Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Great, wonderful.

Product shipped quickly and was correct parts when it arrived.

by:

This purchase was easy to make on line. The items were well described and came well packaged. Delivery was quick and contact was good all through the process.

by:
2012 ToyotaVenza

The install was easy and the product is well designed. With the 4 cyl. all wheel drive the exhaust does not need to be dropped. I would recommend this.

by:

The system fit perfectly, it had me lower the exhaust but that was not needed. Install time was less than 1/2 hour. But you do need someone to help you because it is heavy and awkward.

by:

Delivered before scheduled date and in good condition. Thanks for the great service and terrific video installation direction.

by:
2015 ToyotaVenza

Installed on '09 Venza - 6cyl, no AWD. It took 15 minutes to install w/ my wife. Was pretty easy to navigate the arms around the exhaust system without pulling the hangers.

by:

Was going to have my hitch put on by a shop. But when I called in the order it was going to be 10 to 15 days. I decided to order it from etrailer and it came in three days and took me about 20 min. to install and saved 50.00 bucks which is always good. Customer service was great will use them again in the future.

by:

Well pleased with the intire purchase. The delivery was ahead of expected ,The hitch was exactly as expected.Have not had it installed yet,but expect no problems.I am familiar with Draw-tite as I sold the brand many years ago.

by:

The Hitch was delivered before the original scheduled date. It was in good condition and included very detailed installation instuctions. A quick question from your customer service. Was answered on the first tel. ring from a a very polite lady. Keep up the good work.

by:

Your customer rep made the process easy and I was sure to get the right hitch for my car. The hitch was delivered, undamaged and as advertised. It looks good in the box but it's still over 100 degs. in South Carolina. So the install will have to wait. The directions look simple, how hard can six bolts be?
Thanks for helpful instructions below.

This receiver is exactly what I was looking for... The installation was fairly easy, for the mechanically inclined individual and someone with an extra pair of hands their to help lift it into place.

by:

I ordered this item on a Monday and I needed it for vacation on Friday. I got the hitch in only 3 days. It was packaged excellent and fit perfectly on the car.
I didn't need to lower the exhaust as the directions stated, however it was a tight fit getting the hitch in pace with the exhaust still being up.

This is the second hitch I have purchased from Etrailer and the service, fit, direction and people are top notch. I will definitely buy here again.
Thank you
Andy

by:

So far so good. Installed hitch receiver today. Instructions were good, though I did not loosen rear exhaust box. It was easier just to maneuver the receiver carefully into place than try to unclip the exhaust. Hardest part was to free the nuts and bolts on the small bars which have to be removed and replaced on AWD model. Looking forward now to getting some good use out of the item

Venza HitchE-trailer provides excellent service, the website was easy to navigate. I found exactly what I was looking for. I also like the fact that the website also gave suggestions in trailer accessories. The Venza hitch installation looks fairly simple. The muffler does not seem that difficult to remove completely. By doing so, It would make the hitch installation much more simpler by allowing more room to work. The instructions for the wiring kit is straight forward but the illustration pictures could be clearer.

by:

Went on without removing the muffler. I had read you could do it and gave it a try. I backed the car up on a set of blocks and after setting the brake, sat on the drive behind the car and with the receiver in my lap maneuvered the arms into the slots above the muffler. I let it hang on the exhaust for a minute and crawled under to line up the passenger side which was easy and put the front and back bolts in just to hold it in position. I rolled over to the drivers side and worked the back two bolts in and than put the spacer on the link and added the front bolt. I made sure everything was lined up correctly and tightened them down with a wrench as the bolts are behind the exhaust system from below. I rolled back over and tightened the passengers side after adding the shim in the link. 35 minutes total by myself.

It went great - two days to my house ground shipping after I ordered it. Third e-trailer purchase and I have been happy with all of them.

Super easy install!! Watched the video first and utilized the short-cut tips. Great group of folks at etrailer.com! Thanks!

2009 ToyotaVenza

Great customer service, very fast shipping, GREAT shipping price (FREE!!) and great price on product. Arrived in good shape, as advertised and took 25 mins to install (squirt your rubber muffler hangers with a little lube and use a large pair of pliers or "channel locks" to help them pop right off, if required, carefully use a flat head screw driver to remove the "sticker" covering the bolt holes (back two holes and furthermost forward hole for my install) then enjoy the install. Having a long extension and a swivel joint helped big time.) Install was on a 2 wheel drive 2009 Venza.

Excellent fit and the instructions on Youtube were right on. This is my third hitch for different cars. I keep coming back for a reason.

by:
2015 ToyotaVenza

The finish was not the best, many grinder marks and scrapes in the finish. Fit was good but looks like it was used.

by:
ToyotaVenza

Installed relatively easily. There are two etrailer videos to install hitches on venza. One recommended pulling off the rubber muffler insulators while the other suggested un bolting the attachments. I had a hard time getting the rubber insulators off so I was researching that and found the other etrailer video that suggested just removing the bolts... much easier and no problem getting the hitch in place. It was a little challenging getting the bolts back in once the hitch was installed, but a little grit got it done. I did it with my 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son. Took us a little over an hour and a half to install including collecting tools and doing some of it at a kids pace. I think it looks and functions great!

The hitch has performed flawlessly.

The hitch man st be avreturned item, they used it, took it off sent it back, see pictures. Yet I paid top dollar.

Super frigging sturdy, well fabricated, installed with no issues and hasn't moved since.

This hitch is beastly. We got this as a Christmas gift for my dad. He was worried about having a hitch on his car because the muffler hangs low, but the hitch is designed to fit around the muffler, adding protection to the muffler and size to the hitch. Because this hitch is bulky and heavy, it is best to have a two people install it together to help maneuver it into place. We did not need to lower the exhaust, but the driver's side was an awfully tight space to work and required a long extension for our socket wrench.

As for etrailer, I was very happy with their customer service. Originally I was going to get a different hitch but within 20 minutes of ordering it, they let me know that hitch was delayed in its shipping and offered me two alternatives that were in stock. They went above and beyond to contact me, meet my needs, and verify that I was satisified. I would definitely use them again.

2010ToyotaVenza

Easy install!! Saved almost $200 from one hitch installer and almost $300 from another. This couldn't be any better. Thanks etrailer! Really happy! With AWD on my 2010 Venza it added a few steps but the instructions were really easy to follow. Adding the lighting harness today, looks like no problem. Plug in to existing wiring, no wire splicing and a wire run to the battery. Great!

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for 2013 Toyota Venza and 2004 Toyota Matrix
Because of the upper spoiler-trim piece on the Venza, the trunk mount bike rack I recommend for your 2013 Toyota Venza and 2004 Toyota Matrix is the Hollywood Racks Over-The-Top 3 Bike Rack for Vehicles with Spoilers # HRF2-3. This bike rack is designed to take any weight, that more traditional trunk mount bike racks would place on the spoiler, off of the spoiler by moving the attachment points of the straps on the rack up higher. The # HRF2-3 can carry 3 bikes and has a weight capacity...

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation to Use with Draw Tite Hitch for 2013 Toyota Venza
For trailer wiring for your 2013 Toyota Venza you will need to start with a 4-way to provide the turn signal functions. For that you would need the part # 118482. Since you don't have trailer brakes you would then want the part # 37185 to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. To activate the 12 volt accessory circuit you will want to run a length of 10 gauge wire part # 10-1-1 through a circuit breaker like part # 9510 to the positive post of your battery. The wire to use on the # 37185 is the...

  • Curt or Draw-Tite Class III Hitch for 2015 Toyota Venza
Between the Curt # 13356 and the Draw-Tite # 75663 Class III trailer hitches for your 2015 Toyota Venza I recommend the Curt # 13356 because of its superior black powder coat finish. This finish tends to last much longer than those from other manufacturers to help extend the overall lifespan on the hitch and resist rust/corrosion. As you probably realized when looking at the two hitches, these units are otherwise pretty much identical. They are going to line right up to existing holes...

We always recommend going with a 2 inch receiver over a 1-1/4 inch receiver because you will be able to use more accessories and get more out of a 2 inch receiver. • Options for Carrying Two Hobie Kayaks with a 2009 Toyota Venza
I may have a solution that will allow you to load your Hobie Pro Angler 14 kayak on the roof rack of your 2009 Toyota Venza, but before you select a kayak carrier for your vehicle, I strongly recommend checking the weight capacity of your vehicle's roof. The weight capacity of most vehicle roofs is not very high and this information should be located in your owners manual. It is likely that you will not be able to safely load both kayaks on your roof due to the weight of both kayaks....

  • Comparing Trailer Hitch Options for a 2013 Toyota Venza
For starters I recommend going with a 2" hitch receiver over the 1-1/4" receiver for your 2013 Toyota Venza. The 1-1/4" options tend to have more restrictions as to what they can be used with when it comes to accessories. As for the Draw-Tite # 75663 and the Curt # 13356, these trailer hitches are nearly identical as they have the same weight capacities and designs. The only real difference between the 2 options is that the Curt hitch was made in the USA. I have attached installation...

If you're worried about clearance for a bike rack like the # INH120 you could use the Patriot Hitches Adjustable Drop Hitch Receiver Adapter # PH67SR to raise it up.
