Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Hidden Hitch makes the best and easiest to install hitches. Everything fit, and it took only 20 minutes to install.

Excellent hitches.

I bought the hidden hitch and wiring kit for my 2014 Kia Soul Base. I am very pleased. I was able to install the wiring kit and hitch within one hour. I was able to install the hitch without jacking up the car, nor did I have to remove the inner fenders. The wiring was a little more difficult, and required the removal of the top most body panel screws to slide the wiring through the provide space, but really wasn't too difficult even at that. My only complaint is that the hitch ball fits somewhat loosely in the actual hitch, and creates some noise with a light load. But a very minor thing at that. To reiterate, I would absolutely recommend this product. and etrailer as the retailer.

First I would to say thanks again too Carol C for reaching out concerning questions
I had about the hitch I ordered. < customer service is excellent >
I have a 2017 Kia Soul that I bought last month, the idea of reclining the back seats and removing my front wheel doesn’t work for me. I ride mountain bike here in Puerto Rico 4 to 5 times a week.
The etrailer hitch’s bolt up super easy, had one on my 07 Subaru STI and BMW X3.

I’m giving 5 stars because the installation instructions,
design and finish is top notch. I have a Thule T2 Classic bike rack - 1.25 for two bikes. There was some concern that the hitch end was not long enough, bike rack has a 1.5 inches of clearance between rear bumper and bike rack, no problems. I recommend etrailer for all your receiver hitch needs.

Great and was easy to install.

Hitch fits in place, but the hardware bolts supplied were too big and don’t fit my vehicle. So I was unable to affix, and ultimately use the hitch.

It could be just as simple as the bolt holes on your vehicle needing to be scrubbed out with a brush, like part # 814092 and some lubricant, WD-40 will work perfectly. I have a link below with more details on the process.

I have a small utility trailer that I use for many projects around the house and lost my pick up (with hitch) when my grandson turned 16 (birthday present). I have been looking for a new trailer hitch for my Kia Soul for several weeks. I could not find the correct hitch in stock any where in town. Finally I went to etrailer.com found the correct hitch. It was ordered and received really fast. I am sure impressed with the service of etrailer.com. I was thoroughly kept informed of the status of my order and even checked to make sure it was delivered when stated.
The instructions said it would take about 50 minutes for installation and it actually took about 30.
Thanks etrailer for your fast, friendly and helpful service.

Does this hitch fit close up to the underside? Im looking for something that will fit close to maximize ground clearance.

I ordered a hitch receiver for my 2016 Kia Soul. I wanted a carrier so I could take trash to the dump . I also ordered an adapter to go from one and a quarter inch to 2 inch for the receiver with a 5-inch rise . It was at my house much faster than I expected. Quality of the product was good and it was installed very quickly by my neighborhood mechanic because he has a lift .on in 15 minutes. I would not hesitate to use etrailer.com.

I just wanted to provide the heads-up that using an adapter such as the one shown in the provided photos will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by half. This would mean that the 200 lb tongue weight capacity of the hitch would be lowered to 100 lbs, which means that the weight of the carrier and the load placed upon it should exceed 100 lbs.

by:

Excellent customer service and a great product to match. The product shipped and arrived quickly. The hitch was easy to set-up and I did it by myself in less than a hour. I am very pleased with the purchase and overall etrailer experience.

Very sturdy, well made product that was fairly easy to install. I use it often pulling trailer loads of firewood behind my Kia Soul.

I CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW EASY THE INSTALL WAS! IT TOOK LONGER TO GET THE FEW TOOLS I NEEDED TOGETHER. THE VIDEO IS GREAT AND MADE ME MUCH MORE CONFIDENT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHAT WAS NEEDED TO DO. I AM GOING TO USE THIS TO PULL A SMALL TRAILER FOR FIREWOOD.

2014 KiaSoul

This was my first hitch install. I've put this off for 2 years and wish I had more confidence back then but a move and finances made me take the plunge to put this one myself. I consider myself handy & did it all by my wittle self, didn't have anything to raise the 2014 kia soul+ 2.0 liter, but from all the videos, forums and comments I read, it was fine to do flat on the ground.

One main note - I DID NOT have to remove all the screws by the tire panels. For one, I couldn't get the ratchet screwdriver I bought specific for this task to loosen the screws. I only took off the bottom screws on both sides, holding the panel in, then flipped the panels back to expose the 2 holes to screw in the hitch.

I was concerned the hitch would be too heavy for me to do alone, but when it arrived I knew I could do it myself and use a box or something to hold up one side of the hitch while screwing in the other side, if needed. I have issues with my wrists and joints so to say I could install this myself is a big deal for me.

The only tool I needed to buy was a torque wrench and got that for a great deal at a local hardware store for $20. I forgot to time myself, but it probably took me longer to try to figure out the dumb screws on the tire panel then the actual install - that probably took about a half hour. I'll be putting my bike rack on "empty" and drive around to see how that works - will install a gopro-like camera and have rear cam to see how the hitch behaves.

I put off getting the light kit, which according to the video instructions look easier for me to install than the hitch - love etrailer's instructional videos, which are specific to my year/model car, you guys rock! If I find that I will be pulling a small trailer, I'll come back and purchase the light kit that installs to the rear lights, not the battery as that looks easiests.

Great communications with etrailers and quick delivery. Thanks!

2019 KiaSoul

The installation was not difficult at all and the video instruction made it so easy to follow. I am not a mechanic but I am reasonably skilled at assembly. The holes lined up perfectly with the frame and it fits my 2019 Kia Soul very well.

I mainly intend to use this Trailer Hitch Receiver for a bike rack to carry my bike to the bike trail. I like the fact that the bike is away from the vehicle. I have scratched other cars using bike racks that attach to the trunk or back window.

I love how this Trailer Hitch Receiver tucks under the bumper and when not in use only a small portion shows. I will purchase a cover for the 1-1/4" opening to keep it clean when not in use.

2017 KiaSoul

Ordered this receiver hitch, paid for 2nd day shipping, and had it THE NEXT DAY! This Brilliant service from etrailer - excellent followup on shipping and feedback from George J, and the user reviews and commentary answered all of my questions in advance before I purchased. The installation videos were a big help as well. It was really nice to buy something online and feel confident your selections would actually fit the car you bought them fore. Bonus icing on the cake: It all really fit and works well!

All told it took me about 2 hours to get all of my tools together, watch the videos, take parts of the car apart and then complete the install and button everything back up. I installed this on a 2017 Kia Soul Plus with optional mudflaps (designer package). Basically needed to remove one additional fastener on each mudflap to get the fenderwells loosened. Also one minor thing the video didn't mention - and it may be the option package on my car, but there are 2 additional fasteners in each wheel well that need to be popped out to loosen the fenderwells.

An excellent purchase that was put to work hauling our bikes today. So far, all is good and I love it!

by:

The hitch was well built and held up very well. The installation was a little trickier, so I was very thankful for the installation video etrailer provided.
I traveled approximately 3000 miles last summer towing my homebuilt camper, and had zero problems.

I needed a hitch receiver for a 2016 kia soul i am using for the time being to pull a small trailer and for my bike rack. My 15 year old son helped me install it no problem and it works great. Saved me a bunch of money!

by:
2017 KiaSoul

Installed on a 2017 Kia Soul, purely to fit a bike rack. I'm a mechanic and had access to a hoist, which made things easier. The instructions indicated I would have to drop the muffler and remove the wheel well linings, but all I had to do was remove two pushpins under the rear bumper and fold the linings out of the way. Didn't touch the muffler
The hitch bolted right in and the car was back on the road in 20 minutes! Maybe other Souls are different from mine and the instructions would apply to them. But I'm not complaining.

by:

Easiest trailer hitch i have ever installed.. every thing lined up perfect. Bolt holes spot on. Hugged up tight underneath. Can hardly tell it is there..
We recently Aquired 2 jet skis and only have one tow vehicle. Now we will only have to make one trip to the lake.
Excellent value for the money

by:
2016 KiaSoul

I bought a hitch for my 2016 Kia Soul from eTrailer. It took approximately 45 minutes to install it. The time including getting all my tools out and putting all my tools back up. It would not have taken as long if I had had the opportunity to put car up on Jacks but I did it flat on the floor.
I thought I did extremely well. Considering I had a knee replacement a year-and-a-half ago and I'm recovering from a severe heart attack 2 weeks ago and I'm 71 years old.

by:
2015KiaSoul

Great product. Well known name, price was less than anywhere else I looked, shipping was awesome. Took 20 minutes to install. On the Soul if you choose not to remove the emissions box on the drivers side, you just hook that side up first and then its easy. The instructional video provided by ETrailer was amazing. Helped me understand what I was getting into. No drilling, all hardware was included, its a perfect addition to the Soul.

by:
2015KiaSoul

Just installed this morning, out in the parking lot. No special tools needed. I found it was probably easier to do this alone if the vehicle stays on the ground. I could use my leg to prop up one side while putting the first bolt in.
Originally tried to install it without taking the trim out of the way, but there just isn't enough space. You won't save any time by being lazy.
Quality of the welding was good enough, and everything was true.
Mounted the Kuat Transfer rack in it and I'm ready to roll

Bought this and a Swagman bike rack for my 2016 Kia Soul and both work great! Install was super easy, as another reviewer said the removal of the black box on the driver side was not necessary in my install. Took me and a friend about 30 minutes to install.

  • Best Way to Transport Heavy SUP & Kayaks on 2014 Kia Soul That has Factory Roof Rack
So there is a way that is going to allow you to transport your kayaks and SUP with your 2014 Kia Soul, but the issue is the factory roof rack, so the only option is going to be a kayak trailer. There simply isn't any type of load assist that is going to work with your factory rack, and there's no way to carry 98 lbs of SUP/Kayak on a rack that has a 100 lb capacity - any carrier is going to overextend the rack. So your only option truly is a trailer, and here are the parts you'll need: -...
