E-Z Lube-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

We built a custom trailer for elk hunting. We took it up the jeep trails loaded down and it did amazing. 34” off-road tires.

Excellent service from etrailer, they had my parts to me in 1 day from the time of placing the order. These hubs seem to be well made and fit nicely onto the Timbren 5200 lb axel assembly with the 12" self adjusting brake kit. I have not ran these on the road as of yet but will give another review at that time.

by:

I got these to replace my hosed up 4-9.44 hubs (8-155). One was a 3-9.44 hub (one hole was bad), the other three hubs had two different sized bolts in them. This was for a 1988 HMD 20 foot stock trailer with #5200 axles. The outer bearing for the 4-9.44 hub was an LM67048 so I opted to stick with that bearing to fit the spindle. Fit perfect. Very happy with my purchase.

by:

I bought the kit with bearings, All fit perfectly!! Installed the self adjusting Electric Brake Assemblies as well, All parts fit together perfectly. Thanks George.

by:

The product itself I would give five stars!! but the shipping I will give one star I ordered it on 5/24. They said it was in stock and processed in Salt Lake City warehouse but it took nine days to get to California…. this is the first time that I’ve ordered through etrailer and not been happy with the service and shipping!!

by:

Not happy that it came with made in China bearings.

by:

Just like to say that those self-adjusting brakes that I bought a year ago working fine way better that my old breaks that I had to adjust myself you got yourself a satisfied customer etrailer

by:

Have always used dexter products for my trailers and etrailer has always had what I needed in stock. Great company to order from never a problem with any parts I have ordered.

by:

The products were good once I finally received all the parts. The first shipment only had the hub. I had to contact etrailer and have them ship out the bearings and hardware. Other than that little mess, I would recommend this product.

by:

Great quality product

by:

Product, service & technical information is great. Mike provided confirmation of all the correct parts for my trailer hub assembly. The price was so reasonable that I carry the assembly in the trailer and ready to mount so, no rebuilds on the side of the interstate. Thanks Mike!.

I actually bought these parts as spares which I carry in my 26ft loaded cartrailer. We had a bearing failure on I71 heading to Akron, OH on a Sundaynight last summer. I had all the parts to change the bearings and seal but,it wasnt much fun or safe on the side of a busy interstate. We were on ourway within an hour. Right after that I ordered the assembly which will cut our change out time to about 20 mins. Given the minimal cost, any trailerowner should carry a spare assembly.

by:

All parts ordered to replace a complete brake system on a 25-year-old boat trailer fit perfectly. Ashly from etrailer was very knowledgeable regarding are needs. Thank you!

by:

Thank You for a follow-up !! The update was done on a home made trailer that had trailer house axels and wedge type rims! The difference was astounding !! With new tires and the wheels and rims made it into an entirely different trailer!!
Thanks Again for the follow up, I have to say that hasn’t happened to me before! One usually one has the “tail-light” Warranty if you catch what I’m saying!!! Thanks Again

by:

It was delivered quick, fit perfectly. Tomorrow we are taking our trailer back to work.

by:

This product was good and was not damaged but the box was pretty much destroyed - needs to be packaged better

by:

I have ordered from etrailer.com on other occasions and for the most part what keeps me coming back in the pricing. They usually have the lowest price for the same original equipment. Be careful if you haven't heard that your product has shipped in a reasonable amount of time, even if their website says they have the item in stock. They will hold your order until they have all the parts to ship. I had not seen a shipped email for almost a week and when I called they said they would have it to ship in mid august, about a month after I ordered. I was told they had a similar item in stock ready to ship now if I wanted to change my order. I appreciated that and did change my order, however, I needed to know that information at the time they knew it because I had to change my vacation plans because I could not get the parts in time to take our 5th wheel. Overall this is a good place to order parts from and I will keep doing so.

by:

Excellent fit and finish...

by:

2nd time i bought your product for a re placement.

by:

I have replaced all 4 of my drums with these and they work perfectly.

The only concern is the need to verify the inner seal inner diameter. Some are 2.25" and some are 2.12" and the seal will destroy the seal if you use one too small. (Ask me how I know)

The "drum" product is good quality, fits perfectly. I didn't use the lug nuts as I have aluminum wheels and it takes different nuts.

by:

I have no complaint for the product I purchased they have replaced my old brake system without much difficulty during installation. However, the condition of the packages when received were terrible. A picture is worth a thousand words.

by:

All the products I have purchased from Etrailer have been good. Quailty, durable products, fast shipping and easy transactions. Etrailer.com has pretty much any product you need for your trailers. Thank you Etrailer!

by:

out of box on axles no problem best way to repair brakes replace the whole thing could not get any easier

by:

Got the 4 hubs today by ups. came when e-trailer told me would get
them, things fixed just rigth, had them on my 5th wheel trailer in 3 hours later working great, than you. bob

by:

One seal (out of 4) was damaged and I had to buy another at the local parts store. Other than that, nice kit. Outer washers are not included and you'll have to use your old ones.

You can use hub and drum assembly # 8-201-9UC3-EZ in place of K08-201-95. The only difference is the appearances between the 2 are slightly different. Everything else is the same. I have included a link to a video review of this hub and drum assembly for you.

The other parts you mentioned for your mobile home should work too but you'll need to verify that the drums on the axles are 7 inch diameter.

  • Choosing Between Agricultural-Grade Hubs vs. Standard Trailer Hubs
You will not want to use agricultural hubs if you intend to pull the trailer on the highway. Agro hubs are usually speed-limited to 20-mph. Similar speed limitation generally applies to tires intended for use on farm equipment. The keys for selecting new hubs to fit your trailer are to know the axle's weight capacity and the bearing set in the current hubs. Any new hubs you choose must use the same bearing set as the current ones or the hubs will not be compatible with your spindles. And...

The maximum hub bore measurement for the 5,200 LB or 6,000 LB Dexter hub and drum assembly # 8-201-5UC3-EZ is 3.622 inches. So a wheel with center bore of 3-3/4 inches would fit.

  • If the Center Section of the Hub is Larger than a Wheel Pilot Hole Will they Work Together
If the outer diameter of the hub center section that fits through the wheel is larger than the wheel pilot hole then the parts are not going to fit together. If the center hole on the wheel is larger, it will not matter unless the wheel is centered on the hub using wheel bolts and not lug nuts. A wheel bolt is basically a bolt and the head is like a lug nut. It gets tightened into the wheel and this is what centers the wheel on the hub. If your wheels attach with lug nuts then as long...
