Appears to be very well made with nice looking welds. Very easy to install. I installed it by myself supporting the hitch on my jack. I did not know how heavy the exhaust wood be, not heavy at all. I see no reason to remove the muffler.I used large channel locks and pry bar to separate the rubber muffler mounts. It took a lot of effort to reattach the rubber mounts even with lube.
Great fit for my vehicle. Removing the rear bumper cover probably wasn’t necessary, but I had to replace mine anyway, which made an already easy installation easier. Definitely make sure to put the rubber hangers back onto the vehicle hooks before mounting. If I hadn’t had the clearance to reach in from the top (because my bumper cover was off), I’d have had to lower the back of the mount again to re-fit them. Solid product.

Purchased for my daughter / son-in-law's 2014 Maxda CX5 as they like to camp, have dogs and are always cramped for space. It's great for use with a hitch mounted cargo carrier or hitch mounted bike rack. Product arrived undamaged (though corner of hitch assembly was protruding from the box...a stronger box or a hard liner for the box would be better). It took my son-in-law and I about 2 hours to install; we took our time. Watching the install video is important and I recommend thoroughly reading instructions and ensuring a good understanding of the process (ex: understanding "teeth on the washers" is an easily missed detail that can be understood too late). I needed my SIL's set of hands to help hold the hitch assembly as it came time to bolt it to the frame. All else can be a one-person job. We jacked the car up about 15-inches and that helped with installation...but you could install without jacking the car. Overall, very pleased with the product, the accurate instructions and the relative ease of installation. It sounds a little more difficult than it is!

Rick, I love your photo. What a sweet thing to do for your daughter and son-in-law. What kind of dogs do they have? I have a small shi-poo (shih tzu poodle mix) so I don't have to worry about space as much when traveling. They are definitely going to need a cargo carrier for all their camping gear. I am happy to make a recommendation if you want.

It has been better than expected!!! It was worth what I paid for it and $800 less than what the dealer wanted to charge for it!!
Great hitch. The step-by-step video instructions from etrailer made it a remarkably simple install. It's solid and allows us to easily travel with bike racks, cargo racks, tow small trailers, etc. Would recommend buying from etrailer any time (as long as you have a little bit of DIY skill. WAY less expensive than what I was quoted to install a hitch receiver from others.
The hitch was relatively easy to install, we use it to haul a bike rack and it works very well.

Installation was great. All of the holes lined up perfectly. The installation video was spot-on. I needed a friend to help me lift it into place. I am a very capable shade tree mechanic. Car noobs should have a friend help them.

Installed on my 2021 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring. I have used etrailer in the past for other trailer hitches, and they always have the best customer service. They include fantastic, detailed, and thorough instructions. The installation was accurately described in its' difficulty - this specific installation wasn't the easiest, but with a little persistence and determination, you can get it done. 11/10 I always recommend etrailer and will continue to come back for my future vehicles!
Everything was fine except shipping. Delivered a bit beat up but that's not the sellers fault

Great fit and easy to install hitch , the first eTrailer installation video is very helpful.
This is a strange review to write. The hitch, itself, is top notch. A five star unit. That said, the package arrived with the hitch broken through the packing in 3 places. Because of that, it was missing some hardware, a problem I didn't see until my vehicle was on stands with the exhaust dangling. Very frustrating and cost two stars. Packaging needs to be improved.
This is the second receiver I have purchased from eTrailer and installed myself.
Fit and finish on both were EXCELLENT! AND...the YouTube install video (done BY / AT eTrailer) was superlative. (The written instructions made perfect sense AFTER I watched the video).
I have personally recommended your company to a dozen folks since this second install...keep up the good work!

If you’re a DIYer without access to a vehicle lift, installing the hitch will require some patience. I used a floor jack to raise the hitch to the proper height, which made it easier to secure the mounting hardware.
For all of you driveway mechanics, remove the muffler, it will make the install much easier. Also make sure you remove the clips on the rear bumper, you will have to pry it out of the way to slide the hitch up and inside. The fit is excellent, love the flush look of this hitch. It took me a few hours to get it done, if I did it again knowing what I know now it would take about an hour.

Works great! Use it all the time. Short day trips and long road trips. Highly recommended.
This receiver is only used for a ski rack and it has functioned well as such. The installation was a little more involved than other receivers I've installed but this was due to the vehicle is a compact SUV. After getting one side done the other was much faster and I learned some techniques for future work. My recollection was that the video or pics were a great help.

Great...I only use the hitch for attaching a skisnowboard rack.
With the help of the etrailer video I installed the hitch on my 2018 Mazda CX-5 by myself, in my garage without any special equipment. I was extremely happy with the product, service and outcome. What made all the difference in my choice was how the main bar of the hitch is tucked up under the rear valence and all you see is the receiver, and that doesn't protrude too far. I use the hitch for a bike rack, but am considering trying my hand at the light kit, so I could also use a small utility trailer at times.
We were able to get an appointment quickly.
They were very nice, friendly and helpful.
We would definitely recommend them.

Still working great!!, No problems and have used it many times through the year..
High quality steel and great, durable finish. Install was easy enough with my cx-5 on jack stands in my garage. Recommend a creeper if not on a lift. So grateful for the etrailer installation video!
The hardest parts was making sure the washers stay between the hitch side plate and the frame. No issues otherwise and looks great on the car with the hidden cross-tube.
Great product easy to install. Instructions were clear and understandable. Good price for complete kit.
This hitch receiver has worked perfectly to hold a 4 bike rack on my Mazda CX-5 (2021)!
Great Hitch. Works great and easy to install. You may want to think how you package the products for shipping though, as it was exploding out of the box and a little scratched up upon arrival.
