I'm rating the Trailer Hitch receiver as a 5 because the instructions were excellent, it installed smoothly, and it looks and works great. My one concern is the shipping container (see attached picture) was badly damaged (and even partially open) when I received it. The product wasn't damaged but since the T-One wiring harness was inside the same box as the receiver, it could have fallen out. All turned out well but just thought you should know.
The trailer hitch was easy to install on my 2017 Highlander with accurate instructions. It required a slight modification to the plastic undercarriage cover which was easily completed. I’ve used it a few times and it has worked well.
Instructions were easy to follow.(watched online video) I backed my 2016 Highlander XLE up on ramps for easy access to install. I used a BOSCH oscillating multi-tool to cut the plastic undercarriage guards - worked great and fit perfectly around the new hitch once it was reinstalled.
BOSCH 18V impact driver with a 9” or 12” 3/8 wobble extension made quick work of the bolts around the exhaust. Very easy 45 min start to finish job if you have a few tools.

Works great! Install was easy maybe took an hour or so and a few beers lol. I use it mostly for a 2 bike rack. I have used a few time to pull our 5x8 Trailer with fire wood. maybe 1500lbs. and worked great.

Hitch arrived in a timely fashion packaged in a double wall box with handles that made carrying very easy. There were a few rips in the box but the hitch looked fine. Had a local repair shop install it which took 30 minutes. The matte finish you recommended matches the rear bumber and looks great! Saris bike rack bolted up smoothly and hitch provides clearance for power tailgate and bikes. Extremely pleased!!
Out of all the etrailer hitches I have install for myself or my friends...this one was the easiest. They are all easy but this one was the cake! Love the quality and the fit. Can't beat the price either! I decided to run my 4 pin flat outside the SUV through a rubber grommet. Cleaner look to me. :)

Ive had my hitch for an year and I have not had any problems. It is very well made the color hasnt faded and theirs no rust. I will be purchasing another one for my next vehicle.
Ordered this past December '23 for my 2016 Highlander Limited. Got around to installing it a few weeks ago. Heavy but easy install by myself using ramps. I cheated and quickly removed a cover panel on passenger rear to more easily get around the muffler. Wiring harness super easy as well. Love the matte black finish. No regrets

A year later, still looks awesome, like the hitch a lot. Matte finish is still like new, blends in very well with the bumper cover.
So far, our etrailer is working out great! It was relatively easy to install and it fit our bike rack perfectly.

Very nice hitch! Don’t spend the xtra money for the hidden one. You can barely see this one for 1/2 the cost. Almost perfect fit for my 2019 Highlander with one minor adjustment on one bolt hole. Needed to dermal it due to very slight alignment issue. Excellent step by step video on installation.
Awesome product, great fitment, even better is the price w/free shipping. The instructions were a bit brief and vague, but etrailer.com had an installation video that cleared up and confusing on removal and trimming of plastics. Easy and great experience.

So it was a relatively easy installation for my 2018 Hybrid Highlander. Hitch appears to be well built and everything fit perfectly. The real test is if it doesn't rust over the years (other consumer feedback years after purchase suggested that it won't rust!) I was able to install myself.
Instruction pictures/images could use an upgrade soon. Excellent purchase. Thank you!
Followed all instructions on video posted. Some small differences but all steps complete. 1 of 6 bolts did not not line up. Not even close. Would blame user error but took hitch off multiple times and starting with different bolts every time and always same result. Something off. Using for bike rack so imagine fine but really frustrating and makes no sense. Quality of hitch otherwise seems fine.

I cannot recommend to use the hitch without one the bolts torqued down. It sometimes takes a little finagling to get the hitch to line up with the holes. I recommend to line the hitch up first and loosely tighten the bolts by hand then torque them down alternating sides. It is also possible you received a flexed hitch. In that case, you can flex the hitch back into place before installing. If I were you I would remove the hitch and make sure the mounting brackets aren't flexed inward. I know that is not something anyone wants to hear but safety first in my opinion! Check out the link I posted about fixing a flexed hitch.

I got the trailer receiver in just a few days. I then took it to my mechanic and he had it installed within an hour. Together the hitch, and installation cost less than half of what U haul was going to charge just for installation. I am pleased completely with the hitch. It went above what was expected. My mechanic said it was built to fit tight, but was easy to install.

Nice product. Looks good on vehicle. Straight forward install. Poor packaging however! The hitch was just thrown into a cardboard box without any bubble wrap, styrofoam, etc. when I received the hitch, the box had been busted open for obvious reasons.
Install was easy enough. Good video online with instructions. Seems like solid, sturdy, build. Haven't used it yet.

I bought this trailer last year to add extra storage for a trip, and it has exceeded all expectations. The installation was much easier than anticipated, with clear instructions and everything fitting perfectly. Using it for a large hitch carrier was no challenge at all. The construction is rock solid, and it feels like it’s built to last. It has made traveling much more convenient, giving us ample space for all our gear. We’re extremely happy with the purchase—our only regret is that we didn’t invest in it sooner!
This hitch is bombproof. After one year it is still super solid. It is low profile and looks great. I’ve pulled several things with it but mostly use it for my bike rack and cargo tray. It was a lot of work to install but the instructions were detailed and accurate for my vehicle. I would definitely buy it again.

The trailer hitch arrived a day earlier than expected.The box was damaged but the hitch did not have a scratch.The instructions were very clear and to the point. The rear tow hitch on the right rear was replaced on the left rear side due to the welded tab on the trailer hitch.The cutting of the undercarriage plastic was simple. Highly recommended the product. I’ve used the trailer hitch several times over the past year and it continues to work like the day it was installed. It’s a great value
