the bolts with mine were to big too. what size bolts did you need to by for it to fit? thanks.

Chances are the bolts are not the incorrect size. The weldnuts are very prone to corrosion. Be sure to clean the weldnuts first with a penetrating oil and a wire brush, in some cases a tap may be needed to clean the threads.

Got what I ordered snd transactions went smooth

by:

It fit, no problem! Had it on about an hour after drop off.

2nd order from Etrailer. Excellent experience.

by:
2004 JeepLiberty

The bolts that came with the hitch were to big for the holes but other than that it was easy to install.

by:

Hitch is nice, but video was a little misleading as to time. I had to chase my threads with a tap and oil.

by:
2004 JeepLiberty

Great quality and good fit with the mounting holes provided on the vehicle.

by:

Good product, excellent directions. poor packing, hitch almost fell out of the box because there was no padding.

by:

Bolted right up, but had to remove right rear tire to tighten up middle bolt with 19mm boxed end wrench, exhaust was in the way so I couldn't use my impact. Very fast shipping, customer service was great.

1st Time Buyer through etrailer.comI am extremely happy with my first experience with etrailer.com. The whole process was simple and easy from the internet search to the ordering to the delivery of my products. I just, today, received my Trailer Hitch Receiver and accessories. I am sure that installing my said products will be just as easy.

I was especially impressed with etrailer's team that kept me up-to-date on the confirmation of my order to the date they shipped my products. The whole process took less than 5 days. I will in the future look to etrailer.com for any additional products I might need.

Thank you etrailer.com.

excellent trailer hitch, went on jeep liberty very easy no problems at all would recommend it to a friend. shipping was really fast. thank you for a great product.

by:
2006 JeepLiberty

The product came well packaged and just as expected. The installation was for a Jeep '06 Liberty and the fit was perfect. It looks great; only the receiver itself is visible. The only real delay was due to the holes in the frame being VERY dirty and that's not etrailer's fault :) I thought the bolts were too big at first but they were correct; there was just that much crud in the holes. The install would have been as estimated but the cleaning took me a couple of hours because of my limited tools. This wasn't the case on my other vehicle's install (only 30 minutes) but plan for it just in case.

Customer service is outstanding. This was my second receiver purchased at etrailer and I will be back...great shopping experience.

by:
2002 JeepLiberty

Well put together, the etrailer.com customer service is great. The best prices I found anywhere too. I look forward to towing something.

2003 JeepLiberty

This product is great and I can't wait to put it on. It was a very good price and I got free shipping. I ordered it Monday night and it came on Thursday. I was very surprised and very happy! I will check etrailer before any other site thank you!

2018 JeepLiberty

I just received the hitch for a 2006 Jeep liberty. It came undamaged with bolts and washers well packaged. You tube video was very informative. All bolt holes lined up & screwed in perfectly and the product is very well built with good welds and good powder coated finish. The shipping was quick and communication immediate.

Watch out for the existing 18 mm bolts on frame; weird size !

by:
Jeep

This was EASY !!! It fit perfectly and bolted right up. I spent more time washing under the Jeep than I did installing the hitch.

by:

I followed the instruction video by prepping the bolt holes the day before. The hitched showed up this morning and I was towing my trailer 40 minutes later. GREAT service and easy insulation!

by:
2005JeepLiberty

Bolt holes line up well. I had a heckuva time getting the bolts in. It's hard to know if that is because the welded in nuts have just "swollen" from corrosion and this was the difficultly or if the included bolts in the kit are ever so slightly oversized or something.

by:

Arrived right on time, with all the items together. Videos on the site made it a snap to install. Had the hitch done in 45 minutes and the wiring in another 30. Thank you!!

I got a trailer hitch and wiring harness for a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The products were shipped quickly and customer service was great. Instructions were included that made the install go very smoothly (in addition to videos on youtube). I would not hesitate to purchase from etrailer again.

Hitch was just as described, it lined up perfectly. Super fast shipping. One problem - enclosed bolts were too large. I needed the hitch on to be able to pick up our new camper, couldn't what to have replacements sent, so I just went to Lowe's to buy the correct bolts. otherwise a great transaction

  • Recommended 7-Way Wiring for 2005 Jeep Liberty without Tow Package
We do have what you need to install a fully-functional 7-Way on your Jeep Liberty, however there is not a direct plug-and-play option like what you are looking for that would allow you to plug your existing 7-Way to a factory port on your vehicle. In order to install a 7-Way, you will want to start by adding a 4-Way connector. I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118524. This custom harness will install by plugging into factory ports behind the driver and passenger...

We have a great bike rack solution for you to get the secure fit you need. However, your hunch is correct about using a bike frame adapter bar with the SportRack Pathway Deluxe 3 # SR2703. The bikes can sway on the rack when using the adapter bar. However, your bikes will be safe if you use a padded adapter bar like the # 64005. This is because the hook that attaches to the bike has vinyl coating to prevent scratches. To eliminate the worry about bike sway on the rack, the best route...
