I installed this on a 2022 Nissan Leaf with no issues. Installation is much easier with a friend, as the hitch itself is quite heavy. The small amount of trimming was not a problem, though you may want to trim a bit further to prevent any troubles upon reinstallation. The hitch has only been used for a bike rack so far, but no issues there! Thanks etrailer!

Trailer hitch fit the mounting points perfectly. All the bolts were the correct size and the installation instructions were clear. I installed the hitch with the car on jack stands. Used the jack to lift the hitch into place while I placed the nuts on the bolts.

Perfect for accessories like bike racks. Install was relatively straightforward, even for a first timer. It took me just under 3 hours, as someone who's never installed anything like this before. The biggest hurdle to installation was the fish wire, so definitely put a bend in it to help you fish it out the access hole. After installation, I'm glad it doesn't stick out too far out or under; the hitch receiver looks great!

The hitch receiver itself is good. It does the job perfectly. The only downside is the horrid single stage paint job that starts rusting out within only a few short months. And not just where the hitch contacts the receiver, I mean everywhere.

Fits perfectly, and was not too hard to install. I waited a little while to review this so I could test it out, make sure there was no long term issue.
When installing, one of my bolts holding the tow bracket on broke loose of its weld,and required that I cut the bolt off,which was not too difficult, but be aware and be ready to do this as it is a possibility.
Tows my new trailer very well. I found a 6" rise did the trick for me, though that may vary based on your trailer. The most I have towed is about 700lbs, though it feels capable of far exceeding that. I would be cautious of not exceeding the tongue weight though, as the car is a unibody design.
The instructions are not the best, and you will need to widen one of the holes for the rectangular spacer to fit. There is a good [online] video out there that shows this very well

I only use this hitch with a bicycle carrier and it's rock solid. I'm sure it would work well with a small trailer. A local mechanic installed it for me in under 20 minutes. The installation instructions and video were great. I could probably have done this task myself but it's so much easier with a lift.

Got a hitch with defective support plate. Called customer service who stated a replacement wasn’t available for over a month at best. Now I have to decide to accept a very modest 10% and have the part fixed at my own expense by a machine shop or wait at least a month.
Won’t buy from ETRAILER again. Left without a working option and wasted my time.

Fits my 2016 Nissan Leaf perfectly, no drilling. Took me about 3 hours to install in my garage without jacking the car up. You’d need a torque wrench if you want to follow the specs precisely, but no other special tools were required. The hitch did have a few scratches with a bare metal exposed on the side that sits flush with the car body, so I simply applied a little Rustoleum to avoid an corrosion.

Very pleased with this purchase. The vehicle design (2018 Nissan Leaf SL) makes hitch installation tricky, but this hitch comes with everything needed to make it as easy as possible. It includes all the required hardware and a fish to help get the bolts through the frame. There are helpful videos out there to learn how to install it. Looks great (and mostly hidden) when installed. You have to make a small cutout in an underbody panel but that's not at all visible unless you're looking under the car.

Installed this in less than an hour on my 2018 leaf. The hitch bracket for the passenger side was slightly warped from shipping. A couple of wacks with a rubber mallet put it back into alignment. Other than that, the install was straight forward. There is no tow hook on the 2018 so you will need to visit your local hardware store for a bolt, M12X1.25 , 45mm length worked fine. This is for the passenger side alignment ear. Very sturdy product, excellent service and fast shipping from Etrailer!

I had my mechanic install this, and while it took him 3 hours because of the special wiring needed for a Nissan Leaf, the end result is beautiful.
I am super pleased with this hitch and would recommend it to anyone comfortable putting a hitch on a Leaf.

After watching a video of how to install it, and orienting myself with the underside of the vehicle (Nissan Leaf), the instillation went without "a hitch".
There were a few times of returning to the video, but pretty straight forward.
I can't remember the time it took, but I would say under two hours from start to finish.. including cutting the plastic shroud on the underside of the vehicle for the hitch to fit/stick out the back.
It is VERY solid! I use the hitch strictly for a heavy 4 bike rack, and it supports it quite easily.
I would highly recommend this product and etrailer.com! They had the best price by far for this hitch, and delivery was quick!

Nice fit, straightforward install. The driver's side, forward bolt/nut insertion inside the frame is awkward, found a better way than the instructions depict.
Installed many hitches in my career as an RV tech, so I saw one area of concern - The vertical plate on the driver's side rear mount, only bolts into a thin sheet metal panel. Not much support, was afraid that the stresses would rip the sheet metal . I made a plate so the hitch would clamp the thin metal with an additional bolt and would also carry the load to an existing (though smaller), frame bolt. Would have been a simple thing for the manufacturer to include.

Install of hitch went fine. The rectangular washers that were fished through the frame required a little shaping on a grinding wheel to fit through the holes, but I'm set up for messing with a little handfitting.

Unable to install myself due to my disability but Etrailer listed installers in my area. Called them found one that was available to install it for me. Fit perfectly it's good for bike rack or to move my toe dolly around.

Ordered this for our 2019 Nissan Leaf so that we could put a hitch-mount bike rack on it. Our son very thoughtfully installed it while we were on vacation. So, I don't have personal experience with the install. He said it wasn't that hard, though it would have been easier if someone had been there to help. It has worked well for our Kuat 2-bike rack. It is nice to be able to avoid using an ICE when we take our bikes places.

The service from etrailer was excellent. The hitch arrived undamaged in a timely manner, and all parts were accounted for.
I have a new style 2018 Nissan Leaf. For the most part everything fits, however the instructions need updating. The 2018 model has no tow hook to remove and the hitch interfered with the bottom cover slightly, so I wasn't able to fasten one of the push pins. Shouldn't be a problem however as everything else fits snug. I plan to use the 2" hitch mostly as a bike carrier, and to possibly tow a small boat.
Overall I'm happy that I can use my bike carrier with my new Leaf.

Overall the hitch is working great. However, the hardware provided was not properly sized for the 2020 Nissan Leaf it was being installed on. I don't remember exactly what the problem was with the bolts but I was having it installed by professionals who had proper hardware so it wasn't much of an issue. The garage didn't charge me for the correct hardware, yay.
Other than the hardware it fit like a champ and has faithfully carried my bike rack and bikes.

This brand didn’t do all their homework. The powder coating is thin and already showing rust but more importantly on the Nissan Leaf EV there is a ton of room to hide the hitch better where most cars have a muffler in the way. Instead it requires cutting more plastic than should have been necessary and their template did not result in a large enough cutout. The hitch also needs another half inch of length for fingers to pull the pin more easily. The hitch does work well once installed and other than cutting the valance install was easy

The product's powder coating had multiple scratches down to bare metal. The packaging was pretty lack luster with lots of room for the item to be jostled and damaged in transport.
The product itself is fine and looks like it will perform as expected.

After a year, its still going strong. We used this to pull a covered UHaul trailer for an in-town move and had zero problems.
