Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I am very pleased with the hidden hitch.was delivered on time and was made perfectly for my kia sorento installation took 20 minutes very pleased with this product.

by:

My hitch came on time and your web site was good. I had the hitch on in less than 30 min. My problem came when I tried to put the wiring in. The instructions had me taking the car apart and were not very clear. I called and had forgotten about your video. After watching your video the wiring was in in 10 min. This is my second time with hidden hitch and I find then a great product. Bob

I purchase a Thule bike rack and a 2inch Hidden Hitch. Both arrived before I expected them and in good condition. I installed the hitch with a friend in less that 20minutes. No issues, as yet I have not unpacked my bike rack. Will do so after my company leaves. I certainly would do business with E trailer in the future, I have already given the link to a friend.

Ordered the hidden hitch for my 2013 Kia Sorento EX. Arrived as planned in perfect condition. Used my motorcycle jack to raise the hitch in place. Was able to secure the hitch with one right side and left side bolt. Pulled muffler to the left with one hand while accessing the other bolt hole. Mounted all four bolts, torqued to specs, finished in 20 minutes. Youtube videos are priceless. Just order the wiring kit for the trailer. Thanks etrailer.

Received Hidden Hitch Product 87574 for my 2012 Kia Sorrento in a timely manner. I watched the video online on the installation process prior to attempting the installation along. As a novice in dealing with anything mechanical, I purchased all required material to accomplish this DIY project. I purchased the 1/2 thread cleaning brush and all other parts were included with the hitch. After having all parts in place to perform the task from start to finish, it took about 40 minutes which included torquing the 4 bots to 60 PSI. Hitch installed perfectly as advertise and could not be more pleased with the product. I also ordered one of the 2 inch baskets on their website for transportation items under 500 lbs. I will surely save this website and without a doubt be the place I look first for any hitch or transport items.

  • Recommended Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch for a 2010 Ford F-150 With a Factory Hitch
With there already being a factory hitch installed on your 2010 Ford F-150, we do have an option to up the tongue weight capacity. That being said, there are no Class V hitches that we have available for your vehicle, so this will be a Class IV hitch as well. The TorkLift SuperHitch # TLF1005H is rated up to 1,500 pounds when used with a weight distribution system. The only problem with this hitch is that it sits under the factory hitch, which will affect how the weight distribution hitch...

  • Troubleshooting Hard to Thread Install Bolts for a Hitch on a 2012 Kia Sorento
Before we determine that you have the wrong size install bolts you need to make sure that the bolts not fitting isn't due to the weld nuts of your vehicle being dirty/corroded and that is why they won't fit. Typically on vehicles that have seen a few winters the weldnuts can be a bit dirty/corroded so bolts will not just thread right into them. Check out the links I attached that detail how to clean the weld nuts. The 10.9 on the bolt head is not the size of it.

  • What Trailer Hitches Will Fit a 2011 Kia Sorento SX
I have recently spoken to my contact at Draw-Tite regarding Trailer Hitch # 75684. He stated that there are no exclusions for the trailer hitches, except if the vehicle has dual exhaust, which means they should fit all models, including your 2011 Kia Sorento SX unless it has dual exhaust. I have included links to the installation instructions and video. If you plan on doing some towing, the recommended ball mount is # C45010 and you can use ball # 19260 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19247...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe with Spare Tire Under Vehicle
Both the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch # C13073 and Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75684 are confirmed to fit your 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe as long as it does not have the dual exhaust. Because of its cross tube design, the Curt Class III # C13073 is going to allow for easier access to the spare tire mounted under the vehicle. I have attached a couple of images so you can better see the comparison between the two hitches. The Curt Hitch is a great option for your...

  • Bike Rack Solution for 2013 Kia Sorento to Allow Access to Rear Hatch Area
We can't recommend opening the hatch or trunk of any vehicle with a trunk mounted bike rack installed including the Thule Passage part # TH910XT that you mentioned. The weight of the rack would prevent the struts from holding the hatch open which would cause it to slam down hard which would potentially cause an injury. To have complete rear cargo area access with a bike rack (and even bikes) loaded what you'd need is a swinging bike rack like the Thule Apex Swing part # TH9027XT which...

  • Can Trailer Tongue Weight be Changed Just by Moving Weight Around in the Trailer
The trailer tongue weight or hitch weight is dynamic meaning that it will change as weight is added or removed from the trailer or if the weight in the trailer is moved around (front to back). You can manipulate the tongue weight by moving weight more to the back of the trailer for less tongue weight or more towards the front for more tongue weight. However, the tongue weight should be 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. And when using weight distribution there are different...

There is also another bolt, washer, and nut on each side required for the installation of the Curt # C13073. • Trailer Hitch and Weight Distribution System Recommendation for a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
If you can make sure the 2009 Jay Feather Sport 165 Travel Trailer that you are interested in will stay below the tongue weight of your hitch with a WD system then the hitch would be fine to tow the trailer. You would then also need to check the owners manual of your vehicle to determine it's towing capacity and be sure to go by the lower figure as the overall capacity. • How to Determine if 2012 Kia Sorento Has Factory Tow Package
For a hitch, I'd recommend going with the Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # 75684 instead of the Curt hitch you mentioned. The Curt hitch warranty requirements state that a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 must be used for non trailer loads like bike racks or cargo carriers. Unfortunately, the small spoiler atop the rear hatch of your Sorento can be damaged by the strap which is why I recommend a different hitch. The Draw-Tite model will fit all models of the 2012 Sorento, regardless...

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Control for a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and 1,890 Pound Trailer
The first thing to check is if the hitch and vehicle are rated for use with weight distribution. For the trailer hitch there should be a sticker on it. If rated for weight distribution it will have 2 sets of capacities; one set for weight carrying (not using weight distribution) and another for weight distributing. If the hitch does not have a separate capacity for weight distributing then you would need a hitch that does such as # 75684. For the vehicle just check the towing section in...

For the 3.5L 6 cylinder model, the maximum towing capacity is 3500 lbs if the trailer has brakes and the vehicle has a brake controller installed to operate them. You will not need to drill any holes in the trailer hitch for installation, the bolt holes are already drilled in the trailer hitch.
