Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Dexter never-lube trailer hub. This trailer hub is designed to work with an 8,000 pound axle. It's a cast iron construction, which provides strength and durability. It has a nice e-coat finish on it designed to protect it from rust, corrosion and wear. It comes with bearing, seals, races, lug nuts, the dust cap and the trailer hub. Everything that you need is included.
The studs are already pressed in, so they're pre-installed into the hub. The never-lube bearings come pre-lubricated and pre-installed, so the sealed bearings include the necessary seals, inner and outer races. There's no need to replace the seal when checking brakes and there's no need to lubricate the bearings. The product is made in the USA. It's designed to fit a never-lube axle with a capacity of 8,000 pounds. Wheel sizes are 16 inches, 16-and-a-half inches, and 17 inches.
Bolt pattern on this unit is eight on six-and-a-half inches and the wheel bolt diameter is five-eighths of an inch. The pilot diameter, which is measuring from this edge to this edge, is four-and-three-quarter inches and then the bearing cartridge, basically this opening right here, is 50 millimeter or 1.968 inches. The cap that it comes with would fit right over that area there and just taps into place. Now, please note that there is a sticker located right here. It's a caution sticker that says, "Use only zero offset to .19 inch inset wheels." Again, it does come with your lug nuts. They go on here to securely hold the wheel to the trailer hub. That's going to do it for today's look at the Dexter never-lube trailer hub..
