E-Z Lube-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication
The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
- If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"
Note: Some axles rated at 2,000 lbs require a different seal and bearings. Be sure that the bearings in the hub being replaced have L44649 stamped on them. If the bearings have L44643 stamped on them, use 8-258BTUC1 trailer hub.
Note: Trailer wheels that are smaller than 15" and have 5 bolts, have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.

I was amazed at all the helpful information (measuring, correct bearing size etc.), with videos when searching for the correct hub replacements for my 1999 Bass Tracker - Trailstar Trailer which has the EZ lube Dexter axle.

Awesome product, fits like it should! Came with everything for a full hub, did not come with castle-nut or cotter-pin but can re-use the old nut and pick up a new pin at a hardware store. Great customer service, quick shipping, great price.

Installed the new hubs yesterday on my Triton snowmobile trailer.
These are the OEM hub for my trailer and I wasn't happy with the replacement hubs which were installed as the EZ Lube feature of the axle was not working a it should.
It was real nice to order a complete high quality hub set at a great good price.
They fit Great and the EZ Lube hubs now work well.

I am very happy with service etrailer has provided me. I decided to tackle my trailer's hub and bearing replacement by myself. I started last weekend, took the down the correct bearing Serial numbers, came to the site, ordered the correct set of bearings and hubs, and they were delivered promptly this Thurs. Direct replacement, fits well, works well. Don't be cheap and get the replacement bearings cup, cone and seal as well.

The rubber seals to hold the grease in are a bit dodgey though after just being exposed to sunshine... they are starting to crack and dry out, which to me means they are a very inexpensive and cheap quality rubber.I havent had to adjust the bearings yet, so happy overall. Note they were installed on a 25 year old trailer so really was helpful to extend the life even further.

Ordering on line was simply and easy. The company processed my order quickly and emailed me the tracking information. Unfortunately, UPS didn't scan the package, so tracking was useless. The axle is performing great. I have run it about 2000 miles and the tires are doing great. The original axle wore out a tire in 1000 miles. I am very pleased with this business and have told several people about it. THANKS

Great product. Kit comes with everything needed to replace the Hub. Total install time was less then 10min and the new wheels matched up perfectly. The kit was just installed so no comment on the durability yet but everything appears to be made of good quality materials. Extremely fast shipping. Exactly what I ordered, it should be clear races are installed. Parts were loose in box but all there. I bought as emergency hub assembly for boat trailer. I did notice bearings are made in China that was my only concern for long term use.

Was exactly what I need. Price was great. Expedited delivery showed up exactly as promised. Note that the hub and bearings come completely disassembled and ungreased. So you'll need to assemble it all on the spindle and grease the bearings.

- Will Grease Seal 13194 Fit with Dexter Axle 8-258 HubYes, the Grease Seal # 13194 will fit just fine with a Dexter Axle 8-258 like part # 8-258-5UC1. I would verify fitment of this seal with your spindle by using a digital caliper like part # 301-17068. What you'll want to do is measure the diameter of your spindle where the grease seal rides. The seal # 13194 mentioned above has a 1.372" ID.
