Completely Hidden for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch is designed to be completely out of sight. The hitch cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind the body of your vehicle. No drilling or welding is required. The receiver portion of the hitch will sit just behind the factory knockout panel in your bumper. Just pop the panel off to tow and put it back on again for a from-the-factory look when you're done using the hitch.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will stand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

The fit is perfect. Following the video, installation took about 2 hours. I use it only to carry bikes on my 1up bike rack. This rack works well because you don't use a hitch pin, it's very hard to place the pin. Would recommend this WRX hitch over any other, the only thing hanging below any WRX in the rear should be nice sounding pipes! The picture shows the only body mod I had to do to get a perfect fit, just to make sure hitch didn't rub the rear body.

Its been a great year using this hitch, no issues at all, still solid as day 1. No weird sounds and a perfect fit. When my bike racks not on you dont even know its there, and the clearance this gives is great.

by:
2015 SubaruWRX

This hitch is a little pricey, but worth it! It virtually disappears behind the bumper and works really well. If you hate the look of a hitch on your car, but still want the functionality for towing or accessories, this is perfect.

Still one of the best, most useful mods I did to my WRX. A little bit of a pain to get the hitch pin in and out, but that’s the price you pay to have it completely invisible.

by:

Love the hitch. Took me awhile to install on my 15’ but worth it. Half day for hitch install for me and another half day for the wiring harness (because I ran a new home run power cable from battery to trunk). Also I installed a permanent 4 pin bracket on my bottom fascia of bumper. Very happy with it!

by:
2017SubaruWRX

My hitch was not packaged properly and had damage upon opening. See pictures. While I’m fairly certain this damage doesn’t affect the operation of the hitch, it’s very frustrating to spend this kind of money and receive a hitch packaged with literally nothing protecting it. If you are buying from outside of the US be warned that they use UPS with no signature required and no packaging.

by:
2021 SubaruWRX

In the first year of owning this trailer, it has been with me from Florida to Maine carrying coolers on a platform, it has brought our bikes to Georgia, and hauled loads of mulch.

The install on my ‘21 Subaru WRX STI was straightforward and I had no issue at all following the provided instructions. It perfectly aligns with the cutout in the bumper and is perfectly invisible when not in use, just as advertised.

I have nothing but the utmost confidence that this trailer will last the lifetime of my car or longer with its sturdiness and reliability.

by:
2019 SubaruWRX

This was on the only hitch receiver option that I could find that used the factory knockout on my 2019 WRX. I really did not want to use an under-mount receiver because of reduced clearance. Also, it would place my bike rack too close to the exhaust.

Installation was fairly complex compared to the last receiver that I installed (on a different vehicle). However, I expected this after viewing the installation video. The video was very helpful.

I have been very happy with the product so far. Placing a locking hitch pin is a bit of a pain, but I plan to leave my bike rack attached to the car most of time, so this is not a big deal for me.

No issues. Still happy with receiver.

I am extremely happy with the speedy delivery of my tow hitch. Thank you Jamie was a great with customer service.
I am going to recommend e. Trailers to my friends and family. Thank you again for the awesome experience.

by:

installation was simple enough. Noticed my exhaust hangers were hitting against the hitch and making noise. I fixed it by wrapping thick rubber around the hangers with zip ties. Would be nice if the hitch came with a rubber gasket.

by:

I have a 2017 Subaru STI and this fits like a dream. Make sure you have a 2-3 hours to do this because the entire back of your car needs to come off but it's definitely worth it. Only the ball hitch is visible when you choose to haul something. Any other time it's invisible. Peep the pics

by:

This product is great quality and was a perfect fit. The support videos really helped with installation. Also this hitch is great as you can't even tell it's there when I'm not using it, I would absolutely recommend it.

by:
2020 SubaruWRX

Took 2.5 hours. The bolt fishing was easy, but the inner bolt definitely spins. Wrench taped to a broom held it just fine (didn’t have a long breaker bar).

Also would be helpful to have a deep socket 14mm for the bumper/cross member removal (the long stud had me using a box wrench instead)

With the right tools, would have been easier but still got it done! The fit is absolutely perfect. Great product

by:

Simply amazing!
No rattles, great fitment
and above all a great video delineating all the details on every screw and clamp removal. I did this on my own without raising the car on jack stands or even dropping the rear hanger bushing. Total install time thanks to the video was under 2 hours and that included cleanup!
Also the hitch was delivered quickly so I got a jump on it before the weekend came. Very happy with etrailer and this hitch. I’ve gotten a few from etrailer already including one for my S2000 a few years ago that worked perfectly.

Thank you

by:

I'm very happy with this product, and it met my expectations. I usually load up a rooftop tent for camping, so that leaves no room for my mountain bikes. I wanted to make my WRX more capable to being an overall great car for outdoor activities by adding this ecohitch. Now I can also add a basket to load more cargo if necessary. Installation was easy to follow, and I recommend having at least one person to help you. It will make the installation process a lot easier. I also found the etrailer installation video very helpful and easy to follow.

by:

I like it a lot. It’s nice how if I don’t want it to be seen then I can take the ball out and out the cover in and nobody will know I even have a hitch. But the hitch has worked great. My only issue is it’s difficult to get the pin in for the ball hitch but that’s a minor issue. And I expected that from getting the hitch that’s hidden. So I have no complaints.

by:
2015 SubaruWRX

Love it. The Q&A on this site it sounded like I wasn't going to be able to use my Thule T2 Pro XT rack but with an adapter (I got a high-low adapter, you could use an extender as well but I wanted the smallest adapter I could find which ended up being a 4-inch high-low for ~$60) I was able to make it work. The only downside to this method is that it causes the hitch to stick pretty far out from the back of the car (pictured).

Installation wasn't that bad, it ended up taking two days because I stripped the bolts on the actual bumper and that took me forever to figure out but if not for that this was probably about 3 hours to install with no mechanical know-how.

by:
2020 SubaruWRX

Absolutely amazing trailer hitch, very easy to install and very robust unit. Quality material was used, I feel like I could load up a car hauler and drag around stuff in my WRX. This will be used for a bike rack but during the install I said “this is overkill but for the price, it’s worth it”. Would recommend this to anyone. Someone with e 10mm, 14mm, and a 19mm socket could easily install this on a nice day with a drink of your choice.

by:
2016 SubaruWRX

Fits perfectly and install was straight forward! A ratchet strap is helpful in positioning the hitch during installation, and make sure to remove the two rear most exhaust hangers prior to installing so the hitch can slide in.

by:

This hitch is incredible! Easy install if you have some background in working on cars because there is a lot to disassemble and reassemble. However the amount of work is so worth it to have this hitch hidden up behind the bumper.

by:
2015 SubaruWRX

Solid product. Only complaint is the restricted access to the hitch pin. Not really a valid complaint because you can clearly see this will be the case before buying. Make a small cut away from the underside of your bumper and getting your hand is is doable but still not easy.

Overall happy with the construction and material available for technical support on the web.

by:

I’ve bought two hitches for two cars one was a 2019 Subaru cross trek and the other 2020 Subaru WRXSTI. Delivery was only a few days not too bad considering it ships from Missouri and I live in California. Excellent quality and excellent fit. It only took me a half hour for the cross track and about 3 Hours for the WRX. Watching the videos were Very helpful. Thank you, Mitch.

by:

Really easy to install and durable product! Really solid fitment on a 2020 wrx sti. I highly recommend cutting the bottom of your bumper to make placing trailer pins less of a chore.

by:
2016 SubaruWRX

The whole installation took about 5 hours with a lift and shop full of tools. Fit perfectly and the video instructions make it a breeze. the written instructions left a little to be desired with the pictures but the site has plenty of those.

by:
Subaru Forester

It’s been a year since installation. I use it for my bike rack on my ‘21 WRX. Install was done by myself and was a little more involved than my Forester and Outback installations but the clean look is totally worth it.

by:

Install took some time but went smoothly. Instructions were very well written but omitted a detail about the bumper cover fasteners in the wheel wells. A few minutes online got that sorted, but I would have liked for the instructions to include that detail, since you truly cannot remove the bumper cover without removing those fasteners. If you’re mechanically inclined, this is a fairly straightforward installation, and I’m very happy with the end result.

by:

Installation was straightforward, just follow the video. Love the stealth mounting on my WRX, very clean appearance. Works perfectly with my 1up USA rack.

  • Is EcoHitch Invisi Hitch Receiver Available for a 2023 Subaru WRX
Hey Jeffrey, thanks for reaching out! The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH65SR is the only option from EcoHitch for your 2023 Subaru WRX. This differs from the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7257 you were looking at in that the Stealth has a removable receiver that sits below the bumper. When securing the Stealth receiver to your WRX there is actually a bolt you'll need to tighten down and you'll use that hole in your bumper you referenced to accomplish this. I...

It installs by plugging inline with the taillight connectors of your vehicle. You will also need a ball mount like the # 3371803307 which comes with a 2 inch ball and a pin and clip and you'd be set.

The EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7257 is a great option for a 2018 Subaru WRX. The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack part # SH22B measures 1-5/8" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the shank to it will work.

While we do have an option for you to carry bikes with your 2019 Subaru WRX, the RockyMounts SplitRail LS 2-Bike Rack # RKY11404 you asked about requires the hitch pin hole be 1-1/2 inches away from the end (face) of the receiver, though this measurement is 1-1/8 (1.125) inches for the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7257.
