Powder coat finish resists rust.The item looks great, but it would not fit because the two far ends were too close together and would not fit around the frame. I used a floor jack and a two by four to push the two far ends apart. This really worries me because I did not want to weaken the welding. I think about it every time I tow my boat, which I am sure will drive me nuts. I hope the welds song give.
First I installed curt hitch for my highlander 2013 limited Edition.that did not look good because that crossarm hanging down and receiver was too much projected out then I check ecohide hitch on etrailer website. I ordered it and it resolved my both problem plus this hitch have more tongue weight rating then curt hitch one.
I like the hitch and it installed with a minimum of difficulty. The most time consuming operation was the cutting and reinstalling of the plastic trim pieces. It looks great and seems to be of high quality. I wasn't able to complete the job today because I was missing the two cross-tube brackets. All the necessary bolts, nuts and washers were there, but no brackets. I will definitely raise the rating after I receive them.
Love the hitch. Tucks nicely behind bumper facia and only the square receptacle is visible. Also nothing protrudes to hit shins upon.
Here's a video of my installation in case it helps - Paid for expedited service and they delivered it a day early. Well done.

I do not want you to worry about the hitch. It actually happens from time to time where the side brackets are knocked out of alignment and the bolt holes then do not line up. As long as they are not off by more than a half inch then it is ok. The way that you spread the side brackets is one way that we suggest.
