Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Ford

Removing the muffler from the rubber mounts was not easy. I tried soapy water for a long time then went to silicone. Forget the soapy water...go silicone. This is definitely a job done much more easily with two people. But, once in place and secure it looks great and works great. I would definitely recommend over paying close to $500 for the Ford installed version.

by:

I choose etrailer for the name brand qualities that use - drawtite is well known and when I received it, it did not dissapoint.

Other than price, the installation videos sealed the deal.

by:

Nice company to do business with. The hitch was receive in less than a week. It took less than 45 minutes to get it installed. The wiring kit was very easy to install. I even got a follow up email from this company to make sure that everything was OK.

by:

Very easy to install, just follow the instructions as they are laid out in order. You will have no problems at all. I only wish that they made an aftermarket hitch that installed behind the removable bumper cover insert.

2013 Ford Explorer

The Hidden Hitch trailer hitch receiver and vehicle wiring harness I ordered for my 2013 Ford Explorer arrived fast and installed quickly. I am very impressed with both purchases and will certainly purchase from you again.

by:

I initially ordered the wrong hitch and contact etrailer by email immediately to address the issue. I had nothing but excellent service. The correct hitch was ordered and the incorrect hitch was removed. I received the ordered items promptly. I am completely happy with the service I received.

I have yet to put the part on at this time.

Thank you for such great service. I look forward to installing and using the hitch.

I will highly recommend etrailer to my friends and family.

Pictures of the hitch on my new 2011 Ford Explorer!

by:

The Hidden Hitch is great. Easy installation. Clean concealed look. Exactly as described.

by:

Rather than write a product review, which is very good, I want to write a report on the excellent level of service received from etrailer.
Great upfront information, tracking data, and especially the follow up. I have never received the level of complete service on a vehicle accessory plus details installation instruction that were easy to follow.
I received the hitch yesterday and installed in by myself in under one hour.

As I need additional accessories I will rely on etrailer.

Thanks. Your service is what service should be.

2011 Ford Explorer

I bought a new 2011 Ford Explorer, I need to pull a small utility trailer. I bought this hitch from etrailer, this was so easy to install. It took about an hour to install by myself. Reading the directions, they were very easy to understand. The tips were very helpful too, soap was a very helpful tip to get the rubber isolators off the exhaust. I lowered the exhaust in the three places, and it fit perfectly. One thing I needed to do that was a pain was to do as they said, I should have tightened the bolts to # 6, 7, and 8 before I raised the hitch onto the car. I thought it only needed to be in place before installing. Make sure to put on the rubber isolators onto #6, 7, and 8 and tighten the set up before raising the hitch onto the car (it was a pain to tighten while hitch was up on the car. The hitch looks great, it is not ugly and works great. See attached pics.

Scratched in the shipping. No protection whatsoever in the packaging. Disappointing. Etrailer needs to find better ways to protect items when shipping. Not installed yet. Have to repair the paint first. Their solution “use some rustoleum”
Good customer service though.

by:

This was a perfect fit for my 2017 Ford Explorer. The included instructions were perfect and made the installation quick and easy. My hats off to wtrailer for offering the perfect fit and great quality hitches!

by:

Product is ok overall but it was packaged carelessly and arrived poking out of the box. No padding or support whatsoever. Paint was scuffed off the edges from being bounced and dragged around during shipping. Additional smaller boxes were inside the main box and all had holes or were also crushed. Response from seller was that the packing worked as intended.

2016 Ford Explorer

In this month of July, I’ve purchased a receiver hitch for both of my rigs. I have successfully installed both of them and have used our bicycle rack on both. I’m 68 years old and recently retired. The videos supplied by e trailer were so precise and accurate in helping me get the job done. I took my time on both installs. The receiver on the 2016 Ford Fusion took me two hours and the install on my 2013 Ford Explorer took 3 hours.
A second set of hands would have been helpful, but I didn’t have help. I used my hydraulic jack and zip ties to lift and hold the receiver hitches in place while bolting to vehicles. It worked very well.
Thanks e trailer for delivering quality to my door and providing excellent videos to help this garage do it yourselfer

Double check the fit at the top. I followed the link from Google for my search of a 2021 and saw the fit check mark at top. It wasn't my vehicle (too late). Now I have to pay $xx for shipping to send it back. I don't think I'll buy from etrailer again. Going to Amazon.

  • 2015 Ford Explorer Transmission Cooler Recommendation
If your 2015 Ford Explorer has any of the V6 engines available it will have a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. Your Class III hitch like the Draw Tite # 76034 should have capacities that are right at the same capacity. For a transmission cooler you would want the Derale part # D13503 which would work well in your Explorer.

  • Do Curt and Draw-Tite Hitches for 2017 Ford Explorer Use Door in Bumper Fascia Like Factory Hitch
None of the hitches we offer for the 2017 Ford Explorer would install so that the receiver tube extends through the bumper like the factory hitch would. The hitches offered by our suppliers would install so that the receiver tube would sit directly under the bumper, like the Curt # C13386 shown in the provided photo. Once the hitch is installed, it wouldn't interfere with the door in the bumper face. An aftermarket hitch like the Curt # C13386 is typically much less expensive and the install...

The Draw-Tite Class III # 76034, the etrailer.com # e98867, and the Curt # C13386 trailer hitches that are available for your 2018 Ford Explorer all feature an extremely similar design and will mount using the same existing holes on the vehicle's frame. The primary difference between the three models are their weight capacities, which is why I recommend the Draw-Tite # 76034. • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2018 Ford Explorer for Towing and Bike Rack
The trailer hitch I highly recommend for your 2018 Ford Explorer that will allow you to both tow a trailer and use it for a bike rack is the Draw-Tite # 76034 because it has the best tongue weight capacity at 675 lbs which will give you the most leeway when towing and is an easy, bolt-on installation that will not require drilling into your Explorer's frame to install.
