Ground clearance is 13 from bottom of hitch to the ground.

The Curt class lll hitch worked great. Seems like great quality. Michelle S. Contacted me to let me know the draw tite hutch was back ordered for a month and could they send the Curt so as not to keep me waiting. Excellent customer service! As for the web site and videos and instructions I’ve never experienced better. The follow up to make sure everything worked out is appreciated. The hitch went on without a hitch. ( couldn’t resist!). Even doing it on the ground in my driveway. Using it for a Saris bike rack.

Used it for a year. Still happy.
I was looking for a simple hitch system for a bike rack. A quick Google search find that my 2011 VW Tiguan has pre-drilled holes and welded nuts directly in the body frame. This little eTrailer hitch bolts directly to the frame w/ minor bumper facia trimming. Could not have been simpler. Now I only need a bike rack to complete the project. Great purchase and super simple installation instructions; of course, you should use a torque wrench, which I had.

Its funny. I purchased it that long ago and installed but have not used it for a bike rack yet but today I added a tongue w ball and added a trailer to haul away some old decking from a deck we just demolished.Works great love it!
I am happy with my hitch and the wiring kit. Because of the step by step videos from your website I knew upfront what I had to do to install it and the installation went very smooth. Everything was provided, no new holes needed to be drilled for the hitch. And the wiring harness connected to existing wiring without any cutting or splixing.

Loving it!

Everything is still perfect, and I still cant believe I did this on my own! LOVE IT!!!
The trailer hitch receiver arrived when promised and was very easy to install. Fit and finish was perfect.
I installed the trailer lighting kit that I purchased from ETrailer at the same time. It too was an easy installation. I did need to extend the green wire, but everything else was pretty much as expected and it worked flawlessly the first time I tried it.
I highly recommend ETrailer and will definitely be back for anything else I may need.
Like many of the guys here, I'm used to working fast on my back, one-handed in the dark before my wife gets home. I haven't towed anything yet since I am still installing the electrical kit, but it went in quickly and perfectly.
The only deviation I made from the typical Guangzhou instructions was to cut only three of the four sides of the hole in the underside of the plastic exterior. This creates a "flap" that I later trimmed back to the exact size of the part once it was in. No one wants a huge gaping hole in their backside that all sorts of things can get stuck in after years of abuse. The hole in the instructions must be way oversized in order to fit the flange that holds the receiver to the chassis. I was going to 5-axis cnc friction stir weld the flap back into its proper position, but I'll probably end up just using epoxy.

The process of installing was aided by the videos and instructions that came with the hitch. I am pleased with the quality, and excited to put it to use for my bike rack.
The hitch was a perfect fit and thanks to your video the profit wiring harness was also easy to install. For my 2013 VW Tiguan I got the Curt hitch and love the look. It is perfectly flush with the rear bumper. You are not going to bang your chins when you get item out of your trunk. VW help out by drill and anchoring the hitch bolts. I have put hitch on other cars and this was 10 times easier. No dropping down muffler and trying to get torch wrenches between frames and body panels with 2 inches of throw.

I had traded in a vehicle and have a nice Thule single carrier bike rack and wanted something for my new 2018 VW Tiguan Limited.
Watch their video installation a few times, by the time I was ready to install it it took about 20 minutes with measuring from the passenger side of the template under the bumper and boom, it was installed and tongued down in 15 minutes.
The hitch receiver shipped very quickly, and installation was easy. All the necessary hardware was provided, and with a knife (for the bumper cover) and two wrenches, I installed it in less than 20 minutes.
Bought a tiguan tow package. The videos were for a 2009 tiguan and a 2012 tuereg, which had some differences, but still very easy to hook up. Quick delivery too! Very happy with the product. Saved me 400$ at least I bet! I have to have my lights on for the trailer lights to work, which I'm not sure is 100% correct, but whatever.
