This fully welded, corrosion-resistant vehicle trailer hitch receiver is perfect for your light-duty towing needs. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. Drawbar sold separately.

Specs:
Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Much sturdier than the hitch on my 2004 Accord. Excellent for my bike rack. Instructions for cutting hole in plastic panel could have been more precise.
The Hitch: While mesuements are given for cutting the opening, the drawing is not a 100% accurate to match the panel and there is no referance as to exactly where to measure from in either direction. If you guess from how the poor instruction drawing looks you will be wrong.
The Wiring: Exactly how to remove the panels is not completely addressed and this proved to be the hardest and most annoying part of the installation. Where and in what direction to pry, lift push or pull would be useful. It would probaly be better to ignor most of the instructions and figure it out yourself.
I bought this for a 2012 Honda CRV to carry a bike rack. It was very easy to install, required no welding and only took about 45 minutes to install. It looks good mounted and seems very durable. I would highly recommend this hitch to anyone!!
300 / 3000 is in-line with the European specs for this car.
Everything was well packaged and stapled or taped to prevent shifting.
Easy to install and all hardware was included.
Didn’t have ‘special’ tool to remove muffle hangers however channel locks on the rubber and center steel pin made it real easy to get off.
Tap and die set and 3 in 1 oil made it easier to ‘clean’ the nut plates.
I have ordered from Etrailer before and will again when I get a different car.
Hitch came in on-time yesterday. We read the instructions and watched the video 2x before installation. The measurement for cutting the plastic liner on a 2015 Honda CRV was off by 1". It was 16" from the tow hook hole rather than 17". Other than that, instructions were spot on. It helps to install the u hook first to hold the weight of the hitch. This additional contact point with the vehicle also made for a very solid installation. Glad we went with this particular hitch.

Doing great!
Excellent Fit!
The additional customer reviews/feedback, as well as pictures of customer installation were VERY helpful...As a result, we did not need to cut-out a piece of the underbody shrouding, only make a slit (that we neatly "taped-up" after completing the install).

Update: Product & install continues to impress….Thank you!!
This hitch mounted to my CRV without any problems. It is a nice tight installation with only the receiver being visible.
I also installed the wiring kit. The video was very helpful on the technique for removing the interior panels.

The hitch is still on the CRV. Ive only used it a couple of times since hauling a small trailer from California to Utah. The hitch works as designed and is not obtrusive on the vehicle.
Solid build, perfect fit, great price.
Installation videos were a great help -- BUT!! you don't have to drop the panel! Just cut the hole using the measurements in the printed instructions. (the width on the sheet is 4.5" -- in reality, it's closer to 5.5" with the difference being toward the center of the vehicle) Not dropping and reinstalling the panel saved a bunch of time. I live in New England and my 2015 CRV had rust in all 4 main holes. I had to chase all with a tap (M10 x 1.25) and that really extended my installation time. Definatly try to thread into all 4 before you have the hitch raised up or you will struggle.
I actually only cut 3 sides of the the rectangle -- left the driver's side edge as a hinge. I cut off an inch wide strip to allow for the hitch, then riveted a patch across the gap tp keep the "door" closed. See pic. I figured if the Honda engineers thought this panel was worth making, I would do what I could to keep it intact.
Good Luck!
Fit perfectly. No issues. Seems very sturdy for holding my bike rack. Was a little tough to install without a helper, but I attached it to the tow hook with the U bolt to help get it into position. Also, I did not remove the plastic panel to cut the access hole. Simply marked it according to the directions and then cut it while still on the car.

Still works perfectly!
Great product!! Easy install if you have the right tools and someone to help hold the hitch up while you secure it.
I've uploaded some pictures on the installation and included captions for each. Hopefully these will help others.
2014 CR-V
Pic #01 - Before
Pic #02 - I used (borrowed) a floor jack and jack stands for more room to work. Be sure to block both front tires if you use jack stands!!
Pic #03 - Use soapy water to help remove rubber, muffler hangers.
Pic #04 - I did not remove the plastic panel under the car. Seems like a lot of extra work!! The directions tell you to cut out a hole in the plastic panel for the hitch bracket. I was apprehensive cutting a hole because I was worried about debris getting in there. I decided to cut a flap instead.
Pic #05 - Once I cut the flap, I had my wife support the hitch so I could get the hitch in place. I then used the u-bolt to support the weight of the hitch so my wife didn't have to stand there and hold it.
Pic #06 - I inserted the 2 bolts to support the hitch bracket above the muffler. Don't tighten the bolts at this time. I only have them in with 3 or 4 turns.
Pic #07 - I inserted the 2 bolts to support the hitch bracket in the hole of the plastic panel. Again, don't tighten the bolts at this time. I only have them in with 3 or 4 turns.
*Note - If you tighten all of the bolts at this time, it will be difficult to get one of the rubber, muffler hangers back on its mount. Center the hitch first using the factory tie down loop under the car as a guide. I tightened the 2 bolts inside the flap first and then attached the muffler hangers. I had to use a wrench to tighten the bolt above the muffler and a ratchet for the other. Tighten the u-bolt last.
Pic #08 - I cut a small strip off of the flap about the same width as the hitch mount.
Pic #09 - Push flap back up.
Pic #10 - I used black gorilla tape to secure the flap. Use simple green or other degreaser to clean the panel first. We'll see how long the tape lasts, but it's easy to replace if needed.
Pic #11 - After
Pic #12 - Now I can attach my bike rack so I can go mountain biking!! :)
Perfect fit, and great step by step instructions. I'll be back for all my trailer accessories.

My hitch has worked all year without a hitch so to speak I am very satisfied with it.
Installation took longer because of the appearance panel under the CR-V but piece lined up correctly and went together well.

Hitch looks good still just a little paint peeling on the end. Seems solid
The draw tight hitch and the t one harness install was just as discribed, high quality and easy install made way easier after watching the videos .your site is the best place to get a hitch and accessories for sure , best price by far. The only thing I did different from hitch install video was not drop the plastic splash shield just cut it the same and leave one side ( the driver side edge ) not cut . Like a flap whe done I put it back in place and put little holes in the plastic and secured it with nylon ties . Thanks for a quick delivery.
I had a worry about cutting such a large hole in the 'appearance panel' under the rig. You can't really see it so it must have some purpose other than appearance. Instead I used some metal snips and a 1" wood bit and made a slit and some access holes. I plugged the holes with plastic caps I bought at Ace-True Value. Seems to work just fine. Photos attached.
Easy to install. I removed cover to cut. I didn't cut piece completely out. Left one side attached and put back in place with black tie raps. See Pictures. Also left white noise barrier in place. Just leave one side attached and fold back down.
I installed the hitch receiver onto our 2023 Kia Sorento. It was very easy to install. There was no drilling and the holes lined up for a simple installation. Removing and re-attaching the muffler supports were much easier than I anticipated. It works well for carrying our bike rack and pulling our trailer.
I bought this hitch to tow a light sailboat and had previously bought one for my Volvo which was great. It came early and free shipping for some reason. It is over-rated for the CRV tow capacity but I see no harm and it was light enough to hold in place while bolting. The CRV has a plastic mud shield under the trunk and this has to be cut for the hitch anchors to penetrate up to the frame. I used the instruction sheet measurements and the excellent video but would try it again without removing the plastic panel, (that is a pain) and make the rectangular cutout a half inch larger all around for ease of working. I saved the piece and vinyl taped it back. I just undid the inside muffler hanger (lots of silicone spray first) then put it back when the hitch was just barely hung by starter bolts. You can wiggle the muffler suspension rubber block through the right end hitch leg opening. I should have slipped off the suspension arm on the muffler (lower one) instead of the upper one on the frame. The whole thing is very accurate, goes right into place and lines up with the valance covering the rear bumper, very accurate fit. You get a U bolt to fasten the hitch to the factory CRV tow loop for additional support. The Draw Tite one is a easy bolt up to Honda with this design, and doable without help.

Thank you for your review and your business, Jack. Great information on the install! The weight capacitity of each component - the tow vehicle, the trailer hitch, ballmount, ball, and safety chains - must be greater than the gross trailer weight GTW. The towing system will only be as strong as the weakest piece. For more information on towing, please see this article:

The little Draw Tite 1-1/4 inch hitch is black and shiny after many salt water launchings maybe powdercoat? It looks classier than some I see even on a Honda, good design, fit and function.
The hitch was installed easily and took about 1.5 hours. The major problem was lack of experience with the installation on a newly purchased car. Not wanting to damage the various plastic clips, I used excessive care in their removal. One major concern that I had was the re installation of the plastic splash/dirt shield. In the video, the installer did not re-install the shield "at the owner's request". The installation information that came with the hitch showed a diagram with only one small section cut out. I followed the diagram carefully but found that the shield would not fit over or under the cross member of the hitch. As a result I had to cut out much of the shield thus reducing the number of connection points between the shield and the bottom of the car.
I believe that you should update both the YouTube video and your instructions to coincide with the realities of a Honda 2913 CRV.

Dave, thank you for your thorough feedback. I am going to forward your suggestions on improving the panel trimming instructions to Hidden Hitch, the manufacturer of this hitch. As for updating our video, the installation video of this hitch on a 2013 Honda CR-V available at the moment was made in house during an installation on a customer vehicle. Per the instructions, we gave our customer the choice as to whether they would like the appearance panel trimmed or removed completely. We really do have to accommodate their requests. However, we now realize that seeing this step would be extremely beneficial to our customers. The next opportunity we have to install this hitch on a 2013 Honda CR-V, we will be sure to ask if we can get some footage demonstrating the panel trimming and re-installation process.

I am traying to install a Hitch to my 2012 CRV but I see you remove a plastic cover that cover the bottom of the CRV before the installation . Do you re-install the botton plastic cover once you complete the installation of the hitch?Regards,

HiThe hitch has worked well, both with my trailer and bicycle rack. I dont think there has been a problem as a result of cutting away the splash shield. But time will tell!!!Dave
The trailer hitch went on with out a hitch(haha) . Easy installation the on site video' s where very helpful they gave me the confidence to install the hitch myself . The wiring harness video made it look easy as well, but panels pulled off ok there isn't much room for big hands plus 100 degree days in South carolina plus another panel up near the rear seats popped off that wasn't in the video they were a bugger to get back together .Persistence payed off everything got back together . I haven't used the hitch yet this is the second hitch I've purchased from etrailer and had no problems with first one so I am confident this one will be fine also .

Still works great I hook up my 14ft Alumacraft boat and trailer to the Draw-Tite hitch on my CR-V plug the trailer lights in and away I go .
This receiver hitch fits perfect on our 2014 Honda CRV. It was easy for me to install as my son did all the work and i was the helper. Took a little less than an hour. My wife and I installed the trailer wiring harness from Etrailer its also perfect. The real test was hooking up my fishing boat and trip to lake, hitch worked fine and all trailer lights worked great,

trailer hitch is fine...the turn signals on trailer are not working i put submersible trailer lights on trailer worked for a while i need to check out the problem i dont think its the harness from car
This is the second hitch and wiring harness I've purchased from eTrailer. Both experiences have been great. This order was delivered in two days, and it came in great shape. I put the hitch on my CR-V by myself last night. Took me about an hour, and it was very simple to do. I think eTrailer's prices and service are great, and they will be my first choice in the future if I need to get a third hitch assembly or harness.

I recently sold my CR-V and upgraded to a Pilot. Bought my third hitch assembly and wiring harness from etrailer. Again, great price and quick delivery. This assembly was even easier to install than on the CR-V. The installation videos on etrailer’s website are extremely helpful.
Fast service, great communication and installation video.
Only took 3 & 1/2 hours to install!
The videos were excellent and the tip on cleaning/clearing the bolt threads helped me greatly!
Since the car was 8 years old I did have some rust buildup above the muffler. I needed to use a tap by hand to clear out the threads along with WD40. Not a lot of room above.the muffler so you need to find a short 1/4” square socket adapter or use a die and take off the two handles so you can use the holder to turn the tap.
I found a die threader that fit the 1/4” square end.
The delivery was prompt and the hardware is solid. I watched the installation video which was great. I decided to cut the opening in the rear panel without removing it. The material was easy to cut using a sharp utility knife. Pulling the muffler from the rubber supports took a liberal amount of lubricant, but eventually they came loose. Installing the hitch was straight forward, but it is a 2 person job to get it in place to start the fasteners. It took me about an hour to install and it looks great. Looking forward to hitching my bike rack and riding again.

I have had no issues with the hitch. I have used it with a cargo carrier and 1800lbs trailer. Cargo carrier, I probably had over loaded with 10 bags of multch however the hitch and mounting points worked flawlessly.
