This trailer hub-and-drum assembly has a zinc coating that resists corrosion, making it ideal for use on your boat or snowmobile trailer. All GAL-DEX hubs and drums undergo a test in which they are sprayed with a 5-percent salt solution to determine corrosion resistance over time. These products are able to withstand 500 hours of constant exposure to the saltwater mist. This 500-hour salt spray rating indicates that a product is not only durable enough to last in freshwater environments, but it can also be used on trailers that come into contact with saltwater.
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Galvanized hub-and-drum assembly is great for marine use. Fits 3,500-lb with #84 spindles. Inner bearing (L68149) and race, outer bearing (L44649) and race, grease seal, grease cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts included.Shipping was pretty fast and packaging nice and secure. The drums and brake backing assembly were a breeze to install without instructions. I was a bit surprised though that the back kit did not come with 4 new bolts to secure onto the flange. I used the old ones. The drum kit comes with new lug nuts though. I have no real complaints, I would definitely use etrailer again. Excellent pricing and quality. I installed these brakes the next day after receiving them. I used marine grease from autozone to pack the new bearings. The brakes are bled and adjusted as per the sticker on the kit...adjust til you cannot turn by hand and 10 clicks out. All that's left is to test drive it.
Cheap junk. One of the hubs was not properly coated. Will not recommend this to anybody. Cheap junk from China. Photos will be attached.
We had a break down on Saturday when we picked our boat up from storage. Went online and ordered the necessary parts to repair the trailer and forgot about it for a couple hours. Etrailer called to notify us that the selected parts would not arrive as hoped based on the shipping I had chosen. Stripping down a 16 year old 21 ft. salt water use trailer - from end to end. The folks @ etrailer were very knowledgeable, and helpful in my decision making. From placing the order, to tracking the order, to the way the items were packed for transit. Other distributors could learn from these people; in regards to customer service, following up, both office and warehouse. Unloaded the products last night, nothing short, all quality in regards to their products, with great pricing. The installation videos are a big bonus, and something I'll be taking advantage of, during the restoration. Will follow up with picture, (before and after) when I'm done

I'm wondering if this product has the free backing feature or if I need to manually lock out the brakes when backing up. Any information is appreciated.
Bought the galvanized drum brakes for a 6000# boat trailer used strictly in salt water. With rinse off after use they seem to be holding up pretty good.
