Well designed. Tight area to fit. I have bought several Hitches from you thru the years. All have been satisfactory.

by:

Installed in under 45 minutes with just a creeper and some simple hand tools. Didn’t have a Jack or anything but was able to hang it in place and then run bolts through. High quality good looking hitch!

by:

Great buying experience and pretty easy to install. (I am a mechanic). I don't use hitch as much as expected but still seems to be holding up great after a year. Good product at a reasonable price.

by:

Good experience.

by:

Hitch lined up nicely for my escape. Was shipped fast and the tracking on-site is very nice! Installation went pretty smooth. Highly suggest watching the video. For instance on my year the holes that the bolts are fed through needed enlarging. Only complaint was it would have been nice to have 6 wires for feeding the bolts instead of 4 but I just did. Side at a time. Overall very happy.

by:

I am not very mechanically inclined and I watched a how to video on YouTube and within an hour I had it on and its solid! It fit perfectly. Great product.

by:

Great product, finish looks great. Installation was fast and easy. I did have help from a buddy that put a few on before and I'm mechanically inclined, so more hands equal less work.

by:

great hitch looks good and fits good.I am 66 and installed it myself.I am very satisfied and would highly recommend.

  • Trailer Hitch And Bike Rack For A 2012 Ford Escape
Hello Chris. For your 2012 Ford Escape I recommend the Curt Class 3 Hitch # 13650. This hitch has a 2" receiver which is standard and will give you a ton of options for a bike rack. My personal favorite bike rack is the Kuat NV 2.0 # BA22B. This rack will work with the 2" hitch and it can carry 2 bike weighing up to 60 lbs apiece. So this will work with virtually any bike, even heavier e-bikes. It will also accommodate larger tires up to 5" wide. The Kuat racks are top quality, and it...

  • Replacement Hardware for Curt 13650 Trailer Hitch Receiver
We do have replacement hardware for the Curt # 13650. The bolts are easy to come by, but since you need the square hole spacers you'll have to get the entire kit. What you need is the Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches # RHK. Enter the hitch number 13650 in the Hitch Item Number field and add it to your cart. I have attached an installation video along with the written instructions for the hitch for your reference.

  • Difference Between Curt 13650 and 13651 on 2008 Ford Escape
The difference between the two Curt hitches is the fitment. The # 13650 is designed for the 2008 Ford Escape that does not have a factory hitch installed. The # C13651 is designed to fit models with the 1-1/4" factory hitch.

  • Trailer Hitch and 4-Way Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2010 Ford Escape
If your trailer only has taillight functions and no brakes or other wiring required a 4-way harness would be all that you need to tow it. For that all you would need is the part # 118551 which is a confirmed fit. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. For a trailer hitch you would want the Curt part # 13650 which is a confirmed fit and our most popular option we offer for your 2010 Ford Escape. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13650 is not a fit for your 1997 Dakota or 2005 Ram 1500. It is fit for 2005 - 2012 Ford Escape, 2005 - 2011 Mercury Mariner, and 2005 - 2011 Mazda Tribute. For your 2005 Ram 1500 you will want the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13333 which also does not fit a 1997 Dodge Dakota. It sounds like you have a hitch from a Dakota and it will not fit your Ram.

  • How Hidden Will The Curt Round Trailer Hitch Be On My 2011 Ford Escape
We do have pictures of the Curt Class III Hitch installed on a 2010 Ford Escape, check out the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 13650. The Curt round hitches do not stick out too far from the vehicle and for the most part are hidden. The round-tube design allows the hitch to sit closer to the vehicle fascia. I would recommend going with the Class III 2 inch hitch, part # 13650, as it is the highest rated hitch available for your 2011 Ford Escape. Also, 2 inch hitches are compatible...

  • Fit of Curt Class III Receiver # 13650 on 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid
The Curt Class III receiver you mentioned, part # 13650 is indeed compatible with the Hybrid model of the 2005 Ford Escape. I have confirmed this with Curt Manufacturing. The 2 inch receiver opening will provide an excellent attachment point for a hitch mounted bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory. I have linked you to a list of the most popular bike racks among Ford Escape owners. If you will be towing with your Escape, be sure not to exceed the stated towing capacity listed in...

  • Differences between the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13651 and # 13650 for a Ford Escape
I spoke with my contact at Curt and he told me that the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C13651, does sit lower to the ground than the Curt Hitch, # 13650. Both trailer hitches will fit the 2005 to 2011 Ford Escape without a factory hitch, but the # C13651 will fit on models that were equipped with a factory 1-1/4 inch hitch. Once installed, the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13651 will sit approximately 13-1/2 inches from the ground and hitch # 13650 will sit approximately 13-1/4 inches from the ground....

  • Size Bolts to Install Curt Class III Trailer Hitch on 2011 Ford Escape
The 6 bolts you should have received with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13650 are 1/2-13 x 1 3/4 carriage bolts with the 1-3/4 number meaning the total length of the threaded bolt. This isn't a common issue with the bolts not working but you may need to use the drilling method as highlighted in the attached installation instructions. I have also attached an installation video that we made for this trailer hitch on a 2011 Escape that you can also reference.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver, Ball Mount, and Wiring for 2011 Ford Escape
I do not have any information on the factory hitch height of the 2011 Ford Escape, but I can help you with how to measure it. To measure the height of a trailer hitch you will measure from the ground (on a level surface) to the top of the opening. I've attached an article to show you this and how it applies to measuring for ball mount height to tow a trailer level. For your 2011 Ford Escape, Curt trailer hitch receiver # 13650 is 15-1/4 inches from the ground to the top opening of the...

Assuming that your Escape uses a stock wheel/tire, the top of the receiver for the Curt # 13650 would be 16 inches above the ground. Getting the trailer to tow so that it is level is not an exact science. If you can get it within 1-1/2 to 2 inches of level, you are doing just fine. It is better to have the coupler height a bit higher than level than lower. In addition to the hitch, wiring harness and ball mount, you might also need the following: Pin and clip, part # PC3 Locking stainless...

  • What Is The Difference Between The Curt Hitches # 13650 and # C13651
The difference between the Curt # 13650 and # C13651 hitches are pretty simple. The # C13651 hitch is designed to fit your 2008 Mariner if you already have an OEM trailer hitch installed. It will also work for your vehicle whether it has a hitch installed or not. The # 13650 trailer hitch will not work with vehicles that have an OEM trailer hitch installed. If you do not have an OEM hitch, then the # 13650 will work great for you.

Please keep in mind that if you already have a factory hitch the Curt # 13650 will not be a fit.
