Thank you for following up with me. I would first like to say your customer service is first rate. The hitch and wiring harness are great too. Install was fairly easy and instructions good. The only minor problem I have is that the trailer ball I purchased and used on the trailer began to rust last fall. Probably my own fault for going through the car wash too many times with the hitch in. Anyway, thanks again for the follow up.

Item was just as described. It took me a little longer to install as I didn't have a jack or lift to raise my vehicle for easy access.

Great product and value. As stated by other reviews, the installation was only hampered by the access hole in the frame of the car being too small. A little modification and it was easy to install. Took less than an hour. Thanks.
great trailer hitch and receiver, decent install, wish harness was plug and play like the installation states, but it is not.
HItch was well made and fit precisely as it was supposed to. The instructionds were good. the only comment and it would make the installation really easy if you would finish off the backup shims so they would fit without modifications. I just rounded the corners of the shims and they fit fine.
Hitch installed as advertised. Instructions were great. I recommend using self locking nuts or double nutting. I also used a hole saw to cut the heat shield were the bolts poked through. etrailers are great to work with and will recommend them to my friends.
Great product with fast delivery to Canada! Ins have a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe. The factory access holes used to bolt the hitch to the frame are just a little bit too small to fit the bolt plates. They must be filed/drilled out prior to installation.
I am extremely pleased with my experience with etrailer and highly recommend them. Shipping was very fast. I had no trouble with installation onto my '09 Accord.
It worked for me. My only problem was enlarging the feedthrough holes enough for the carriage bolt plates to fit through. I did the "pry with wrench" method rather than fileing. It took me several tries on each side to get the holes wide enough for the plates to slide in and turn the corner. Very good instructions and the installation looks good. I'm too lazy to take a picture but I'll tell anyone I'd recommend this kit.
Purchased for 2009 Honda Accord, aslo works for 2008-2010 accords and acuras i believe. One word, awesome! Was able to install in about 1 hour. Very easy, delivery was fast, great site to buy hitch and wiring from. Highly recommend.
Hitch installed on 2010 Acura TL2010 acura TL hitch
I received my order in just a few days and just finished installing it. It took me about an hour and a half but I was installing it alone. I am sure a helper would have sped the process along. I found it was easier to file down the side of the spacer just a hair rather than making the hole bigger.
I am very happy with this purchase and will probably be ordering another one soon for my wife's Lexus. The dealer wanted $900 fir a hitch when we bought the car last year.
I ordered the hitch for my 2011 Honda Accord Coupe and it was shipped the same day. It arrived a few days later and it was exactly as ordered. I installed the hitch today and it took about 1.5 hours. The instructions were easy to understand. It takes a bit to fish the bolts through the frame and bend the muffler heat shield so that it fits and does not rub but overall the installation went very well. This is my 2nd purchase from etrailer and both experiences were great. I would buy again from them.
2010 acura TL..non-awdI have installed a few of these on different cars and the 45min estimeated install time is way off..NO.. more like 2-3 hrs install time.
I have a new TL and you must remove both side of the exhaust completely and to enlarge the hole to insert the crossbar for the bolt into the frame a file will not do it. It is strengthened steel part of the car and i had to use a power drill with a large metal bit to shave a small bit away to hammer the bar inside but once inside it did work fishing it and the bolt threw with the wire supplied. I was skeptical but it worked great. The hitch is hidden very well.
You also must remove a plastic under tray panel and it will not go back on with the hitch in place. The trimming of the exhaust heat shields was easy though.
I have an acura tsx that has duel exhausts so the work to modify things was greater. The biggest issue was opening up the holes in the frame to allow the spacer to fit thru. Drop the width of the spacer by 1/32 and I would have saved at least an hour on the install. I also had an area of the hitch by the tongue that did not have a good powder coat It will probably rust earlier there. the fit was precise to the design of my car. Do a better job painting and narrow the width of the spacer and you would get a 5+ rating. 2.5 hours to install.
Nice product, arrived promptly.......I decided to have a mechanic put it on and it cost about $90 (11/2 hours labor for hitch and electrical connection) and I am happy with the job. I wasn't sure how to handle the plastic shield under the rear end of my Honda Accord. The mechanic just cut it away. Not sure if this is the only way to deal with it, but everything seems fine. I thought it was a good purchase and I liked the website.......
Bought this for my 2009 Acura TL SHO-AWD strictly to mount a bike rack. Works great for that. Installation was more like 3 hr plus rather than 1 hr. Went fairly well until trying to get the 'spacer' and bolt through the access hole and down ten inches or so to the mounting hole. Ended up being easier to grid that spacer down enough to get through the hole rather than filing the hole larger. The picture on the install sheet doesn't show very clearly how the spacer an bolt are intended to get down over the mounting hole. They would have never fit into the access hole if the bolt was in the spacer so had to put them in separately and put them together over the mount hole.
Once that was done though it mounted up tight and is very sturdy. Very 'low profile' when viewed from the back. Only picture I have is with the bike rack and with that you can't even see it.
Not a difficult installationIf you are careful, you can install this in an hour, if not, it could take you two to three hours. A few tips:
Use a Dremel to create the opening for the spacer and make it bigger than it needs to be so the spacer doesn't bind when you try to pull it through.
Tie a piece of string through the hole in the spacer and test fit the spacer through the hole in the frame before you attempt to feed the wire through the frame. Once the spacer gets inside the frame rail, it is tough to get it back over the opening and even tougher to get the wire through the hole. If you have to force the spacer, you haven't enlarged the opening enough.
The helicoil on the end of the wire is great but don't pull on it too hard or you will unravel the coil. Thank goodness they give you two.
Leave the wire attached to the bolt until you have the hitch positioned snugly against the frame rails. Attach the u-bolt and hand-tighten the bolts to hold it in place. A couple of jack stands come in handy to keep it snug and level while you're trying to manipulate the nuts onto the frame rail bolts. You'll have to hold the bolt with one hand while you remove the helicoil and thread the nuts on the bolts. Don't let go of the bolts!
Trimming the heat shield was easy but it took three tries to get it to clear the vertical plate on the passenger side of the hitch.
It looks great, doesn't stick out like other hitches I've seen. It really is a 'hidden hitch"!
Purchased for '09 accord. Worked out great. Took me an hour and 45 minutes to install. Grind down the sides of the spacers/washers don't file your car frame. Overall easy to install, just take your time. Oh, also use wd-40 on rubber hangers to slip down exhaust (a must makes very easy). I also did not have to cut my heat shield, just had to bend it a little. I have a lease on this vehicle, didn't want to return it with a cut shield. I highly recommend etrailer. Great service,prices and customer support. Rose is nice and polite to talk to over the phone cutomer service. I recommend this hitch because it hides out of the way and you can hardly see it. It looks very good. Get the recommended wiring harness. It works great and very easy to install. Take care, Ron.
