It came packaged properly and with all the materials included.
The dealer wanted to charge $[XX] dollar for the hitch + $[XX] to install it.
It was installed within an hour and I saved $[XX]
For all of you driveway mechanics, remove the muffler, it will make the install much easier. Also make sure you remove the clips on the rear bumper, you will have to pry it out of the way to slide the hitch up and inside. The fit is excellent, love the flush look of this hitch. It took me a few hours to get it done, if I did it again knowing what I know now it would take about an hour.

Works great! Use it all the time. Short day trips and long road trips. Highly recommended.
Great service and install instructions were spot on. Installed in under 30 min. Hardest part is getting the exhaust rubber mounts loose....perfect fit and looks great..

Great fit and easy to install hitch , the first eTrailer installation video is very helpful.
When installing the hitch on my 2021 Mazda CX-5, I found it easiest to remove the rear muffler assembly. Even when the muffler was lowered per the installation instructions it was impossible to fit it into place.
Removing the lightweight muffler assembly is easy (remove two 14mm-9/16" nuts and the four rubber hanging mounts). This gives you lots of space for hitch installation and tightening the four mounting bolts (the front two thread into nuts already mounted inside the frame rail).
I just installed this hitch so it's too soon to describe my experience with it. However it appears well built, has a good finish, included all necessary hardware, and etrailer.com provided fast delivery.

It works so well I don’t even have to think about it. The finish seems to be holding up well, too.
I had this installed by a third party. Took them 20 minutes! Overall, I am pleased with the etrailer service and hitch. It fits perfectly under my 2022 Mazda CX-5. I only intend to lug around a bike rack so it should be more than enough for that purpose.

I have been using this hitch for over a year and it continues to work flawlessly. The hitch is installed on a Mazda CX-5 and is primarily used for my bike rack. I have not attempted to pull a trailer or any heavy loads. It certainly meets my expectations and was the perfect solution for my situation…plus it was cheaper and more available than the Mazda version.
The hitch fit my Mazda CX5 perfectly! It was a little tricky wire pulling the bolts through the frame and through the rear mounting holes. In all it took two of us 2 hours to do the installation

Very good. - no issues whatsoever
I've bought 3 etrailer hitches. Unfortunately, two of them were installed on vehicles that I later totalled. (Ugh) Anyway, they all worked well, arrived expeditiously after ordering, and were fairly easy to install. Workmanship of all three were excellent - dimensionally accurate, high quality welds, and so forth. Pricing was WAY WAY WAY less than the thieves at the car dealerships. So buy one!

With the help of the etrailer video I installed the hitch on my 2018 Mazda CX-5 by myself, in my garage without any special equipment. I was extremely happy with the product, service and outcome. What made all the difference in my choice was how the main bar of the hitch is tucked up under the rear valence and all you see is the receiver, and that doesn't protrude too far. I use the hitch for a bike rack, but am considering trying my hand at the light kit, so I could also use a small utility trailer at times.

Great product, easy to install and its performing well.
Great solid hitch. Recommend removing exhaust & installing the rear bolts with the fish wire after securing the hitch in place with the front threaded bolts. Oil & grease all bolts as you go for added protection.
High quality steel and great, durable finish. Install was easy enough with my cx-5 on jack stands in my garage. Recommend a creeper if not on a lift. So grateful for the etrailer installation video!
This is my first ever trailer hitch for my midsize SUV. I wanted it for attaching my bike rack for biking trips. I found etrailer through an online search. It’s been a year since I purchased, and had installed, my trailer hitch from etrailer. It’s still looking good and working great. I’ve even added a Seattle Seahawks decorative cover to it for when it’s not in use. It looks great on my car and i continue to be pleased with my purchase from etrailer.
I installed the hitch receiver in a short afternoon today. The video provided by etrailer was extremely helpful to me, and made the job go much faster and easier. I did this with the vehicle not on a hoist. A floor jack and some 2x4 wood pieces helped, not having a second person. I am 76 years old.The wiring is next.
The trailer is staying hitched to the car. What could be better?

Well, Ive been using it for a year, and its been holding up well. To tell the truth, I dont pay much attention to it, which in itself is probably teh best recommendation of all.
Easy install this hitch on my '22 CX-5, under one hour. OK, i didn't do it but a local installer working without a car lift. He just had a conveniently sized block of wood to support the exhaust and a jack to take the hitch weight, otherwise it was pretty much the same as the etrailer video, and I watched him all the time. As we know, the rubber exhaust bushings need to go back on the vehicle hangers before the hitch. I liked that the kit came with nicely made fish wires, so installing the two in-frame bolts appeared to be easy.

One year later. All good. Im satisfied that I made the right choice.
This is a strange review to write. The hitch, itself, is top notch. A five star unit. That said, the package arrived with the hitch broken through the packing in 3 places. Because of that, it was missing some hardware, a problem I didn't see until my vehicle was on stands with the exhaust dangling. Very frustrating and cost two stars. Packaging needs to be improved.
Fits well and installation videos were very helpful. Instructions were clear but didn't really need them because of the videos.
YOu will need to raise the back of the car to make it easier. I used my oil chaneg ramps to get it another 8" off the ground.
Once again etrailer.com delivers. My goto place to trailer stuff for years now. Was in an accident which totaled my Jeep last month. New (used) car didn't come with a hitch. Only ordered the hitch for now. Not sure if I'll end up wiring it but if I do I'll be back here for the wiring kit. For now just intend to use it for bike rack and cargo basket. Love the install videos specifically on each vehicles install. My car must have less options because I didn't have some wires that were shown to be in the way. I considered it time saving. Struggled a little getting the bolts fished in but made it happen. Loved the tip about taping the flat washer spacers to the hitch prior to installing. Had the kids come out and assist with getting the hitch in place. I assume this is much easier with a lift but I'm working in a driveway on ramps. Fairly quick install. Looks great tucked up under there. Shipped quick and came mostly unscathed. A 33lb steel hitch with a plethora of odd angles and sharp corners is bound to wreck havoc during shipping. Thanks for the quick shipping and always great service.
Another great hitch from etrailer!
Installed one on a Rav4 and now on a CX5.
Both hitches were well made and kits had all the necessary bits for a trouble free install. Video instructions were key with the CX5.
The quality of the lift is outstanding. Hardware quality is also great.
Note - be careful using the wire to insert the bolt/washer into the frame. One of the wires broke on mine. We used twine as a backup, but getting the bolt out from inside the frame to retry inserting it correctly was a chore.
Great reinforced steel hitch and perfect for my 2016 Mazda CX-5. Installation was easy, would recommend pre-setting the washers with tape on the inside. Made it much easier! Love that it came with all the nuts and bolts too.

Worked great all summer hauling bikes around!!!
The hitch itself is nice and sturdy but shipping was terrible. My hitch came all scratched up and I had to repaint it before I installed it. Customer service was somewhat helpful as they paid for the paint but I had to do it myself. They offered to replace it but said it would most likely be all scuffed up because it is now they are stored at the warehouse. If I were to do it again I would try a different seller.
Definitely needed a second set of hands, would've been tough by myself. Not a huge deal at all with a little help though. Take your time and use the hints in the video and you'll be fine.
This is the first trailer hitch I’ve owned but it has been very useful for my bike rack.
