Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Product arrive ahead of schedule, put in service, and worked perfectly. I am beyond satisfied. This replaced 5 X 4 1/2 with 5 X 4 3/4 - this is on the trailer, as yet unpainted.

by:

Good wheel hubs complete with all necessary mounting parts. Unfortunately one of the four hubs didn't have the correct grease seal with it. One seal instead of having two sealing lips, only had a single inner seal ring with no tensioner spring. If not for that one grease seal it was a good order, reasonable pricing and very quick shipping.

by:

just to let etrailer know how greatfull i am for the items i order. everthing i expected was on the order.the hubs i needed are hard to find( 5on 4 3/4 ).thanks to etrailer i can now put together my trailer.excellent information on products, service, and price as well.

by:

Excellent quality hub from a well known and trusted manufacturer. 4-3/4" bolt circle not as common as most 4-1/2" bolt circle hubs offered by other vendors, but that suited my purposes perfectly. All parts were included, and I would buy this again without hesitation.

Comments
Its been a year now since I received these, and am still very satisfied. No problems or issues.

  • How to Pick Out Trailer Axle Bearings and Seal
I appreciate you giving me info on your hubs, and I can help you pick out the correct bearings and seal, but the info you did give me does not help identify the correct parts you would need. The only two solution I have for you would be to remove the hubs and get the numbers that are stamped on the bearing or for you to remove the hubs and use a digital or dial caliper to measure where the bearings and seal ride (see pic). You will need to get the diameter on the hub where the seal installs...

I can help you determine what is the correct replacement trailer hub you need, but I am not able to find any info on a hub part number that matches what you mentioned. In order to pick out the correct hub assembly for a trailer you are going to need know a few key pieces of information. The first thing you will need to know is the bolt pattern of your hubs. I was unable to find any reference to a Dico 45264 hub. You will need to take some of the measurements to make sure you get the correct bearings and seals for your trailer.
