Fully welded Kia Telluride trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver here on a 2022 Kia Telluride. So, this is what our trailer hitch is gonna look like installed on our Telluride. As you can see here, it actually has a hidden design meaning the cross tube is actually hidden behind the bumper here, so the only thing we are gonna be able to see is the actual receiver tube. This is gonna give us a more factory like install look and also the best possible ground clearance. Now, the trailer hitch is actually coated with a black powder coat, and this is gonna help protect it from rust and corrosion over time being that it is on the underside of the vehicle. So, adding a trailer hitch to your Telluride is gonna be an excellent option because it's gonna make your vehicle that much more versatile.
Now, we can obviously use a trailer hitch for towing but if we wanted to hit the trails or free up some space inside the vehicle for the family on those long road trips, we could easily attach either a hitch-mounted bike rack, or a hitch-mounted cargo carrier. So, in regards to towing, the trailer hitch here has a 5000 pound gross trailer weight rating. That's the amount we can pull outward on the receiver and also has a 500 pound tongue weight rating that's gonna be the downward force on the receiver. Now, keep in mind these capacities are for the hitch only, which is tested separately off the vehicle therefore, we need to verify the vehicles towing capacity and abide by the lower of the two rated components, whether that's the trailer hitch or the vehicle. Your vehicle's towing capacity can be easily found in your owner's manual.
Now, also keep in mind we can use this trailer hitch with a weight distribution system, and our hitch capacities do increase but we still can't go over the vehicle's rated towing amount. So, we do have a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, which is an industry standard. It's also the most popular and most widely used. Therefore, we're gonna have a great variety of those hitch mounted accessories to choose from such as ball mounts and bike racks and cargo carriers. There's really gonna be a plenty of choices due to the larger opening.
So, if we take a closer look at the side of the receiver tube, you're gonna see we're gonna have our five/eight diameter hitch pin hole. So, that's an industry standard size again as well, so it's gonna work with a five/eight inch diameter hitch pin and clip. Keep in mind the pin and clip doesn't actually come with the hitch. A lot of your accessories you guys purchase are actually gonna come with their own. So, most of the times you don't need to worry about buying one of these separately.
And then welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, you're gonna have our safety chain tab. So, that's gonna work with both the larger clevis style as well as the smaller S-type. Now, we've got a couple of measurements for you guys here. They're gonna help you when you're selecting your hitch mounted accessories. The first one is the distance from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube opening. That's gonna be right at 14 inches and that'll be useful when you're selecting a ball mount that way you can make sure you get the correct rise and drop to tow your trailer level. And then we have the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper, and that's gonna be right at about three inches. And that'll be useful when you're selecting your folding accessories. That way you can make sure that while the accessories are folded in your favorite position, that they don't contact the vehicle. So, in regards to installation, this is definitely something for a do it yourself or a weekend warrior. This is a pretty easy to install hitch. There's gonna be no modifications, no cutting, drilling or welding whatsoever. Now, you can probably do this on the ground at home. You really don't need to lift the vehicle up at all. If you have a set of ramps you can back onto great, that'll give you more room to work but you can still easily do this on the ground. Now, in regards to those tools required, most common hand tool sets are gonna have everything you need. There's one you might not have and that's going to be a torque wrench. But you can actually rent these for free from most local auto parts stores, they have a rental tool program, so that should be pretty easy for you guys to obtain. In regards to the time it's gonna take you, that's gonna vary depending on your experience, I would say. Anywhere around an hour should have you covered. So, the first step of our installation, we're gonna open up the hatch on our vehicle here, and grab a couple of tools. We're gonna need a 21 millimeter socket and we're going to need a flat-head screwdriver. Once we have those we'll go ahead and lift up on this panel here, set that aside. Now down in here, you're gonna see a little flap there labeled spare tire. We're gonna take our screwdriver, pry that cover off and then we're gonna be loosening this nut here with our socket, which is going to lower the winch, so we can remove the spare tire from the vehicle temporarily. Now, we're gonna come underneath the vehicle on the driver's side, we're gonna remove a trim panel, this one right here. So, in order to remove this, we're gonna take our flat base screwdriver, we used from earlier. There's gonna be three of these little push fasteners here on the bottom. Just simply pry out the center section and then remove the rest of it just like so, pretty easy to get out. Now, once we have those three removed, you should just be able to pull the panel straight down and out. Now, if you fight with these little fasteners up here a little bit, you can get a trim panel tool and try to loosen them. And there we go. Now, we're gonna go ahead and lower our exhaust here. So, the first thing we need to do is take some support device. If you're working on the ground, you can use a Jack stand or a couple blocks of wood, really anything we have to prop the muffler up, prevent it from falling down too far. If you're in the air, we're just gonna use a cam buckle strap here. Just find two points on the frame there, pull it nice and tight. Now next, in order to help us remove the hangers from the rubber isolators, we're gonna take a spray lubricant. So, for this particular vehicle here, we're gonna have two hangers, one on the very back side and then one which is a little bit harder to see here on the side. Now, in order to get these metal hangers out from the rubber isolator, and we can use it the bottom here or we can go at the top. I think I'm gonna do the top something since its only one. We are gonna go ahead and spray it down as best we can and then we're gonna take either a pry tool or an actual an actual exhaust hanger removal tool, and we'll just simply pry it out as best we can. We don't have a ton of room for this on this one, so I may not be able to use it. See if I can get a different angle. Yeah, I don't think that one's gonna work too good. So I'm actually just gonna get a pry bar here, sort of pry off like this as best as we can. There we go. That's the one at the rear and then we have that one on the side, which is a little bit harder to see. And there we go. As you can see here, you can pull down our exhaust a little bit, we're gonna have much more room to work. Now, if you wanted more room, you could actually go a step further and you remove this hanger here. You guys don't have to do this but I want to be able to show you as much of this as we can. So, what we're gonna do is, we're actually gonna remove this as well, just to give ourselves more room to work more room for you guys to see but again, it's certainly not required. So, now we're just about ready to actually lift our trailer hitch into position. Now, what we want to do is, we are gonna go ahead and prep our hardware. Now on the driver's side over here, we're gonna be taking two of our 1/2 grade five bolts, these are the silver bolts, and then two of the 1/2 conical tooth washers. So, these are gonna install on the driver's side. They're gonna go from the outside of the frame pointed in. And now over on the passenger side, we're gonna have this M12 grade eight hex bolt here, that's that yellow-zinc finish on there and a 1/2 inch flat washer. And this one is gonna go inside the frame facing out. So, we're gonna start with the driver's side and then secure the passenger side. Now, with an extra set of hands, we can go ahead and set the hitch on the vehicle. You're gonna have to come up and over the exhaust over there on the passenger side first. So, this side's always a little bit tricky because that heat shield is there. I did these a couple of times and I've gotten hung up on that every time. But I do have it sturdy enough to hold it in place, I think next I'm gonna come back with a hammer and just slightly tap that in there. You may try to bend this heat shield up a little bit but they're usually not too difficult, they just take a little bit of extra persuading. Now, what I recommend doing as well is kind of sliding that flat washer closest the face of the hitch there and then we'll come back with our hammer. And it doesn't take a lot at all, just a little bit to get past that heat shield cause that's what's hanging up on, so you're not damaging anything. It really doesn't think much force at all I was just barely hitting that and you can see now it seated it all the way. So, now that we have all of our hex bolts in place, we're gonna come back over here to the driver's side, you're gonna take another 1/2 inch conical tooth washer and then you're gonna take a 1/2 inch hex nut. Now, keep in mind we do have one M12 hex nut and then two 1/2 inch. So, make sure you're grabbing the 1/2 inch ones. They are kind of hard to tell apart, so just try to thread them all into the bolt there you shouldn't have any resistance. And we have another one over here, same thing 1/2 inch conical tooth washer and 1/2 inch hex nut. And then on the other side there, we're gonna do that same thing but on the outside of the frame. We're gonna be using a 1/2 inch conical tooth washer and then our M12 hex nut. Now if we look on the bottom of the frames of the hitch here directly under the frame, we should have two weld nuts that are gonna line up these holes here. You may need to shift the hitch back and forth or side to side in order to get those lined up. But once we do, we're gonna take our M10 hex bolts and our seven 16th inch conical tooth washers to secure them to the weld nut on the bottom of the frame just like so. And again, we have two on each side, it's the same thing over on the passenger side, although a little bit harder to see since we have our muffler in the way. Now, we're ready to tighten and torque all of our fasteners down since we have everything installed. We're gonna start on the driver's side with our two 1/2 inch bolts up top using a 3/4 inch socket and wrench. And then for the two M10 Hex bolts on the bottom, we'll use a 16 millimeter socket. Now, over on the passenger side of the vehicle here, everything is gonna be the same for the exception of our M12 hex bolt up top here, that's gonna require a 19 millimeter socket and wrench, and it's gonna have a different torque spec as well. But these two on the bottom here will be the same as the other side. I'll go ahead and torque that one down as well. Now, with everything torqued down, a couple of things left, make sure we go ahead and raise our exhaust back up into position re-install your spare tire and re-install this driver's side panel here. But once that's done, that's gonna do it today for our look and installation of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver here on our 2022 Kia Telluride..

Fully welded vehicle trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection. This hitch, like every other hitch I've bought over the years from etrailer.com, was a perfect fit for my 2020 Palisade. The directions are thorough and all hardware is included. I was able to install mine solo without having to lift my vehicle. I used two jack stands to balance the hitch as I moved it into position. Once you get the top bolts in place "it ain't going anywhere". Torqued everything down to specs. Was pleasantly surprised I didn't need use any pivot extenders / etc. Everything fit nicely with 17mm and 19mm sockets, 17mm and 19mm open end wrenches, and a torque wrench to finish it off.
Very easy to order, product mounted to the vehicle without any issues. Excellent quality and easy install after following etrailer video.
Fit a 2022 Kia Telluride SX perfectly. No cutting of the bumper. No cutting any trim etc. Watch the video that etrailer made. It walks you through the process perfectly. The bolt on the passenger side WILL fit past the heat shield. Put the washer against the opening first then put the bolt through. It will go with a little pressure. The silicon lubricant helps to get the muffler hangers off. Undo the two muffler hangers near the bumper and the one in the middle. Have a rest for the muffler at this point. You can slide the rubber muffler brackets off by hand if you spray them first. No tool needed. Get it at any auto parts store. This can be done alone but if you have a helper to get the bolts through while you hold the hitch it helps. Total install took me about an hour and a half. Bring your iPad with you and pause the video as you do each step. Average Joe can do this.
good except the hitch was sticking out of the packaging in a couple areas when it arrived and scraped the paint off a couple small areas. These were not going to be visible once it was installed, so I installed it as-is and will use some touch up paint.
This is the a
second hitch from E-trailer. Easy to install and excellent in use. You can not go wrong trusting this company and their products!
This item was installed on a '21 Hyundai Palisade with the Calligraphy Trim level. It fit perfectly with NO trimming required to the rear bumper lower edge. This is an important fact as the similar Drawtite prduct does NOT fit on the Calligraphy version of the Palisade without trimming. We also appreciated the excellent customer service demonstrated when we needed to do an exchange from Drawtite to Curt.
This does NOT fit a 2020 Palisade. Install was easy enough but as you can see from the picture the metal piece is pushing up into the bumper causing it to deform. There is no way around this unless you are willing to cut into the bumper. I would not recommend this hitch to anyone with a Palisade. It was obviously designed for another vehicle.
Shipping was very fast and the product was as-described. Fit and finish were excellent!!
High quality, great hitch. etrailer was super easy to work with and their how-to videos are great!
I have ordered from etrailer before and have been very happy with the service and products. The customer service staff stayed in contact with me when I had questions and when my order arrived, The Kuat NV 2.02 was a great price when compared to all other on-line stores. We are very happy with the high quality and function of the Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack. Thank you!
Thanks for checking back. I had two issues. First the power coating is very poor. A small amount of paint had chip off when it first arrive. I patched it but a lot more has fallen off since then. I have powder parts in my car restorations work and your trailer hitch was poorly power coated. I expect it to be nothing but rusted metal in couple of years.
Second item is the fit wasn’t that great. I had to cut the exhaust heat in two different locations. Now that I finally have the hitch installed the exhaust system bangs against the hitch every time I drive over a bump or ruff road. This is the third e trailer hitch I have installed and by far the worst. I wish I had bought the car manufacturers hitch.
Sorry for the poor review but I am just disappointed. In the past I have always had good experience with your company and have recommend you to friends and family but this last purchase was a just plain bad.
good price, excellent service, fast del ivery
Awesome products. Ridiculously easy to install. Crazy quick shipping!
I give etraler.com 5 out of 5 star for their customer service support. However, the product itself is not what I expected. The hitch did not fit my car perfectly. I had to trim off the bumper to make it flush. Also, the design did not account for the bolts interfering from placing back the original plastic undercover. I had to trim the plastic cover to make room for the bolts in order to place them back. In addition, round tube was in direct contact with the muffler shield. I had to bend and modify the shield so that the bar would not touch the muffler heat shield. Overall, there were some design flaws that did not account for several areas and required some modification on my end. I just expected something more "fitted" with this hitch design.

Thank you for your review. All of this sounds pretty normal. It sounds like your hitch was a bit flexed. I will attach a help article explaining flex. Also, the hanger bracket sometimes becomes loose and all it needs is to be bent holding the muffler tighter. Trimming is also sometimes needed. This sounds like normal tweaking for your hitch install.

The service and delivery time are consistently outstanding!
This was not difficult to install at all. While I was waiting for the hitch to arrive, I watched Youtube videos on the instillation. When the box arrived I already knew what I needed and got after it. Very nicely designed so that the only piece that is visible from the bottom is the square tube connector for the hitch.

Well it’s been a year and we could not be happier! This hitch has more than served its purpose. We use it quite regularly. When we travel we want our dogs to have all the space inside our vehicle Hyundai Palisade. For that reason we mount a luggage rack to the hitch and we’re able secure everything. From time to time we also pull our trailer and it performs flawlessly! The vibration pin is a nice touch. I don’t have that on my pick up truck and I can tell the difference between the two
It was backorder for a while, but they kept me informed when it would ship and when it would arrive. I did not install it myself, but it looks great and fit perfectly!
I rec'd the hitch less than 48 hours after I ordered it...sent from MO to PA...amazing. Great online installation video. I was able to easily install it the same day I received it. I couldn't be more pleased with the delivery, installation, and the product!

A year later my feelings about the hitch are still the same...great product!! No complaints whatsoever!
Purchased a Draw tite hitch & wiring from etrailer for my sons Palisade. We watched the ‘how to’ video before starting the install. Great info gots us going in right direction from the start. As described start to finish in less than 60 mins!
Both hitch & wiring fit perfectly. We did have an advantage using my 36 in hydraulic scissor lift. Per the video, spray rubber exhaust hangers with silicon spray & they pop off with little effort. We used a jack stand to prop up exhaust while installing the hitch. Only small glitch was reinstalling the drivers side underbody trim. The hitch bolt created a interference to lining up the 14 mm bolt. A small clip off of the plastic underbody trim gave clearance & we finished the job.
First time buying from etrailer but definitely not the last! Great people to do business with
Install took a little longer than what was shown in the video using basic hand tools. Website said no cutting of the rear facia but the instructions that came with it stated clearly that it would need to be cut to fit. I installed it without cutting the facia. Receiver makes contact with the facia where it drops down for the trailer hitch. It bent the plastic down a bit and was able to install it without cutting. Packaging was good when it was received but paint was chipped in a couple of places when I opened the box. Overall it was a good fit, very well made and welds were good quality. Quick shipping, it arrived when they said it would. Staff at etrailer processed order quickly. I have bought from them in the past and will do so again in the future.
Wonderful experience! I ordered this along with the etrailer 24x60 cargo carrier and received both within 2 days of ordering. Both have performed flawlessly! I couldn't recommend a company and their products more.
The instruction said 30 min install. Iam not an expert but I am an engineer and fairly handy with tools, but this install took me about 6 hrs. I will say it went with minor issues but doing one with out a lift and by yourself was a major job. Holding a 40lb. Hitch and juggling two wrenches was an experience I prefer not to have again.
Fit as expected and very happy I made the purchase from etrailer.com. Due to the time it took to install the wiring harness, which was five minutes, I didnt take any pictures and just too excited the tow hitch and wiring harness were both installed within 30-40 minutes. Thanks again for all you do!
It's very solid and heavy, really need 2 people to install it and it fits perfectly. Here are few suggestions: The bolt for the single long screw on the right side should be a different color than the 2 bolts on the left. 1 washer on the left side needs to grind down to fit for the 2023 model. Installation instructions to trim the fascia should be in BOLD to tell this is a must.
Great fit for a Kia Telluride 2020. Has worked well. I have not used it to pull anything strong, have just been using it as a bike rack but works like a charm.

With the powder coating of the hitch, I recommend touching it up with a can of Rustoleum if you have not already done so. It will help prevent rust in the future as long as you keep an eye on it. For the exhaust ratting against the hitch we do have an FAQ with possible solutions. Please see the FAQ below.
