Wrestling with installation isn't fun, and you won't have to with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver. Its bolt-on design means no drilling or welding is required. Just line it up and secure it to your vehicle's frame, making it a headache-free addition to your ride.
Need to tow heavy? This hitch has got you covered with a maximum gross trailer weight of 6,000 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of up to 900 pounds. It can handle your heavy-duty tasks, including those hefty work trailers or weekend adventures with your RV.
Rust is the last thing you want on your hitch. The stylish gloss black powder coat finish not only looks sharp but also offers top-tier rust resistance, keeping your hitch looking and performing its best through all kinds of weather.
A perfect hitch fit means a smoother ride with less vibration. Thanks to the precision, robotic welding, this hitch is designed to maximize strength and improve fit, ensuring a more stable and secure towing experience.
Whether driving a cargo or passenger van, this hitch is versatile enough to fit a wide range of Ford Transit models, from the T-150 to the T350, including variations with or without bumper cutouts.
Quality and dependability are built right in, with the hitch being assembled in the USA. It's a talking point you can rely on and trust, knowing it’s constructed to meet rigorous standards for your adventures.
Tech Tip
Hitch does not fit Cab and Chassis or Cutaway models. No drilling through vehicle frame required for installation , Mounting holes are not weldnuts, so they do not have threads. Hardware includes self-threading bolts (do not use an impact wrench to thread holes), but it is recommended to use an M12 x 1.75 tap to thread the mounting holes before installing hardware.
Good, solid hitch with all the necessary hardware. Simple install. My bumper supports have a saddle over them on each side, where the first two bolts (rear-most) are located. This lowers the hitch so at the forward-most bolt (the one with a nut on it) there’s a gap between the hitch and the bumper support. I slipped a washer between the hitch and bumper support at this point so it doesn’t stress the bumper support when it’s torqued down. (See pics; washers are silver ) Otherwise, simple, fast install with good directions and torque specs included. Took an hour with my 9yr old grandson doing most of the wrenching.
Shipping was fast but the shipper tore the box open and my wiring kit was lost. I emailed Lauren and a new kit was shipped within a couple hours. I’ll definitely be back with any trailer-related needs. Prices here were lower than every other place i checked and shipping was free. Thanks again.
Incredible price on a great hitch from Curt. I have no idea how etrailer can offer free shipping on something like this, but they do. Awesome. I ordered the ball mount complete with 2" ball and pin/clip which was likewise priced extremely competitively. The hitch bolted up to my Transit T-250 easily. I took the extra step of running a tap into the (4) unthreaded holes on the van, but it's not necessary. For me, it just made the install a little easier and made me feel better. The new Transits are generally lower in the rear vs. the old E series van's, so I flipped the ball mount into the "rise" position to get the right ball height. Stated specs for the ball mount were 2" Drop and 3/4" Rise.
Installed it myself. Had some trouble getting self taping bolts started. Might be me.
I am 79 maybe 40 or 50 years ago I would not had to use method shown in attached photo. I have installed several of these trailer hitches and several base plats over the years.

Using a bottle jack to exert upward pressure on the bolts is a great idea, but the easiest way to go would be to use an M12x1.75 thread tap to chase the sleeves before installing the hitch bolts.
etrailer.com was great. The hitch was delivered in a timely manner, and at a good price.
The Curt hitch was very nice. The weld and finish was excellent, no spatter. The mounting holes lined up perfectly.
So, the reason I only gave 4 stars is because I had to go to HD to get new bolts and lock washers. The supplied 12mm/1.75 "self tapping" bolts should have been called "self destroying". The vehicles metal frame is much harder than the bolts causing the threads to crush and flatten. If this is by design, I don't get it. Luckily, I had a 12mm/1.75 tap in my tool box. Once the thread were tapped properly, the HD bolts and lock washers worked perfectly. It just sucks I had to spend an extra $9.
Fit great and got here quick.
Great service, speedy shipment!
Fit just as advertised, installed in less than 60 minutes. My only surprise was how hard the self taping inserts were to thread into, but this is a ford thing, nothing to do with the hitch. Be prepared to really have to muscle in the self threading bolts. My Bosch electric hammer drill was not strong enough to do all the threading, I had to the last half by hand. Great customer service, hassle free shipping. 2016 fort transit 350.
Shipping was quick. The hitch does have a few drawbacks. The finish was peeling and cracked when it came out of the box. I hit it with a little shake and shoot as you can't see it when mounted. The self threading bolts were a little less then desirable, I ended up using one to thread all the holes then switched them out.
Fit perfect!
For pulling toys behind my Ford transit 350 camper van, this hitch has proven to work flawlessly. More than adequate for what I am able to use it for.
As always quick and responsive order processing. Received my hitch and wiring harness in 4 days. Install of the hitch is simple, it took less than 10 minutes with the proper tools. (Impact is a must). Wiring harness connectors were a little off, easily corrected by shaving off the right side fin. If you want keep the wiring inside the van, remove the rear step trim and the driver side rear panel you can find power back there and save yourself running it all the way to the battery.
Well first off I received it within 3 days period it was very simple to install it was a total of 6 bolts and it took me and my son maybe 8 minutes all in to put it up. I think it's great especially for the price and it has some really good powder coating on it period I would recommend it
It came in great condition as the box is strong and it is pinned . It was super easy to install. I did it alone . Came fast and I am super happy

Great
Wow! Shipping was very fast. And, the only way installation could have been easier is, if etrailer would have done it.
Vey pleased.

Item has worked as expected.I would recommend.
The Curt hitch for my new 2015 Ford Transit 250 did not end up being the "bolt on" item expected. My Ford did not have the threaded weld nuts that the Ford prototypes had. etrailer called Curt and discussed the problem while I was on the phone. etrailer was very helpful and gave me the contact info at Curt. This was a new but easy to solve problem that involved tapping the weld nut "blanks". I think the hitch is very well made, and I could not be more pleased with how I was treated by etrailer and Curt.

Works fine. Havent lost a trailer, and nothing is broken. What else could I ask for!
Found the trailer hitch that matched our vehicle, ordered, it was here within a week (actually a few days) and was already easily installed by my husband.
This is the second time I ordered from etrailer.com and the second time I am entirely pleased with their service and expertise. My first order was a bit more complex as it was a towbar for our RV and Ford Econoline van.
Why waste time and money going elsewhere when etrailer.com has everything you need for a reasonable price and gets it to you in time for even a last minute trailer part need!

We have no complaints on the hitch, we seldom use it but its good to have when we need it.
The rear bolts would not thread into the frame, I had to drill and tap the 4 bolts then the installation went fast. The front bolt on the passenger's side is blocked by the tail pipe so you can not use a socket on the bolt. It took about 2 hours to install. The trailer hitch looks great and works fine.

Still a good looking hitch and working hard!
Bolt on hitch was solid and easy to install. We used an impact gun to thread the bolt into the frame. Kit comes with 2 wires to fish the bolt and plate through the bolt on hitch. This made the whole process easy to install and took us less than 30 min to complete. We did however use a jack and a plank wood to hold up the hitch while bolting to the frame.

Great! We use it every weekend to haul the trailer around.
WOW! Really nice trailer hitch. Much heavier and better looking than I expected. Compared to a life time of trucks with hitches, this one is the heaviest construction and best welds I've seen. Nice job, well done.

Great! And the electrical works perfect.
Everything worked perfectly - I could not be more pleased! I am a novice and 30 minutes to install the hitch is very realistic. Using an impact driver helped a lot to get the self-tapping screws started. Thank you for the great product and installation information.

Still 5 stars!
Hitch did not come out far enough from bumper
When I attempted to hook up trailer it hit the bumper
I had to buy extension and it solved the problem

Please keep in mind most hitch extenders will cut your tongue weight in half. I would recommend purchasing a long ball mount. Long ball mounts do not cut your tongue weight because they do not create an extra breaking point in the system. I have a link to part # D-26. This Curt ball mount will give you an extra 12-58 of length on your setup. If you need a shorter ball mount I recommend Draw Tite long ball mount part # 40330. Part # 40330 is 8-1/2 inches long.
This was exactly what I needed for my 2015 Ford Transit. Quick shipping and very easy to install. It only took about 20 minutes to set the bolts. I have used it for the past year and have had no issues. I highly recommend this receiver.
