Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

by:

Product was exactly as advertised - sturdy and excellent fit to the vehicle. More importantly, the on-line video significantly reduced the emotional stress and expense of trying to install in myself. As a novice it took me less than an hour to install.

by:

very fast shipping, very good hitch !!!thank you!!

great hitch for the 2012 Honda cr-vmodulite was not easy, but it went slow but sure

by:

Fast shipping. Best deal on the internet. Instruction sheet incorrect illustration but video on line very helpful. Great company to deal with.

Honda

It fit perfectly on my 2112 honda CRV. The hole you have to cut in the rear valance does not have to be as large as described in directions.Great price. Great product.

by:

My new hitch installed easily and we are very happy with it.Quick shipping.

by:

Went on very easily just like you all said it would!! This is our second hitch from you due to trading cars.

by:

I was very impressed with your speedy service. I ordered the hitch on Monday Evening. It shipped on Tuesday. I got it on Thursday.I installed it on Friday. It looks very good on the vehicle.

Honda

Installed on my 2012 Honda CR-V in less than an hour. Looks great. etrailer is a first class operation and their customer service is excellent.

by:

Just like always the hitch for my 2012 CR-V arrived in a timely manner and installed just like the video indicated. Quality product, great service, fair pricing....I'll be back!!

by:

Received the order super fast and in perfect condition! The install took quite a bit longer than the 30 minutes stated but was still pretty straight- forward and not too difficult. The printed instructions do not go into great detail, especially as to measuring where to trim the appearence panel, but still, all was manageable. Looks like a well made product and so much cheaper than buyint from the dealer!!

by:

Excellent hitch. Not too bad to install. Dealing with the trim panel under the car was the hardest part. Instructions tell you to remove the panel to cut it. It would have been easeir to leave it attached to the car and make the cut. If not for that panel, it would be a ten-minute job.

by:

I kind just shook my head when I looked at the instructions for installation, I thought what have I gotten myself into. It took me a little bit to get going but once I got started it was a snap to install and looks good on the CRV. Great product.

by:

Hitch arrived on time in great condition, installed by myself in about 2 hours, the instructions covered everything needed and the videos were helpful in preparation for the install. Thanks,Dave

by:

I am very satisfied with the product but I followed the installation instructions very carefully and the measurements for cutting the under belly was way off. there is no way of getting an accurate measurement by yourself.

  • Can Rear Hatch on 2014 Honda CR-V Be Opened with Saris Bones Bike Rack Attached
The Saris Bones 2 Bike Carrier # SA805BL that you referenced is a really nice carrier that's confirmed to fit your 2014 Honda CR-V, however even with the bikes unloaded you won't be able to open the rear hatch without completely removing the rack. This is because the upper straps are going to clip around the top seam where the roof meets the hatch, and opening the rear will cause this connection to loosen up and reduce the tension on the carrier, likely causing it to move around and possibly...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2016 Honda CR-V
The Hollywood Racks Over the Top bike rack part # HRF2-3 that you referenced comes with hatch anchors which you could use instead of lower hooks since your 2016 Honda CR-V does not have a lower lip to attach to. These are foam anchors that get closed in the hatch to hold the rack instead of hooks. Since hitch mounted options are basically superior in every way that would be what I recommend as your best choice. You get better stability, an easier install, and the rack won't contact the...

  • Best Value Bike Rack That Allows For Rear Cargo Access In 2015 Honda CR-V
The Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style part # S64650 will fit the 2015 Honda CR-V as long as you have a hitch on your vehicle. However, the Swagman XC 2-Bike rack is not a tilt-away rack so you need to remove the bikes from the rack to get into the rear cargo aera of the CR-V. Instead, I recommend Swagman XTC-2 TILT 2-Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches part # S64671 for the 2015 Honda CR-V because it tilts away with or without the bikes loaded for rear cargo access in the Honda....

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2014 Honda CR-V
Hey Walter! We don't have any through the bumper hitch options for the 2014 Honda CR-V. You will have plenty of height clearance with the etrailer Hitch item # e98868 you were looking at though. The lowest part of the receiver sits 11-1/4" above the ground so it's high enough to not have to worry about scraping but not to high to worry about loading your e-bikes. We do have installers in your area though. What you'll want to do is scroll down past the pictures and videos on the item #...

I would be happy to recommend a hitch for your 2013 Honda CR-V. I saw you were looking at the etrailer item # e98868 and the EcoHitch item # 306-X7297. Both of these hitches are confirmed to fit your 2013 CR-V. They are custom fit and bolt to your Honda with included hardware. Both the etrailer and the EcoHitch are class III hitches with 2" receivers. They each have identical towing capacities at 3,500 lbs and both are made in America. The main difference in capacity is the EcoHitch has...

Yes, you definitely can! To install a class III hitch on a 2013 Honda CR-V, I recommend the etrailer item # e98868. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Honda with included hardware. It has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight. I have attached a couple of pictures and linked an installation video below so you can see what this hitch looks like once installed. If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56158 and a ball mount...

Wider options for accessories and higher capacity on bike racks. The highest capacity class I and II bike carriers top out at 65 lbs. A class III bike rack can go over 80 lbs per bike and still stay under your CR-V's tongue weight. Often times, including this one, the class III hitches are less expensive. For your 2014 Honda CR-V, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch item # e98868 you were looking at. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It is custom fit and bolts to your Honda...

  • How to Carry Two E-Bikes at Rear of 2014 Honda CR-V That is Getting Flat Towed
The best solution we have would be to install an e-bike rack like the Hollywood Racks RV Rider part # HLY64FR in a 2 inch hitch installed on the 2014 Honda CR-V like the # e98868. It would be really difficult to come up with a hitch extender solution and bike rack with enough capacity that would also not have clearance issues.

Yes, it will. The etrailer Trailer Hitch item # e98868 is custom fit and designed specifically for the 2015 Honda CR-V. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight. So this hitch will work with most hitch mounted accessories and has the ability to pull a trailer. • What Rack do You Recommend for Transporting 3 Bikes on a 2013 Honda CR-V?
I have a great solution for you. Since the tongue capacity of your 2013 Honda CR-V is 150 pounds, the only way for the Kuat Transfer 2 # KU24FR is if your friends' bikes weigh no more than 30 pounds for one and 29 pounds for the other (which is extremely light for adult bikes). Also, the Thule Helium Pro 3 # TH9043PRO and the Camber 4 # TH9056 will not work because those racks only have a maximum per-bike weight capacity of 37.5 pounds. We'll start with hitches and then move our way over to the bike rack: For your 2006 Toyota Corolla you are correct about the 1-1/4" hitch options and for that I recommend the Curt # C11265 which is a Class I hitch. For your 2015 Honda CR-V that is carrying 2-bikes and a bike rack with a combined weight of 172 lbs., I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98868. The 172 lbs. of your bikes and rack are going to factor in your tongue weight, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98868 has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. so it will be able to handle your bikes and rack.
