This fully welded, corrosion-resistant vehicle trailer hitch receiver is perfect for your light-duty towing needs. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. Drawbar sold separately.

Specs:
Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Hitch and wiring harness worked exactly as described. Total install time for both about an hour and fifteen minutes.
Fits great and easy to install. Only problem was the bolt head did not fit through frame as directed. Might have to shave a little off the frame hole to fit bolt through or CAREFULLY put bolt through backwords, then feed through as directed.
Easy instructions, good video for review, simple installation and good quality.
This was a brand new model so I wasn't sure when ordering if it was gonna fit. Fits perfectly. Easy installation. No issues at all!!!
Awesome hitch! Went in without any hassles and took about 40 minutes. great instructions and it looks great on my new Ford Focus. THe only comment i have is I didn't cut away the heat shield and the installation went fine without having to do that.
It was easy to install and didn't require drilling into my car. Other hitches required drilling two holes to mount. The kit included some very useful tools for installing as well. Thanks
Installed on my son's new 2012 Focus Hatchback. The bolts that install with the fish wire were tough. We ended up loosening the hitch bolts that install with the exhaust hanger to lower the hitch a little - then they slipped into the access hole and lined up.
Looks good after that!
Easy to install with just a couple of tools. Only thing that would be a little better if possible is if the hitch receiver did not stick out so far. My bike rack clears the bumper by at least 8 to 10 inchs. Other applicastions may need it to come out as far as it does. The reciver comes out same distance as back bumper.
Driver side access hole on hitch did line up with auto hole. Left hitch down about 1/4 inch to install fished bolt. Then tightened all bolts.
Passenger side access hole in auto to small for bolt head. Ground down bolt head slightly and went in.
Don't know why the instructions say to trim heat shield. Didn't want to cut on my new wheels. Installed with out cutting shield fine.
Tip on fish wire, have used them many times. Insert at small hole and pull out large hole then attach hardware.
Over all went together in less then an hour and looks good
Product was great, installation was a little tricky for one part but was due to my inexperience. It was pretty easy once I figured out how to use the fishing wire properly. Unfortunately I missed the video Fish Wire Demonstration on the bottom which would have helped me tremendously. Definitely watch it! Also, bolt head was a tiny bit big for hole so had to bang on it lightly with a hammer to get it thru beginning hole, no big deal though. Again, I've never done anything like this so didn't know how to use the fishing wire properly and instructions didn't say as they just assume you know. Once I figured that part out it was easy.
Hope this info helps someone. Don't be afraid to tackle this on your own - it's not hard.
The hitch installed with no problems on my 2012 Ford Focus. Everything lined up and all of the required parts were included. The customer service from etrailer.com was excellent.
I am extremely happy with this hitch. It came a bit dinged up on the paint (see before photos), but a wire wheel and paint made it look sharp again. It fits my car perfectly, and I towed a small load with it and did well. Very happy.
Installs easily, arrived with all the components, no damage, etc. Attaches securely to my car, have used it with a bike rack to take multiple mountain bikes on trips and have had zero issues.

So happy to hear that, Nate! Where is your favorite place to go for a ride?
Shipping container had a hole where hitch receiver broke through, but no mechanical damage to product. Shipping tape residue on hitch, had to remove with lighter fluid. Some paint imperfections, so I touched up the product with black gloss rustoleum since its being installed under the vehicle.
Installation instructions were outstanding. All installation materials were provided. The product fit my Ford Focus Hatchback perfectly, all the dimensions were correct.
In summary, a great hitch if sloppily packaged. Recommend.

Ed,I was wondering if you could help me very quickly. Did you have to modify the hitch in any way to have it accept the 1upusa rack? I was told on the phone that none of the Focus hitches would work with my Yakima Holdup rack because they are all Class I. I had a Class I hitch on my previous Corolla and had no issues. The only requirement is that there is at least 2 from the hitch pin hole into the receiver toward the front of the car. I looked up the 1upusa rack and they claim the same requirement. So that leads me to believe that my Yakima rack would work as well. Can you confirm that the hitch has at least 2 of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the backstop? Thanks for any help.

Jesse, I measured hitch pin hole into the receiver toward the front of the car and found it to be 4. Hitch pin hole to rear of receiver is 2. Hope that helps.
Exactly as promised.
It went on without a hitch (no pun intended).
Ford Focus ‘15 install.
I put it on alone so below look at the picture of my hack to hold it in place while I set the first couple bolts. I set the whole thing on concrete block and it wants to tip down toward the front of the car, so I just held it in place with a little extension cord that was in reach pulling down on the back of the hitch.
Start to finish it took about an hour maybe an hour and a half but some of that was waiting for the paint to dry on the little bit of the frame that you have to grind down. I thought it would be better to cover the raw metal with some spray paint.
I ordered the thing on Monday and it was here on a Wednesday so I’m pretty pleased with the service, the price and the product. Great company, I will order from them again (in fact I just did)

The hitch is great.
Happy New Years!! Well I just mounted the trailer hitch to my 2015 Ford Focus SE. I installed by myself in 45 min. (I have never installed one before.) o dos watch your visions about 10 times first. I must say it fits perfect!! No cutting just a little filing of the holes the bolts go through. I have attached a few photos. Thank you again for all your help!

It is great!!!! I use it for my bike rack every day. I would definitely buy it again.
Great service, quick delivery! It was very easy to install having never (ever) looked underneath my car before. The only trick was wiggling the bolts through the hole with the pull wire, and having to borrow a torque wrench. I'm so excited by how good it looks. Vacation with bikes here I come!

Year has past, and my car and I have traveled from the east coast to the west coast with a bike sitting on this hitch. 100 satisfied.
Overall the product seems great and well made/good quality. It arrived well packaged and in good condition, no issues.
My use is very simple - a bike rack. So for that I'm sure this will be fine. I did find that getting my bike rack to fit was very tight - as in hammer tight. I suspect this is because of the paint making it a tight fit and probably the Harbor Freight rack is possibly a little off shape. With multiple fits/removals it has eased up. Still tight to install but removes fairly easily.
The installation was pretty straight forward and the written instructions were good and the videos are even better. I watched the video in advance and referred back to it during the install. I did things in the order the video showed which seemed to be slightly different than the written ones. Specifically I used the fish wires to get the bolts in place before getting the hitch up in position. This seemed to be easier for feeding the bolt and retainer up into the frame rail. This also allowed the hitch to be held up in place just on the frame rail bolts making things a bit easier to put the exhaust hangers back in place.
Seems to have worked well and I am pleased with the results. Will come back to etrailer.com for any future needs.
This is my third hitch purchase from Etrailer, and they always have the best price. I do not like driving a pickup so I use a small 4x8 utility trailer behind my cars when I need to haul something big. I prefer a hitch that is as close to hidden as possible, and this one comes close - don't think they could have done much better given the muffler in the way. I also prefer a hitch that bolts only to the frame rails, and this one did just that. Took under an hour for the hitch install and another hour plus for the wiring install. Plenty of room to work under my 2015 focus hatchback for install of this hitch. Everything bolted up as designed, and there were no surprises. I did not cut the heat shield for the hitch install because I didn't want to leave it hanging - I will check the bolts a few times a year to make sure they don't back out. I found installing the carriage bolts first to be easiest, then installing the 4 other bolts. Torqued everything to specs and it looks great. I included several pics to show how much of the hitch shows and how far it sticks out from different angles (my primary concern before purchase). Always great communication from Etrailer and great instructional videos. A+ service and support!
The trailer hitch was delivered pretty fast and packed well! The hitch itself was built well but made in Mexico the only reason for the 4 stars.

Yes they are working fine. Thanks for the check in.
I ordered this 1.25" trailer hitch for my 2013 Ford Focus hatchback. I purchased it along with the Swagman XC-2 bike platform, since it was around the holidays I opted for the free shipping since it was over $100 total and I wasn't in a big hurry to get it installed. Well, I guess www.etailer.com treats their orders much like [site] does. I got the box that contained both the hitch and the bike platform in two days. I was amazed since I hand't paid for any upgrade on the shipping. Nice job guys!
Getting into the box, both the hitch and the bike rack were appropriately padded and stapled into place so there was no chance of movement. Both items in new condition coming out of the box.
I was surprised to see just one page of documentation for the trailer hitch in the box. It was a general document about hitch installation safety. No biggy, I get it, these guys are called "etrailer.com", point taken. All the supporting documentation and instructional videos are online. Right in my wheel house. I watched the installation video twice before venturing to the garage.
Once I got further into the install I then went deeper into their online help and found both diagrams and another general "how to" video on "Using Fish Wire as Bolt Leaders" since I've never worked with one of these before on a car frame. BTW, with all of the videos I've looked at on their site they have a transcript of the video as well, nice touch dudes. Handy if you do want to print them out.
The installation went as planned. They'd estimated 40 minutes in their instructions. I gave myself 90 minutes but I finished in just under an hour. I did have trouble with getting the spacer and bolt into place using the fish wire on both sides, thus the peak back online at more help files.
I've been thoroughly impressed with multiple aspects of my interaction with www.etrailer.com:
1) Selecting product by vehicle make, model, year, trim
2) Pricing
3) Order processing very quickly
4) Great website instructional videos and documentation
I've already placed an order for some other goodies from these folks. I have been recommending them to friends who are looking for hitch options as well. From my experience I can highly recommend this site for the reasons stated above.
Thanks,
Randy
I finally finished my winter project on my Goldwing and completed the hitch install on our Ford Focus. This week I was able to load the Wing onto my new ACE trailer and take it for a small initial run to verify how it holds the bike and road. You'll be glad to hear that it works great. I'm quite happy with my decision to purchase the folding trailer. When I parked at a shopping center during the test run, a guy came over and wanted to know where I got that cool trailer. I gave him your web site and high praise. He said he's been looking for a small trailer to pull his bike. So, I included a photo of my Wing on the trailer connected to the car ready for the test run.
Excellent fit where it attached to the car. I had a shop modify the regular Focus Hatchback hitch for my Focus ST. Customer service and communication from eTrailer is the BEST I have ever seen. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

I saw your review and pic for the hidden hitch on the focus St, and was wondering if you could send me some more pics of the under carriage mounting around the exhaust. Also if you could do a quick brief of the installation process and any problems or modifications necessary for the installation I sure would appreciate it.Thanks a bunch for your help,Ryan
Product shipped quickly. The installation directions included a step to trim away the heat shield on both sides of the vehicle where the trailer hitch receiver mounted to the bottom of the frame. I did not perform this step in case for some odd reason I ever decided to remove the trailer hitch receiver from the vehicle. Of course, I will be sure to tighten the fasteners again a few times after using the hitch.
5 stars for Etrailer.com - easy to find and use website, received call when part wasn’t available and George J provided excellent replacement. Install videos available online for hitch and wiring harness made install a breeze. Highly recommend Etrailer.
