I put a 12” high pail under one side to hold it up into place, and my wife shone a flash light for me. Put a couple of bolts in on the opposite side and then finished up on the pail side. Complete install of the hitch was 35 minutes, including torquing. Not to bad for a 75 years young senior. Thanks again.
This seems like a nice quality hitch receiver. It came 3 days eariler than stated and was exactly what it said it would be. I recommend ordering one that comes with the bolts and washers as shown here. That made it so much easier than trying to track down my own.
I put it on by myself with the use of a wood block placed in the center to suspend it under the car. I don't think I could have installed it by myself without the block - the hitch is quite stout. I had a bit of trouble getting 2 of the holes to line up with the holes in the frame of my car, but I was able to take it back off and hit it with a sledge hammer to widen it 1/2 of an inch. After that it went right on. I'd buy this again if I ever needed another one. Time to hook on the bike rack and go on an adventure.

I bought my hitch a year ago and have had zero problems with it. It is exactly what I needed and it has functioned perfectly.
The etrailer Hitch arrive very quickly in only 2 days. The online Videos made the installation very easy as I was done in under 20 minutes. The product overall was coated very well in a flat black which matches the plastic at the bottom of the bumper. Great looking product!
The hitch fit well, was easy to install, and has worked without a problem for the past year.

The hitch is still going strong. No complaints at all.
Received the hitch in perfect shape. I was able to install it by myself without special tools or needing to jack up the vehicle. It was somewhat of a challenge (I'm 66 yrs. old and not a really strong guy) but I did it! It fits perfectly! The Swagman XC bike rack which your consultant recommended works great with the hitch. Great job, etrailer!!

I've ordered from etrailer before with good results. I'm a retired mechanic and mechanical engineer, and I like it when everything works out well the first time.
Everything went well this time too. The instructions were clear and complete. It took me about 35 minutes to install the hitch receiver and about 50 minutes to install the wiring harness, but most of the extra time was dealing with all the trim pieces on my vehicle. Several of my friends want me to install hitches on their vehicles too, so I'll be back.
Great product unfortunately was not able to install due to my Murano having motion sensor hitch. Tried to return but was passed my return date by 5 days and wouldn't make any exceptions to accept return. I still have hitch brand new in box unable to use.
Great product, very solid and was easy to install. Did it alone with the help of some blocks to prop it up and only took me about 30 minutes to get it installed. We utilize it for a bike rack but I have full confidence we can trailer anything that our car can handle and not worry about the hitch mount.
I have a 2021 Nissan Murano. I ordered the Matt black finish. The hitch fits perfect! The bolts fit perfectly. The install was very easy too with 2 people. The Matt black blends with bumper and looks great. I recommend this hitch ! The price and quality thumbs up
It was in the car when I took it for an oil change a Westlink Auto here in Wichita, Ks. They ask if I wanted it installed while the Murano was on the lift. I said, sure! they said, no charge it was easy to install! Looks great works well, love it!

I choose the etrailer brand hitch over the other brands for cost. I guess the old sayings is right: ‘you get what you pay for’.
The matte black finish looks good on the vehicle but only 4 of the 5 bolt holes line up correctly. I doubt there’s much variation in the placement of the bolts at the Nissan plant, so this is just a sloppily built hitch. It seems secure enough with 4/5 bolts torqued in, so I plan to leave it as is.

Thank you for your review. It does seem the hitch became flexed in shipping. That is the most common reason why 1 bolt hole will not line up. We cannot recommend not having all of the hardware torqued down to the specifications in the instructions. I recommend to remove the hitch and flex it back into place before reinstallation. I know this is not ideal but it is the safest way. The mounting brackets are made from a mild steel that allows the hitch to flex with the vehicle after installation so they can sometimes bend out of place in shipping. I have attached a link to show how to flex it back.

After a year i couldnt be more pleased with my purchase and self installation guided by e-trailer installation videos.
I could not be happier with the receiver hitch for a 2017 Nissan Murano. Installation was a piece of cake and the fit was perfect. Matte black finish makes hitch look great. Would not hesitate to make future purchases from etrailer.
Hitch arrived well before estimated delivery. Installation went as smooth as the video. A 20 gauge brush works great to clean to holes.

Works great, I tow with confidence.
Very quick delivery during difficult times. The tow bar was easy to install, I was able to do it by myself and without lifting my Nissan Murano. It holds my bike rack steadily. I was concerned that the hitch would scrape while driving into and out of my slanted drive way, but it has not scraped yet. One install tip, start on the left side and barely start the bolt threading on all the bolts. Once they are all loosely started and in, then tighten them down.
Easy fit. Total install was about 20 minutes by myself. Used a gallon paint can and a block of wood to hold one side up while I got the bolts started on the other side. Highly recommended. Very sturdy!
I couldn’t respond before because I didn’t install it yet. I had a heck of a time cleaning out those weld nuts so that the bolts could go into it. Went shopping around to different places to see how much they would charge me to install it, some places wanted 125 dollars to $140 and they couldn’t do it right away because they were booked up. I got out my tools, cleaned all those nuts and install the trailer hitch by myself.
No special tools needed no welding needed I didn’t even need a lift to do the job.
I chose the etrailer hutch reciever for my 2018 Nissan Murano because I liked the matte black finish as opposed to the gloss finish of similar hitch receivers. It installed easily in less than 15 minutes with the help of a small floor jack to hold one end while I worked on the other. Looks great and works as you’d expect.

No problems at all. Easy install and works great one year later
Excellent Quality, great shipping and packaging as well. This was about as easy of an installation as you can get. I installed this on my 2021 Murano S AWD. I removed the weight ratings sticker from the hitch and relocated it inside the spare tire area and added a plain hitch cover to tie it all together and it has a great factory look!
Easy to install myself. Sturdy feel. Looks good. I only use it infrequently with a bike rack but after 1 year I’m fully satisfied.
I have to say I doubted the ease at what you stated about how easy an install it would be. Well as someone who has installed at least 8 trailer hitches over the years, and now being (let’s say a little older) this was by far the easiest I have ever done. Partially to Nissan and how they prep for this, but your product looks nice, fit perfect, I do like the matte finish better as well. And more than anything, as someone who hesitates for a lot of feed back. THANK YOU
It was delivered today and installed by my local service station mechanic. Now I just need to get my bike rack. It fit perfectly and the matte color blended nicely with my car
Perfect! We were a bit scared when the bolts for the hitch wouldn’t go in due to rusting and dirt. Nothing a power tool couldn’t handle. Perfect bike rack for my Murano!
