This hitch is working well, hidden when not in use and stable when in use. I carrying 2 bicycles with it. Weight of bikes and rack is near 100 lbs.
Works well on a 2019 VW R, I use this for attaching my bike rack to the vehicle only and had no interest in towing. During the installation the instructions suggest removing the foam insert. I contacted the manufacture and discussed based on the discussion I decided to keep the insert installed. I experienced no issues with the installation or use of.
Excellent product. Got it installed on a 2017 Golf R without discarding OEM foam and no issues with the blind spot monitors either. Jigsaw made easy work of notching out the valance, and the included notch trim turns even an imperfect cut into a perfect finish. Only complaint is that the receiver wasn't welded perfectly square to the crossbar. I measured it to be exactly 1 degree off, and you'd be surprised how plainly noticeable that is when your accessory is folded up.
Fits perfectly. Had to get this hitch delivered on separate occasions from different vendors due to alignment issues, but eventually got one that fit perfectly.
