a tight fit. This is an agricultural hub so it isn't very common and being an aggie hub means it is limited to 20 miles per hour. It might be more beneficial to replace the axle on the trailer to get...

  • Availability of Hub for LM11949 Bearing
  • Is both your inner and outer bearing the same part number? The only hub we offer that uses a LM11949 bearing would be the # AH15450ECOMP agricultural hub assembly, but it used a LM67048 inner bearing, which has a 1.25 inch inner diameter. An agricultural hub is typically used on farm equipment for low speed applications, under 20 mph or less.

  • Replacement Trailer Spindles to Allow Installation of Different Hubs
  • All of the trailer spindles we sell are weld-on types, including those with brake flanges like Redline # R20384EZ that fits 1.75-inch diameter axles. The largest diameter spindle we sell is for a 2-1/4-inch axle beam, part # R50342EZ; this can be seen on the link provided. This spindle is for a 5200-lb axle and it has a 5-bolt brake mounting flange. It is almost surely going to be easier and less expensive for you to replace your axles than to have a professional welder install new spindles...

  • Replacement Hub Assembly for Tapered 3/4 spindle
  • We do have one hub that will work with 3/4 inch spindle # AS1500E, but this particular spindle measures larger than 1-1/16 inches towards the axle and does not work with the same bearings. The hub, # AH15450ECOMP, also has a 4 on 5 bolt pattern. The grease seal is also going to depend on the measurements of your spindle and we do not have any matching the dimensions you gave. We do have the correct replacement bearings # LM11949 with matching race # LM11910 and # L44649 with matching...

  • Availability of Trailer Hub with 4 on 5 inch Bolt Pattern
  • If you do indeed have a 4 on 5 inch bolt pattern we have one hub that matches that. For that you would need the part # AH15450ECOMP. There is a better chance that you have a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern as that is the most common 4 bolt mounting pattern. I attached a help article on determining bolt patterns as well. You should also note that when picking out a hub for an axle you have to make sure you pick one that will fit the spindle. To do this you need to measure the spindle where...

  • Hub Assembly Needed for Bearings with 0.75 and 1.25 Inner Diameter
  • If the inner diameter of your bearings are 0.750" and 1.250" then we do have a few hubs for you to choose from. It is important to make sure that a digital caliper like part # 301-17068 be used to get an exact reading to the 3rd decimal place (1.234 for example). For the measurements you gave we have the Titan Trailer Hub Assembly # T1721400042 which has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and a seal inner diameter of 1.688" as well as the Redline Trailer Hub Assembly # AH15450ECOMP which has...

  • How to Select Replacement Trailer Hubs
  • Thank you for submitting your photo of your trailer spindles. To select compatible replacement hubs that have the 5-on-4-1/2-inch bolt pattern you want you will need to match up several characteristics to your existing hubs. You will need to match the axle's capacity and also either the bearing numbers or bearing diameters, as you have provided. I was able to find only a little information about the bearings (axle cone runners) you referenced, parts 909501 and 909502. They reportedly...

  • Replacement Hub for a 3/4 Inch Diameter Straight Spindle
  • The only hub we have that is associated with a 3/4 inch spindle is # AH15450ECOMP. This is an agricultural hub that takes inner bearing # LM67048 and outer bearing # LM11949. But the spindle it fits on is not straight, it is tapered, # AS1500E. If this is a kit trailer then in order to replace the hubs, wheels, and tires you are going to have to replace the axle. I have included a link to the right to the straight axles and the axle-less systems that we have. The axle-less systems may...

  • Recommended Replacements for a Trailer Hub With an LM67048 Inner Bearing and LM11949 Outer Bearing
  • It sounds like you have an agricultural style hub, like our part # AH15450ECOMP. In reality, replacement items are available for your current setup, but because you mention that this a boat trailer, your best option would really be to switch out to an EZ-Lube assembly. The current agricultural hub might hold up if you are just submerging them once or twice a season, but for repeated use you will really want to switch out the spindle, hub, and wheels. • Availability of Hubs That Use Inner Bearing LM67048 and Outer Bearing LM11949
  • We do not have any hubs or hub/drums in a 5-on-4-1/2 bolt pattern that use your particular bearings. The bearings in a replacement hub must match those in your originals in order for the hub to fit on your spindles. We do offer one idler hub that uses inner bearing LM67048 and outer bearing LM11949 and that is 4-on-5 bolt pattern agricultural idler hub # AH15450ECOMP. This hub kit includes bearings, races and a grease seal and it is rated for off-road use up to 20-mph.

  • Trailer Hub that Uses Inner Bearing LM67048 and Outer Bearing LM11949
  • Sounds like you may have an older setup. If so you may need breaks and drums. All of the drums we carry for 3500 lbs axles are going to be 2 " deep. To get the correct drum we will need the bearing numbers and the spindle dimensions or we cannot guarantee that the drum assembly will fit. If you can provide that information we will be glad to make a recommendation.
