Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

This product is awesome. My husband was able to install it in just about 40 minutes as suggested in the video. The stringer tool included made the job MUCH easier.

Great productFantastic shipping time to SC. Two Days. Everything I ordered came in one box in perfect condition. Watched video and read instructions. Did install exactly to the letter of the instructions, and install went perfect. Install time was about 35 minutes. Wiring harness took about maybe 40 minutes. Works perfect, again no problems. Chevrolet HHR

Fast shipping and great communication. Thislooks like a very sturdy and well made product.
I put mine on an HHR SS. There were concerns over interference with the shroud, but this is virtually nill. Anything you can see requires you to lay down and look up. I couldn't install it for a couple months after I got it because of the endless rain. My only complaint so far was the difficulty of installation. What a total PITA. Especially the fish tape that wouldn't come off the bolts for anything after fishing them through the holes. It ended up getting bent to crap each time. The kit really needs a seperate fish tape for each bolt. Eventually I got it installed in about three hours, (long enough for my stereo to kill the battery). The name is right. You can hardly tell it's there.

by:

installed in less than an hour, half the price of any competitor in our area (wi). I did this alone no assistance from wife or kids. Only suggestion that is not listed in the instruction is to remove all the exhaust hangers not just the 3 and ream out both back holes, not just the one. GREAT PRODUCT!

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2009 Chevy Cobalt Coupe
If your 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt is not an SS then you would want a Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11430. I attached installation instructions as well as a link to a video of this hitch being installed on a similar vehicle as yours below. If your Cobalt is an SS then you could use a Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 24756, like you referenced. I attached installation instructions and a video of this hitch being installed on a vehicle that is similar to yours below also. You may also be interested in...

If you go to our website and enter part # RHK, in the search bar, you will be taken to the replacement hardware kit link for trailer hitches. Then you enter your hitch number in the drop down menu, in your case it is 24756, and hit "Add to Cart" to place your order. • Will Kuat Bike Rack B202-114 Fit on a 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS Coupe
The clearance for bike rack # B202-114 is going to be 7-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar on the bike rack. To determine if this rack would have enough clearance to fit on your 2007 Chevy Cobalt, I recommend measuring from your hitch pin hole to a point past your bumper and any other items that might interfere with the bike rack installation. If this measurement is less than 7-1/2 inches, the Kuat bike rack would work well for your application. If...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2011 Chevy HHR
Curt and Draw Tite are not the same company. Curt is it's own company whereas Draw Tite is made by Cequent which also makes Reese, Hidden Hitch, and Pro Series hitches. They are all great brands that I would feel comfortable recommending for your 2001 Chevy HHR, but for your vehicle I would go with the Draw Tite part # 24756 since it has the most positive reviews over all of the other hitches available. Plus, if you were to use a non-supported hitch accessory like a bike rack you wouldn't...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2008 Chevy Cobalt LT 2 Door
Your 2011 Chevy HHR has two trailer hitch receivers available which fit all trim levels of the HHR: the Draw-Tite # 24756 and the Curt # C11447. Neither of these two hitch receivers are confirmed to fit your 2008 Chevy Cobalt 2 Door LT. The correct receiver available for your vehicle is the Curt # C11430. I have attached an installation video for you. It is never recommended to use parts that are not designed specifically for your vehicle.

  • Would Thule T2 Bike Rack Clear Rear Bumper of a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS with Draw Tite Hitch Installed
With the Draw Tite Hitch part # 24756 installed on your 2006 Chevy Cobaly SS the Thule T2 Classic part # TH9045 would fit and clear the rear bumper if folded down. It wouldn't have enough clearance to fold up though. Since your vehicle would have 6 inches between the hitch pin hole and the furthest point out on the rear bumper there really isn't going to be a platform bike rack that would fold up.

  • Is there an Adapter to Use Class II Accessories with a Class I Trailer Hitch on a 2008 Chevy HHR
The issue is not exactly the depth of the receiver but the stop that is punched into it, see picture. This stop does not allow the use of Class II accessories as a safety precaution to keep users from overloading a Class I trailer hitch. I can sell you an adapter that will work with the Class I hitch, # HTAD, but it will expand the receiver from a 1-1/4 inch to a 2 inch and you still would not be able to use the Class II accessories. Also, the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight...

I did a little research and found that the draw bar came with your Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch Receiver with Drawbar, part # 60815 (no longer available), is the Sportframe Drawbar 4 inch Rise, part # 3594. Since your hitch is a Class I hitch it is not recommended that you use any drawbar other than the one that the hitch manufacturer recommends otherwise you will void your warranty. The reason they are very particular about using the right rise/drop drawbar is that if you were to get rear-ended...

  • Choosing the Correct Trailer Hitch and Accessories for a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LT1
For the 2008 model year, the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24756 fits the Sport, Sport Sedan, and SS Coupe models of the Chevy Cobalt. If you have a regular sedan or coupe model you would need the Curt hitch # C11430. The underside of each may look similar but the mounting locations and hitch design are different which is why there are different hitches for each. • Is There a Trailer Hitch for 2010 Chevrolet HHR With Heavy Tongue Weight Capacity
The only trailer hitches that fit a 2010 Chevy HHR are Class I hitches with a 1-1/4 inch receiver, 2,000 lb towing capacity and 200 lb tongue weight capacity. The reason is because these vehicles simply don't have the capacity for that much extra weight, and aren't designed with that purpose in mind. Five hundred pounds is a very large amount of tongue weight, and the only vehicles that have hitches with that much capacity are large trucks or SUVs. The only option to transport a mobility...

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2009 Chevy HHR SS to Use with Kuat Transfer Bike Rack
I checked with Curt and trailer hitch # C11447 will fit your 2009 Chevy HHR SS model! You mentioned that you want to use the hitch for a bike rack. If you choose the Curt hitch then Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements. If you don't want to have to use the strap then I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch, # 24756, because it does not require the use of the...

  • Installation Time for a Hitch on a 2009 Chevrolet HHR
For this particular installation I do not see a difference in the installation so I believe the difference is just in the amount of time the manufacturers stated at the time of engineering. The installation is essentially the same for all of the hitches (see link) offered for the 2009 Chevrolet HHR. I would allow a bit more time, maybe 1-1/2 hours, for the installation if working off of the ground without a lift.

I have included a link to the installation instructions that shows where you would need to to trim. On non-SS models, you should not have to trim and the isntallation should be like the video I have linked. If you plan on doing some towing, the hitch comes with the proper ball mount, pin and clip. • Why Draw Tite Trailer Hitch Over Curt for a 2007 Chevy HHR For Bike Rack
In general we recommend the Draw Tite hitches over the Curt for bike racks since Curt hitches require the use of a stabilizer strap when the hitch is carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack. So for a 2007 Chevy HHR the Draw Tite hitch part # 24756 would be the best option. The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058.
