Fully welded Jeep Renegade trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Near 20 years ago I tried a cheap hitch and do it yourself install. I didn't fare that well. Needing to be able to haul more material than my Renegade had room for I decided to try putting a hitch on it. There was that bad taste in my mouth from years ago. So, I decided it would not be a fly by night hitch company this time around. After running to the hardware store for a Bosch thin metal 1" hole saw for my drill. It was on like Donkey Kong. I just did each instruction one after another. Then I got to the place where a helping hand would be nice. WOULD BE NICE! Wife was busy. Neighbor disappeared. So, steady working at it. I lifted the hitch from one side to the other one board at a time till it was lined up. Jiggled the bolts with the wires attatched into place and swapped the wires for washers and nuts. As I am toqueing the bolts to spec. my wife asks if she can do anything. Then my neighbor shows up and says he got there at the right time. Slow and easy won the race. I took longer than 40 minutes, but got great results. Now to fix my trailer. LOL
Solid product for the price. Installed the hitch myself with the help of 2 friends on my 2016 trailhawk. So no drilling required or the use of the hardware pack that came in the box. We used ramps to make the installation easier. Using it for a bike rack, which, depending on how you position your bike it may hang a little low. But that is an easy fix.

Thank you for your review. It is recommended per the manufacturer to use the hardware that comes with the hitch receiver.
easy to install and works well with my 7' trailer. It is one of the best hitch receivers at the price point.
Perfect fit. I did it on the ground with a bottle jack and 4 short 4x4 blocks to hold it in place. Tried to do it without removing the wheel well liners but in the end, I had to. I have to say that was the biggest pain of everything. Make sure you get yourself a good holesaw and cut the hole close to the bolt hole for the muffler (bend heatshield down and out of the way) so that the heat shield will cover it when you are done. I also used my needle nose plyers as an alignment punch to get the top holes to align. It hangs very low but I think its the best you'll get for a renegade. Had it done and cleaned up in about 1.5 hours. Would have cut a half hour off had I removed the wheel well liners earlier instead of fight it.

All is still good a year later. Minimal rust north east USA. A good buy.
The trailer hitch runs on the exhaust and the muffler shroud. I’ve tried adjusting multiple times but it still rubs. I should have spent the extra money and order a hitch that mounts above the exhaust system and exits in the bumper valence.
1" hole saw was not quite big enough for the bar to fit. Dropping the exhaust hanger just made the muffler rest on the hitch. It went well until it started pouring rain on me, but that's not the product's fault!
Excellent, fast shipping (two days!); instructional videos were somewhat helpful (wish they had emphasized in the video for the Renegade Trailhawk that you have to remove all of the hard putty (a Dremel is what we used) in order for the hitch receiver to fit; otherwise it won't. The video instructs you to remove some putty, but not all. The reason why it's such a big deal is that when my friend and I were installing it, we only removed enough... based on the video recommendation. And it wasn't enough; we had to remove all of it. But the video (imo) doesn't warn at all that if the receiver doesn't line up with the holes, keep removing putty. We were just assuming that it was a bad fit or defective. It wasn't until we kept removing ALL of it to bare metal... and pushing up to get the hitch receiver to line up with the holes (after removing the bolts), is when we were able to fit the bolts back into the holes and tighten the hitch receiver. Whew! Other than that, we felt it was a fairly easy install (about an hour). Very well built receiver, looks very discrete; and way cheaper than the factory install! Thanks etrailer!
Fantastic trailer hitch. Fit is perfect. I would note two things - first, if you can get access to a lift, do it. If you need to drill, this will be a tremendous help. Second, get help installing this. This would've been a massive PITA had there not been multiple hands working on this. 40 minutes if you've installed this before maybe, took us at a shop about 1 1/2 hours when all was said and done. But once installed, looks great and works perfect.
The hitch itself is well made and fit like a glove, I installed it by myself in the driveway and it was a bit difficult raising into position. I have a new model 2015 vehicle and was surprised a hitch was made for it already. The wiring harness is a different story, not sure why a 12 ga. ground wire is required to be run all the way from the battery to the rear of the vehicle, I was disappointed in the wiring harness difficulty & instructions. I threw the harness in the trash and have the dealership install one for me.
Got mine professionally installed at trailer rental place. It does give up a little ground clearance, but it does the job and does it really well. Was a great price compared to other places I looked. If your car has bolts already in the frame (unlike mine) it should be a really easy install, otherwise you have to drill a hole in your frame to pass through hardware, which should only be done by a professional, unless you're comfortable with that.
Perfect fit. I was able to install it myself but do have a lift which helped. I also installed their T connector wiring harness. Instead of running a wire to the battery, I used a fused cigarette lighter plug. I just plug it into the 12 volt accessory access located in the back of the vehicle. I’ve done this before with a previous installation and it works great with no issues.
This is my second hitch from etrailer. Awesome customer service both times. Within hours I had an email saying my hitch was on the way just like the last order. I didn't pay attention when I order that drilling WAS required. I couldn't bring myself to cut holes in the frame of my brand new vehicle so I figured out that if I removed some of the internal bumper nuts (3 on left and 3 right) you can just barely get the hardware inside the frame. No cutting necessary but it did take more time. Total install time was about 4 hours for me.
Pros
Well built, came with everything, fit right, looks great.
Cons
They said custom fit, bolts and hardware did not fit, in the directions it says to cut bracket that holds muffler half up in half, didnt have too, (not really a con but a comment)
I bought the j pin and ball hitch kit too highly recommend j pin.
Great quality, was not difficult to install. My jeep renegade has a 1.5" lift and it still fits just fine, very close but still works, the exhaust is about 1/2" away from hitting the hitch due to the spacers needed for the lift. So far no noises from contact or anything.
Installation was simple and easy to follow from both manual and etrailer website.
Excellent product and service! Hitch fit perfectly on my Renegade Latitude - four bolts and on! Did not have to make any modifications - just followed instructions. Plenty of road clearance. Installed myself and took about 45 minutes. I would highly recommend this product!!!
hitch and bike rack arrived quickly and fit my Jeep perfectly.
Perfect fit on my new jeep Renegade
I added a 6-1/4 high adjustable ball receiver to level my little boat and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
A little harder to do on your own. Install was about 4 hours. I did have to bend the exhaust heat shield to clear the passenger bottom bracket. I was able to get it back in place afterwards though.
A great product. The holes that bolt to the frame of my jeep renegade were aligned perfectly. I would definitely recommend this product to others. The installation was fairly easy. Thanks for a great product at a reasonable price!!
Love the product. It's made of heavy duty steel. Definitely took longer than the 40 minutes that they say it would. Also for future customers. My jeep is the trail hawk edition of the 2015 renegade it has its own bolts built into the frame and you don't need to drill the frame or use the ones provided for installation. Overall I'd recommend this to anyone the price was very reasonable. I bought a small boat and can't wait to tow it around.
Pretty easy install. Doesn’t change the clearance of my Renegade trailhawk by much.
Solid product! This hitch is a tank. Went on with no problems or modifications needed.
The Hitch looks excellent underneath the car and is very secure.

This hitch is awesome I use it frequently and I never had any problems with it. I use it to attach a trailer U-Haul trailer when moving stuff.
etrailer.com is my "go to" source whenever I need towing or hitch equipment. I bought a new 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk and needed a Class III hitch and wiring. Even though the original hitch I ordered was unavailable, etrailer substituted a better hitch and got it to me pronto. It was a perfect fit and easy to install. I am very grateful.

Does it look like the factory install, or sit below bumper? Can you send me a picture? Thanks, Chad
