One note: If you're having a shop do the install, explicitly tell them they'll need to cut notches into the bumper to make it flush. The shop I worked with, didn't do a clean job cutting the notches.
Perfect fit and easy to install. The 2021 installation video works fine for the 2022 model year. I did not need to trim the heat shield nor the bumper fascia, so it was just a bit easier than the video showed. Watch the whole video and unpack the bag inside the hitch before you start. Took about two hours with my son helping me.
Works great with our bike rack, though I am not a fan of the shape of the hitch which lowers the road clearance an inch or two and looks bulky. This may or may not be important to you.

Hitch is very strong. No sign of rust.
I'm handy, however didn't know if I could install a hitch. I didn't know exactly what the hitch height would be, or how far/if it would stick out. I, frankly, didn't know what questions I should have been thinking about. However etrailer had a complete step-by-step installation video with every dimension I would want to know. My 3 year old son and I installed this together, following the video, in a couple hours. It was extremely straightforward. The product is great and is exactly what I wanted - strong, easy to install, and doesnt stick out past the bumper. The video made it a great experience. I could not be more satisfied.

After 1 year, not a single issue or concern. Its as great as the day my son and I installed it!
Great, clean install on 2019 Volvo XC90. Installation video was super helpful to self-install in approximately 2 hrs. Minor bumper trimming required (but can't be seen from looking at vehicle). No other modifications required -- just bolt it on. Paired the install with a Volvo OEM tow wiring harness to get: OEM 7-pin/4-pin plug, integration with stability control, backup camera tow bar function, and trailer lighting checks.
I haven't towed yet so this review is for the install and fit. It fits perfectly. Followed the clear instructions from the video on your website and it was a straight-forward install on my 2019 XC90. The trickiest part is the lower bolts - I couldn't get the threads to bite until I put in the new 4th screw and tightened it up a bit. I had to go back and forth between the two lower bolts until they were snug. I was also a bit nervous about taking off the rear fascia but using the same panel removal tool as in the video made it easy and nothing to be worried about. Just took my time and everything went smoothly. Also, I measured and cut the fascia just as instructed and it came out perfectly and that was the first time using a Dremel cutting tool (I know, I should have practiced first, but it worked out). This was a good project and worth my time to do myself. Took about 2.5 hours including cleanup.

Hitch worked out OK. Needed to trim fascia more than was indicated in the instructions (notch at each side plate). Also, our XC60 has the sensor that opens/closes the tailgate if you move your foot below the drivers side rear bumper, which made fitting a bit more challenging. Instructions were pretty vague, so it helped to look at the install instructions for the factory hitch/wiring harness (google instructions 31454723 for part 31439424) for details of how to remove body components. Factory hitch definitely would have installed quicker, for a few more $$$.
Near perfect hitch. It’s a 4 1/2 star. The missing half star is for the difficulty in trying to torque the two additional 17mm bolts. That process took me the most time, maybe longer than taking everything off and reassembling everything!!
Yesterday I installed this Drawtite hitch on my 2019 Volvo XC90. Dealer said it would be $1,600 and would require programming the cars computer to do the taillights.
We installed the hitch and taillight kit from etrailer yesterday. It took about 2 hrs. It was a perfect fit. It did not require dropping the muffler nor notching the heat shield. We did notch the bumper but Volvo already had the notch marked!

Product came damaged. Offered a $[XX] credit and blamed the shipper. First and last time ordering from etrailer.
The trailer hitch(item 76194) that I purchased for my 2022 XC60 Volvo worked great. I installs it myself with a little help from my 19 year old grandson. We has No problems, I have not installed the T-One wiring Harness, it not needed at this time.
I have quite an issue with the product design: considering that Volvo XC90 is a sporty SUV with limited ground clearance, the fact that the hitch security rings are positioned vertically and downwards decreases, even more, the available ground clearance, easily hitting speed bumps or sidewalk ramps when loaded. A horizontal design would have been more logical.

We do have a hitch that installs differently for the 2020 Volvo XC90. It is hitch part # C13233. Drilling is required for installation. The location of the hitch receiver is just as low. It is necessary to allow the hitch receiver to clear under the bumper.
Very cost effective if you are a DIY sort of person.
Mounting- This took me only about an hour to install. Broke 1 of the plastic Volvo fasteners that hold the wheel well trim in place, but does not effect the assembly much. Instructions were easy to follow.
Safety chain loop hangs a bit low. When I am not paying attention, this scrapes the ground leaving steep angle driveways, gutters. I wish this didn't hang so low.
Has worked great overall for bike rack mount, and a small utility rack that works great for hauling a camping trip firewood.

After a year- I rarely think about the hitch- No problems other than the occasional scrape of the loop mounts where the chain hangs as I mentioned a year ago.
I love the trailer hitch and it's exactly what I wanted installed on XC90 SUV. It was an easy install and the bars of the hitch are hidden behind the bumper. I definitely recommend this hitch for anyone who only wants the hitch to show.

The trailer hitch has worked perfectly and made transporting my bikes very easy. There has been no issues and i recommend this product to anyone that likes a hidden trailer hitch.

Still works and looks great.
I was a little concerned about installing a hitch receiver on my wife's new Volvo but etrailer provided the correct part, got it to me quickly and the installation video was perfect. I saved [money] doing it myself.
2019 Volvo XC60
I read the reviews indicating it takes about 2 hours to install. I was able to use only the directions and have it completed in 1 hour, give or take. Its not hard, but paying attention to details when removing the bumped cover is the most difficult part. Also, having a set of ramps available so you can get under the car is helpful, but not necessary.
The part fit perfectly and required minimum trimming under the car. Someone noted that Volvo has marked the area your trim, but I couldn't find such markings. Still it was easy to measure and cut where necessary.
I would recommend this over the dealership option.
The hitch went on almost like the instructional video I watched. There are metal brackets that are welded to the the frame work of the car. You need to bend these brackets down to install the hitch. There is no way to get these bracket bent down and make them align with the hole in the bumper cover. The bumper cover (plastic) gets screwed to the brackets. You need to drill new holes. Other than that it a nice hitch.

Hitch works well, and price is great compared to dealer. Install was easy. Only item to understand is the chain attachment points are lower than hitch so sometimes drag on ground going up/down hill.
Works great! The only thing better is the hitch I bought. Both products are doing great.

It’s been two years and not one issue. Save boatloads of money purchasing fro e trailer and getting a great mechanic to install vs using my car dealer. It’s great!
