Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I recently ordered a Class 1 receiver hidden trailer hitch for my 2008 Hyundai and was very pleased with the service I received. After watching the installation videos I saw how easy it was to do myself. When I sent emails to inquire about the correct light hook up for the trailer there was no delay in their response. I was contacted by phone by representative Jesse M. and he helped me pick the right Tekonsha T-One wiring harness. I got everything I need in less than 3 days to install my trailer hitch. Thanks etrailer

Great Price. Was easy to install. Looks great

Nice heavy quality, good fit, boxed well, tester is nice.

by:
2010 Hyundai Elantra

The fit was perfect on my 2010 Elantra, requiring only one bumper tab to be trimmed. It is a snug fit, but bolts right on in about 20 minutes.

by:

Products came quickly and installed much as decribed. Took a little muscle ;) but fit in nicely. Highly recommend and tutorials were a selling point for me.

by:
2008 Hyundai Elantra

The hitch was easy to install and did not take much time.
Great service and product

2009 Mazda 3

Very easy install, (much easier then my Mazda 3 was). Only took about 15 minutes. Hitch is hardly noticeable! Highly recommended!

by:

Simple installation. Timely delivery. The salesman I spoke with was incredibly helpful and very pleasant. Made moving a pleasure.

by:

Arrived quickly and in great condition. Very easy installation, just as indicated in 30 minutes.

by:

Great hitch quality; best bargain for the money; free shipping; and it arrived in only a few days!
Make sure you follow the directions exactly to make it fit. If not experienced, have a helper to pull fascia plastic bumper away and lift opposite end while installing. Might be easier under a lift instead of working from garage floor on your back. The advertised 30 minute install and "3 out of 10" difficulty rating is for a pro.

by:

Serves the purpose. I did not try to install it on my own. Did in the service center for $45. Works well.

by:
2009 Kia Rio

Wow, what a great experience! From the online video instructions, to the customer service. I will definitely use e-trailer for anything I need that they carry. I installed the hitch on a 2009 Rio 5 in the dark with a flashlight and it still only took 45 min thanks to the video. I did not like the idea of not securing the center of the bumper fascia so after I cut the tab, i drilled a new hole. Voila, looks factory! Now to remove the interior and spray it with lizard skin. :)

by:

Installation was slightly more difficult than described, specifically getting the hitch behind the back plastic bumper. Also, it was imperative to clean the bolt holes of dirt, grime, and small particles. In general, it was a one-hour project with no other major installation or use issues.

by:
2007 Hyundai Elantra

I was delighted with the Trailer Hitch and the services provided by etrailer.com in many ways. The unit is well built, sturdy, and fit my 2007 Hyundai Elanta perfectly. It is such a pleasure to have something fit so well. A key advantage was the video of an installation, which really made it simple to do, even without the car on a lift. I highly recommend etrailer.com

by:
2007 Hyundai Elantra

This item was a little more difficult to install than anticipated. It was difficult to get it into place and get the hitch lined up with the holes on the frame rail. Eventually we got it into place and bolted on. This item is really nice because it comes with the draw bar. I recommend the item, but caution the buyer that installation may be more difficult than the video.

by:
2007 Hyundai Elantra

Nice fitInstallation was just as described. Very easy! Nice look. All you can see is the receiver, the rest is hidden. 2007 Elantra.

by:

Got it delivered in 3 days. Took about 20 Min. to install. Seems like a great product. Hardest part of install was getting the bumper tab plastic screws out. They have a plastic screw and the head strips before they come out. I pulled them out and replaced them. Watch the install video and its a breeze.

by:

Fair Prices Immediate Shipping Terrific Communication during order selection, shipping and after
Parts packed securely
Thorough and plentiful video assistance
Parts fit precisely
Overall - EXCELLENT in all respects.
THANK YOU!

Hyundai Elantra

The hitch easy to mountFairly easy to mount the hitch on the Elantra, took me about an hour. The electrics were super simple to install.Well pleased with the product.

by:

I was a little skeptical about how "easy" this would be to install (difficulty 3 on a scale of 10), but was pleasantly surprised. It literally took me about 1/2 hour to install it. Everything fit as claimed. I watched the video first and had a very good understanding of what I needed to do. This usually doesn't happen, I find that normally these "easy to do" projects require much more work and time than claimed. Thanks guys.

by:
2009 Hyundai Accent

Easy to install on my 2009 Accent 3 door hatchback. The hitch hangs lower then I expected, it could have been and inch or so higher. If I had known this I would have gone with another brand that was drawn up closer to the bumper.

by:
Hyundai Elantra

Instructions good. Perfect fit - says something about both the product and the car. I turned spacers to fill out the drawbar mount holes for less slop because the Elantra frame uses the smaller bolts in the package. The bolts still went in by hand. Took about an hour including coffee and clean up.

  • Difference Between Hidden Hitch # 60872 and Draw-Tite # 24795 for 2008 Hyundai Elantra
When it comes to the difference between the Hidden Hitch, # 60872 (no longer available), and the Draw-Tite, # 24795, trailer hitches for a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, part # 60872 includes a ball mount, hitch pin, and clip. If you do not plan to do any towing with your Elantra, these extra components would be unnecessary. Other than that, the hitches are nearly identical since the two manufacturers are sister companies. If you are still in the market for a hitch mounted bike rack, one of my...

  • Difference Between The Curt C11092 And The Draw-Tite Sportframe 24795 Trailer Hitch
The difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11092 and the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24795 is that # 24795 has a hidden cross-tube design and will actually sit above the exhaust which is why there isn't an L bracket like the Curt # C11092. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11092 will sit below the exhaust which is why the L bracket is needed, and has an exposed cross tube. I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe # 24795, because it offers the same weight...

  • Preparing Weld Nuts for Trailer Hitch Installation on a 2007 Hyundai Elantra
Instead of starting with a tap, I recommend instead a good thorough cleaning using a penetrate like WD-40 and a wire brush like # DW00254. You can spray down the holes, let it set for about 10 minutes, and then run the wire brush vigorously in the holes. You may have to do this several times to thoroughly clean the holes. It just takes a little time and some elbow grease, but cleaning the holes will not run the risk of damaging the threads like a tap would. The installation of the Draw-Tite...

  • Does the Bumper Have to be Removed or Replaced to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2010 Hyundai Elantra
To install the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24795, on your 2010 Hyundai Elantra, you will not have to remove or replace the bumper. There is some minor fascia trimming required. A tab on the bottom center of the fascia will need to be trimmed in order for the hitch to fit properly. I have included a link to the installation instructions that include an illustration of where this trimming will occur. I have also included an installation video on a similar vehicle. I do have an option for you for extra storage but the owners manual on your 2010 Hyundai Elantra does not recommend using that vehicle for trailer towing. A lot of people still do it but it is not recommended by the vehicle manufacturer and could lead to damage to the vehicle. Instead I recommend using a cargo carrier on your hitch. There is only one Class I, 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch available for your 2009 Hyundai Elantra, the Draw-Tite hitch # 24795. If your bike rack only fits a 2 inch hitch then you would have to use an adapter, # HTAD, to be able to use that specific rack. The use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. All of the hitches for the Elantra have a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds so when using the adapter the capacity is reduced to 100 pounds....
