Installation of the Draw-Tite Class II receiver hitch and T-One wiring harness took 3 hours on my 2007 Jeep Compass. Now I'm ready for boating season. Instructions were straight forward for both items.

Put it on my 2017 jeep patriot and pulled a u haul moving trailer from Rhode island to Indianapolis. Then in Indianapolis I bought a pop up camper hauled it back to the house in indy and in. October of this year am hauling another u haul trailer to Florida then back to indy pick up the pop up and take it back to Florida with me!!!best hitch I ever bought!!!!will always come to you guys for all my jeep accessories !!!!!

Excellent it has been a year and I went from rhode isalnd to indiana back to rhode island to florida back to rhode island moved to indiana and then moved to Florida where I reside now. I will always use your products the are proven to meet and exceed my standards of travel!!!!

The trailer hitch still works great! Going to be using it quite a bit this summer with my bike rack and hitch-haul tray.
It fits - installed on a new 2016 Jeep Patriot. Build quality of the hitch is OK, but had some burrs that needed filing off. I would not say it's an easy installation, but it can be done without dropping the exhaust system.

Hitch is holding up just fine.
Hitch is exactly as I expected. Installation is just like the video. 2012 Jeep Patriot. I am 70, reasonably fit for age, and managed it without assistance and without a hoist or jacking vehicle. Supported the exhaust system on wood blocks during the installation. On 2012 Patriot there is a emissions control-related cannister in left rear that interferes a little but can be maneuvered around without much trouble. Socket wrench extensions are probably a necessity. Unless a person is mechanically challenged or in subpar condition, I think this 1 person self install of this hitch on the Patriot is quite doable. Otherwise, get a teenager to help.
I installed this hitch on a 2011 Jeep Patriot yesterday. The instructions are horrible. The part with the measurements are very confusing and they would have you cut the fascia lengthwise 2". Well let me tell you that I ended up cutting 3 3/4" up the fascia to get this hitch on there. The instructions need some modifications.
The hitch is a draw-tite and they speak for themselves. The instructions didn't mention dropping the exhaust either. I found that in one of the three videos I watched.
The hitch installed well and I'll no doubt be happy with it. Installation is well within the DIY range. The video was quite helpful. Still, I have a few thoughts for improvement: (1) Removing the rubber muffler mounts was by far the most difficult step, and some additional suggestions would be useful. I managed to get them off by using a small flat head screwdriver along the shaft and prying the rubber mount over the shoulder. There's no way they were just going to slide off. (2) The mounting bolts & nuts are 7/8" - a problem since most standard socket sets & box-end wrench sets have 3/4" as the largest size. I had to buy a socket & combination wrench in order to tighten - pliers were a non-starter. (3) Nowhere in the video or the printed instructions does it say how far (vertically) to cut the fascia. There's a photo in the printed instructions that helps you guess, but an expected measurement would be helpful.
This is a very nice product. I used my floor jack and installed the hitch without a problem. The only thing that is a problem is re-installing the rear tow hook. Draw-Tite says to simply drill out the tow hook to 5/8" and install with the hitch. Well, let me tell you that tow hook is very hard. After trying 3 metal bits on my drill press, I took the hook to a tool and die shop. They had a tough time drilling through it with their bits. The owner said "wow that thing was hard". I've read many forums where people are re-installing the hook and hitch with the original Jeep hook bolts. I was not comfortable doing that. Anyway, the hitch and hook are installed with the supplied 5/8" bolts, torqued down, and lookin good.
Great price on the hitch and received free shipping when i purchased a Jeep receiver cover and Christian fish emblem to bring the total to just over the required $150.00 minimum for free shipping . With minimal experience I installed the hitch on my 2012 Jeep Patriot in under an hour and it looks great ! I did not get the wiring package at this time as I only intend to be hauling my bike rack and Mountain Bikes to the Mountain Bike Trails near and far . Bought this for my 2010 Compass. First, shipping was fast. Installation took 20 minutes for the hitch. Looks great, fits right. I also bought the vehicle specific wiring kit... admittedly I only bought it to qualify for free shipping, but after installing the kit, I will never ever ever splice another wire on my vehicles again. So clean looking, easy, and you don't have to cut wires on your new car or truck.

I was able to install this hitch myself on my 2011 Jeep Patriot Latitude. I did so in my carport, without a lift or jack, there was just enough room. It was a tight fit to get the torque wrench in there to tighten up the bolts, but I got them all, and did NOT have to remove the muffler, heat shield or this black device attached to the frame, next to the heat shield. I had to do some trimming on the rear fascia as it curves all the way down below the muffler. (I only had to trim the center, about 6-8" up, and aprox 6" across (could have been less, 2" or so, but I was unsure about how the safety chain loops would fit. The wiring harness was not too hard to install either. Good products. Thanks. Dan S.

Bought this trailer receiver about a year ago for the use of having a bike rack on my car. Has worked perfect so far, have had no issues with it whatsoever. Great product
Ordering was a "breeze" and delivery was extremely prompt.
Installation was very easy, took less than an hour. Most of installation time was spent on getting tools to fit in a tight area in order to tighten the bolts. Installation directions were very good, with diagrams to help.
Hitch will hold a bike rack, which went on very easily.
Look forward to ordering wiring for my light trailer.

Great Packaging, All was nuts & bolts 1st. grader stuff BUT one 5/8" bolt needed a little muscle it didn't line-up ; I think my Jeep Patriot was built crooked . On the Lights #56019 If you use that Aluminum Nut on the plastic canister on the steel stud, IT MAY NOT GROUND!The canister needs to be pulled down off the stud, put the ground wire loop up next to the chassis, replace the plastic canister and wrench the alum. nut tight..Or just drill a hole and use the screw they provided for a GOOD ground totally MOST IMPORTANT....
Received Hitch and accessories in 3 days, excellent service. Installed it the next day. Item fit a Jeep Patriot 2012 like a glove with no drilling.
Installation was about 2 hours with clean up. Jeep Patriot has a plastic bumper cover that curls under the back and is really in the way of getting your hands where you need them. Other problem is due to a plastic box on the drivers side next to the muffler (pollution control??) Torquing down the nuts to 100ft lb was time con- summing, as very little swing room is there. The cut out required for the tongue was a snap with an air tool cutter I have.
Otherwise an A+ product that fits perfect.

Very well built, clean welds and I'm sure will serve many years of towing. Only suggestion, is on my car (2016 Jeep Patriot) lowering the exhaust via the rubber hangers was suggested. That is virtually impossible so I pulled all the plastic push riverts out of the bumper cover and had my son just pull on the bumper cover, providing ample room for install.
I wish all transactions were this easyI ordered a hitch and wiring kit for my Jeep Patriot and it arrived in just a few days. As stated on the web site the hitch was extremely easy to install and only took 20 minutes. The wiring harness went on in a flash too. I will definitely purchase from Etrailer again!
Hitch was fairly easy to install in my son's 2011 Jeep Patriot. Had to pull on the exhaust fairly hard and manhandle the hitch into place. Only took 45 minutes. I used an oscillating saw to cut the rear fascia instead of the rotorzip.
