Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Nev-R-Lube Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly with the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern, and it's for the 8,000 pound Dexter 50 millimeter Nev-R-Lube Axles with the 5/8 inch diameter wheel studs. Now, this trailer hub and drum assembly provides the surface area for your brake shoes to grip when your brakes are activated, and this hub and drum assembly is compatible with both electric and hydraulic drum brakes. So you can see right here, this is where your magnet would work if you have an electric brake, and if you have the regular hydraulic drum brakes with the brake shoes, this is where your shoes would be applied. Now, this assembly is designed to fit the 50 millimeter Nev-R-Lube Axles, and the Nev-R-Lube Axles are from Dexter, and it's a sealed cartridge bearing system. This part here will include the Nev-R-Lube 50 millimeter bearing cartridge already pre-installed in the hub.

Now, the Nev-R-Lube bearings will consist of opposed tapered roller bearing cones that are sealed right here inside of a one piece double cup arrangement. These bearings are designed with a small amount of end play, and this end play's essential to the longevity of the bearing service life. So the advantages of this system, there's no need to have to pull your hubs to repack the bearings or replace the seals when you're checking the brakes, there's no more inner and outer bearings, there's just this one seal pre-lubricated cartridge, and it already has a preset adjustment, so it means installation's very easy. As they are pre-lubricated from the factory, provides resistance to contamination, and these cartridges are sealed for life, which means increased durability and reliability and no more bearing maintenance. Now, this hub and drum assembly is a sturdy iron construction, it will include the hub and drum assembly with the pre-installed bearing cartridge.

Now, the grease cap that goes on the outside here and the 5/8 inch lug nuts that go on these studs to hold the wheel in place, those items are not included, we do sell those separately. Few specs, again, we mentioned the application, this is for a 50 millimeter Nev-R-Lube Axle. The drum dimensions, which I wanna measure for you, the diameter, which will be measured inside to inside, if we put our tape measure on it, it's gonna be 12 1/4 inches. The width on it, the width will be measured this way, so if we go from here to out here, it's gonna be 3 3/8 inches wide. We mentioned the bolt pattern, the bolt pattern on this is gonna be an 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern, it does have the 5/8 inch diameter studs, and the weight capacity on this hub and drum assembly is 4,000 pounds, so when it's used with one on the other side of the axle, it'll meet the 8,000 pound axle capacity.
