Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real-life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

It couldn't be any easier to install. Very stong and nice looking hitch. And the wiring pack just makes it so easy and when done ,looks and works perfect.

This is one of the best internet companies that I have dealt with. The shipping was free and not only on time, but early. The price was right, the instructions (video and written) were spot on and the unit fit perfect with no installlation problems. I had a tech question before I ordered and I received an answer from the manufacturer the next day. Great!

2009 Ford E-350

My hitch arrived on time and within 30 minites after the UPS truck left the driveway had it installed. It bolted up with no problems to my 2009 E-350 Ford van. Nothing to relocate and no drilling needed.

Hitch installed in minutes on my 2003 E-250. Hole lined up perfect.
Did not need to move exhaust pipe to install.
I used a floor jack and put in the bolts by myself.
I would recommend this product to anybody.
Shipping was free and it arrived ahead of schedule.

Great Product at a good price. Per instructions- I had to temporarily remove the gas vapor canister an then product was a bolt in operation. No drilling needed. Delivery was quick and on time. Received it today and mounted it today. Would definitely order again. Rick

2006 Mercedes E-350

The hitch fit perfectly on my 2006 E-350 XL. The only issue I had was the hardware to attach the hitch. The nuts and bolts required much force just to get to the point where they would draw the hitch to the frame. I backed two off to check for cross threading but the tolerances on the nut and bolt were just too off. I do like the quality of the hitch itself and the solid one piece design.

by:

Major chunk of steel that fit I have ordered so many things that I have been forced to return just because they did not fit, that I now expect to return anything I order online. Surprise!!! E-trailer and Drawtite did it right on the first time!

Time to remove and replace the OEM hitch was 30 minutes with NO problems - just like the video.

I really had no time to do the order over if it was screwed up - it wasn't and I ordered one and UPS dropped it off the next. SWEET!

2002 Ford E-350 Super Duty

This Drawtight class 5 seems very heavy duty and bolted right up to my 2002 E350 Super duty Ford van. I was not exactly impressed at the damaged box it came in also the big bag of bolts bouncing around in the box got a hole in it and a couple washers and nuts were missing. I also was not impressed w/ the paint job draw tight put on it. Over all though, this is a HD hitch that is a breeze to install.

by:

I'm very happy with the entire etrailer experience. From web site ordering, price, installation, everything went smoothly. No missing parts. Easy to follow instructions. Couldn't ask for more. The Ultra Frame Draw-Tite hitch is built like a rock too.

Well made hitch and simple to install.i installed it by myself a year ago. I put an aftermarket step into the reciever as both were cheaper than buying a step bumper. This route gave me the ability to pull a trailer should the need arise. Also no signs of rust yet.

20 minute install. Easy, perfect fit. No drilling, no modifications. 2011 Ford E-250.

by:

We installed this on our E150 campervan so we could haul extra cargo or a bike rack. It's definitely more hitch than we need since we're not towing anything (yet). We landed on this particular hitch because the price wasn't much different than the lower-class models, and - the big selling point - this one didn't require any frame drilling for installation.

Speaking of, installation was straightforward and easy to understand. I managed to install it by myself, though as with any hitch it would be easier with an extra set of hands. I used a jack stand to hold the other side of the hitch in place.

The hitch is ridiculously strong and I would have no reservations about hauling some serious weight if I had an accessory that fit snugly in the receiver.

The only complaint I have is that the receiver has too much play. It's listed as a 2" receiver, but both of the 2" accessories I use (and several others I tried at the store) have a lot of "slop" as the opening actually measures something like 2-3/16". (See photo) Adding the bolt to secure the hitch in the receiver steadies lightweight loads, but I would be concerned that the stress of a heavy load would be too much for that connection point.

Works well for our use - we are usually either hauling a cargo bin or a bike rack, so this hitch handles those items nicely.

This hitch is a beast. Highly recommend if looking for a heavy duty hitch.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2002 Ford E-150
I checked with Draw-Tite and I can confirm that their Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch item # 41945 does indeed fit your 2002 Ford E-150. It is definitely going to be overkill for a bike rack but the rest do involve drilling and the prices are all comparable. I have linked an installation video to help you get it set up. We do not have the 41906 hitch but it does involve drilling according to Draw-Tite's website. If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C55344...

  • Class V Hitch and Towing Parts Recommendations for a 2013 Ford E-350
The only Class V trailer hitch for your 2013 Ford E-350 is the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41945 which is a custom fit so it bolts right up to your van without any drilling. Then for wiring I recommend the T-One # 118551 for a 4-Way flat connection and then add the Universal Wiring Harness # ETBC7 and Extra Wiring # 10-2-1 for a fully-functional 7-Way if that's what the end-goal is. Finally, if you're looking for a ball mount kit to complete a towing system I recommend...

I reached out to my contact at Draw-Tite who was able to give me the dimensions for the Trailer Hitch # 41945. He said that the # 41946 is for GM frames so it won't fit your Ford E-450 Chassis. From the rearmost hole to the end of the receiver measures 8-5/8" and then from that same hole to the middle and forward-most holes measures 2-3/8" and 10-1/2" respectively. From side to side the back 2 holes measure 38-5/8" apart while the forward-most holes measure 38-7/16" apart.

The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Cast Center # 41945 is a confirmed fit for 2000 - 2003 Ford Van Full Size and may fit your chassis. I recommend checking the dimensions of the frame holes as this hitch's mounting holes are 38-1/2 inches on center. This hitch is rated for 1,500 lb tongue weight and 10,000 lbs towing. This hitch will be dependent on the chassis and will not work if it has been extended. Your alternative if you don't have these holes is the Multi-Fit...

  • Will the Curt 14055 or the Draw-Tite 41945 Extend Past the Bumper Further on an 06 E-350?
The Curt # 14055 will actually sit just about flush with the edge of the bumper once installed on your 2006 Ford E-350. Though this will meet the weight capacities you need, if you are looking for something to completely clear the bumper, it will fall a little short. No pun intended. On the other hand, once the Draw-Tite # 41945 is installed, the center of the hitch pin hole will extend out 1-1/2 inches from the edge of the bumper. If your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up the 7-way and install a brake controller.
