Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Video Transcript for Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Honda Fit - Draw-Tite

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Honda Fit, we're gonna be installing the draw tight support frame trailer hitch, part number 24826.So with our hitch installed, this is what it's gonna look like. It's a smaller hitch, so it hides well. But it is gonna be below the vehicle, and it is gonna be noticeable. It has a square tube design that's gonna be rigid, and also look nice. It's custom designed for your Honda Fit. It's gonna curve right around your exhaust, and bolt right up without any drilling or welding required. It's a Class 1 hitch with a 1 and 1/4 inch receiving tube.

It uses a half inch hitch pin. It has a reinforced plate on top for extra durability, and a loop style safety chain holder. It has extra large holes here, so it'll work with several types of safety chains of various sizes. It has a black powder coat finish that's gonna look great, and be rust and corrosion resistant. It's gonna have a tongue weight of 200 pounds, and that's the pressure going down at the end of your receiver. And a gross trailer weight of 2,000 pounds, and that's the towing capacity that it can haul behind it.Now in helping you choose accessories for your Class 1 hitch, we're gonna give you some measurements.

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the back edge of the bumper, it's gonna be about 1 and 1/2 inches. Now from the top inside edge of the receiving tube to the ground, it's gonna be about 9 and 3/4 inches. It comes with all the hardware you need to get it installed. Let's show you how to do that now.To begin our installation, we need to make a few preparations on the vehicle. We're gonna start by removing this tab and trimming out some of this panel, so our hitch will sit flushly against the frame.

To remove the tab here, you can use a screwdriver or this is a body panel remover tool. Once you pop the middle out, then the rest of the tab will come out, and now we can trim this out of the way.We can use a pair of tin snips here, and we're just gonna trim along the edge, and now our hitch will be able to sit flush on the frame. If you have any unsightly trimmings, you can just take a razor knife to go in there and clean that up. It's not necessary, but it will make it a lot easier if you lower the exhaust a little bit. So we're gonna go ahead and drop it out of the way.

We're gonna put a support strap in place for when we lower the exhaust, to keep it from . preventing any damage. Now we need to take the hangers off the exhaust here. You can use some silicone lubricant so it can slide off easier, and then just using a pry bar or similar tool, just press your hangers off it. That'll give us a lot more room. Now that we've got our exhaust out of the way and our panel trimmed, we can prepare to install our hardware. Now our spacers aren't gonna fit, so we're gonna need to add a little key hole right here. So you can just use a file to slot this out. And now we'll repeat this on the other side. Now we need to feed our hardware in. To start, you're gonna take your coiled wire, feed it into the hole that you just keyed. We're gonna go back to the large hole here. It can help to use your finger, like a pinky, to catch the coiled end and help bring it back down.To feed our hardware in, we're gonna use the coiled wire provided, we're gonna start at the smaller hole towards the front of the vehicle, feed the coiled end in, and feed it down through the hole. I like to bend the end here a little bit, just to keep the wire from falling back through the hole on us. Now we'll take our spacer, feed it over the coiled end, slide it up into place, take our carriage bolt, thread it onto the coil then, and pull that back through. Now we're gonna put our hardware in for our keyed hole. You'll take the coiled end, put your spacer over it, thread your bolt into the coiled end, push the bolt up, and feed your spacer up in, and then pull it back down. Now we'll repeat this same step on our passenger side. Now that we've got all our hardware in place, this is a good time to put your exhaust back up 'cause it'll get in the way when putting your hitch up.Now with an extra pair of hands, we're gonna help lift our hitch into place. You just start by feeding the wire through your hardware, through your holes in your hitch. Once you've got it fed through, you'll need to install the passenger side first, by lifting it around the exhaust. Once you've got that side lifted up, then your passenger side should lift right into place. Once you've lifted up into place, you wanna go ahead and get a bolt started, so that way it'll hold it up there. You'll start with a conical tooth washer with the teeth facing up, followed by a nut. Once you've got one in place on both sides, the hitch should hold itself better. With it now supported, go ahead and pull your wire off and reinstall the rest of your hardware. With all the hardware in place, we can go back and tighten it all up. Now we're gonna go back and torque all of our hardware for the specifications in our instructions. You'll use an 11/16 inch socket to tighten them down. And that completes our installation of the draw tight support frame trailer hitch, on our 2012 Honda Fit.

Great Product. I spent much longer than the estimated time but stopped to take lots of photos. A couple notes on install... -- Taking off the passenger side wheel give you some space to work and makes your life 100x easier. Also made it possible to do the job without dropping the muffler and I was super glad. Mechanics probably have a trick to get those rubber hangers off in 2 seconds but I fought with it for 20 minutes before giving up. -- The spacers are only 0.04in larger than the hole in the frame so you don't need to take away much metal at all when you make the keyway. You'll need a small (less than 1" wide) file with a fine tooth. The frame material is only maybe 14-18ga steel. -- The fish wires are coiled pretty tight in the packaging. Straighten them out a bit before starting to make it easier to get through the frame -- If you're doing the job yourself and you've got an extra jack stand, use it to prop up the hitch so you don't have to support it's full weight while you're starting the first bolts. -- The plastic wheel well guard is easy to trim down using a sturdy utility knife with a new blade -- Didn't need to trim the exhaust heat shield. -- There's some left-right adjustment room in the mounting holes so check that the hitch receiver is centered before tightening everything down. (last pic taken before I did this.) Haven't attached the bike rack yet or tried it out but expect no problems. Install is tight and no rattles from exhaust or trim. Very Happy! 541748

First, I can only comment on the install. I have not used the hitch, yet, but I will shortly. The install could be made much easier with the use of 2 people and some small hands. Access to the bolt, which sits above the muffler, proves mighty difficult. It's certainly not made any easier when you do it yourself. Otherwise the install went fairly smoothly. The unit fit nice and snug, without any manual manipulation. A deep socket 11/16ths is a very good socket to have around. My standard socket set was not deep enough to completely seat the bolts on the washers. Overall install was not difficult. Cumbersome but not difficult. All of the supplied bolts, washers, spacers and pull wires worked perfectly. I can't wait to throw my bike rack on this. 189776

I ordered the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver for my Honda Fit and it FIT perfectly! Installation was as easy as the video and the 1.25">2.00" adapter I ordered at the same time fit the receiver so perfectly that there is ZERO rattle. It was as if it was machined to perfect tolerance. In Summary: 1) Cost was probably half that of a professional installation 2) Shipment was < 1 week 3) Shipping & Handling: $0.00 4) Time was less than 20 minutes. 5) Tools were minimal, 1 socket, 1 pry bar for exhaust hangers 6) Anesthetics: Looks factory installed. Just like example photos 7) Suggestions for Improvement: Absolutely none! 86916

Happy with the product, though because I am an amateur mechanic I failed to do the obvious: check that all the nuts and bolts fit before the installation! One nut was the wrong size disabling my car until I found a ride to the hardware store for the correct size replacement nut. 162234

Comments

Very happy with the hitch, works very well with the bike rack I bought, all is forgiven for the wrong sized nut!

Mine is a 2010 fit with the sport package and this fit perfectly. I highly recommend watching the video to master the techniques for using the screw-on wires to pull the bolts through the frame (this technique is a time saver!). Keep these wires attached until you are ready to put on each nut because it's easy to bump them back into the frame. Also, I did not detach and lower the muffler as shown in the video but you can work around the muffler if you have a bit of dexterity. I worked at a slow pace and the installation time was 2 hours (although 40 minutes is clearly possible). 17245

I think this will work well on my 2010 honda fit. Install took 1:45 by myself and without use of a jack (didn't seem worth the added hassle). Thanks for the video. 3 gripes: 1: Drilling or chiseling the frame should be unnecessary if etrailer would just make the rectangular "washers" slightly thinner. This would greatly reduce install time & tools. 2: The receiver tube is BARELY (within 1/8") long deep enough for my saris bike rack. I had to remove the plastic clip on the end of the saris rack in order to get the pin hole to line up. This meant that i could not use my threaded/lockable saris pin. 3: Install was difficult, since my muffler barely dropped when i removed the hanger, so i needed long-reach tools to get past the muffler. Also, a class 1 hitch has relatively few uses, but i guess i shouldn't expect to be able to tow a boat with my honda fit. 236206

I will always use etrailer.com for any hitch purchases! The installation instructions that came with the hitch were sub-par (I believe they are from the manufacturer) HOWEVER, etrailer has created a tutorial video for almost every hitch they sell and these videos couldn't make it any easier! Installation took about an hour with two people. The video covered the entire process thoroughly. The hitch looks great on my girlfriends 2012 Honda Fit Sport and the bike rack was a much needed accessory! 76321

Its been a year, the hitch is still working flawlessly. My review of the hitch and installation are above. This followup review is of etrailer in general. I dont think Ive ever had a better online purchasing experience. Best customer service, great product, good prices, and the most useful custom installation videos! You guys are killing it. Ill be back when I need to purchase a hitch for my next vehicle!

2009 Honda Fit

Thanks to the excellent video tutorial, I was able to install this quickly and easily. A couple of suggestions for others who plan on installing this yourself: * Cut up the cardboard box and lay it flat on the ground behind and extending under your car. Put the hitch on it and you can slide it under the car and back out much more easily, as well as sliding yourself under the car more easily. * Once you cut the small notches in your frame, spray each with a bit of rustoleum and give it a few minutes to dry before installing the hitch. * On my 2009 Honda Fit, I did not have to move the muffler much at all. This is because I picked up the part of the hitch which bolts above the muffler and slid it into the bumper inside the hole for the muffler, right over the muffler pipe. It wraps nicely around the muffler pipe and will slide through the bumper and into place quite easily. * If you are doing this alone, get the car jack out and start on the muffler side. After you've placed all the bolts and washers, slide the muffler side of the hitch through the muffler hole in the bumper and into place, leaving the other end sitting on your cardboard on the ground. Put the car jack under the muffler end of the hitch and extend it until the hitch is touching the frame, with the bolts sticking through the hitch holes. Put on the washers and nuts and get them started, but don't tighten them all the way. Now move the car jack to the other end of the hitch and use it to hold that end of the hitch in place while you get the washers and nuts started. Once all four nuts are started and attaching the hitch to the car frame, now you can tighten them all. * Use a foot-long extension on your torque wrench when you're finishing off the nuts so you don't have to reach around the muffler. PRESTO! I can carry my bikes! 151680

Product went on great. I backed my car up onto my ramps, rolled under on my creeper, and went to work. Enlarging the holes to slip the mounting plates was easy with a hammer and chisel, and I was able to hold the hitch in place with my knee while I bolted it on. The powder coat on the hitch I bought is flaking from the factory in TWO places. That's ridiculous. I expected better quality. I need to use the hitch tomorrow though, so no time to send it back. If I lived in the North, I'd ask for a return, but the flaking won't do any harm here in the South, since our cars don't get rusty from road salt. 107367

Comments

Powder coat hasnt degraded elsewhere over a year, and the hitch still works great. Ive towed utility trailers, a small camper trailer, and a wood chipper. All went without any trouble. The hitch is stout and was up to the task.

Thanks for the follow up and feedback about your Draw-Tite hitch. If you need to do some minor touch ups we recommend a good high quality spray paint to prevent any further rust or damage.

Hitch bolted right up, 2014 Honda Fit. 30 minute install. Rather than following installation instructions and enlarging holes in frame rails. I installed bolts from top, through 2 factory holes already in trunk floor. The 2 access holes just needed enlarged a little bit. But this avoided me working under car. The supplied wires to fish bolts through frame worked fantastic. The funky hitch design allows for plenty clearance around the muffler for an easy install. I gave it four stars because it flexes a little more than I care to see, but so far its working great. Overall I am pleased with its performance. 30 minute install. including, locating alternate frame access holes under carpet. 171918

2010 Honda Fit here. Took me about 2 hours to install, I have only basic tools and no garage to work in. The part fit perfectly, installation was straightforward. Would have been a little easier if I'd had a second pair of hands to help when hanging it up after putting the bolts in, but I managed alone. Looks great, should be all set for the move! 121684

Comments

Served admirably for the move! I havent used it since, but its still on the car. The mouth area got a little rusty salted roads... but I cleaned it up with a brush and WD-40. Seems fine since.

Because I did not have anyone to install this on my car, I took it into my autobody/mechanic place. I told him about your online video on how to install it. He viewed it, installed it, no problem, and was really, really, impressed by your company and product. When I picked up my car an hour later, he said that he had never heard of E-Trailer but after reading several reviews and checking out your very helpful video, he said that he was very impressed and he had no problem on the install. I was afraid that it might be super expensive, but I was only charged for an hour's work at $56.00! Wonderful experience all around, and for my mechanic to like you, well, that's saying something! Thank you also for the E-mail feedback. I just didn't buy a product from an "unknown, mysterious, online company never to be heard from again after I paid for my hitch". On the contrary, Patrick was very nice in following up with me to answer any questions or concerns. Thanks to Dream Maker Products in Florida for leading me to you! I will certainly order from you again and tell anyone who asks about your great company. I am sure, too, that my mechanic will spread the word as well. Thank you!! Kristina 86827

excellent product, very pleased, fits tight up under the car, I was able to install in just 45 minutes like you said, would have been faster but after I pulled my muffler out of the way I didn't realise it had to go in before the hitch...at least I just had the bolts set loose. Tips for the 2013 fit, shoot some lubricant on the rubber muffler mounts to make them slide off easier, I used a large pair of channel locks to "tear" the small amount of frame needed to elongate the back bolt holes and make sure the muffler is on top of the hitch when lifting into place to final bolt but leave it loose until hitch bolts are tight. It took an hour and 13 minutes to install the wiring kit, a bit tricky since the car wires are so small, on the fit the right turn wire comes from the drivers side so I didn't have to run the wire across the car. Thanks for a great product at a great price. 138736

Hitch arrived promptly and installation was very straightforward. You will need some sort of rotary tool or ginder to cut a 1/16 in groove into two of the frame holes to get the nut plates to fit into the frame. Believe it or not you can actually install the hitch by yourself and without dropping the exhaust although it does take some flexibility. Overall great product and great price. 2013 Honda Fit Sport 5 door 97123

This may have been the best online purchasing experience that I have ever had. Customer Service was UNREAL and answered questions via email on a Sunday. I had perfect access to shipping and tracking from the get-go. Trailer hitch arrived within four days, and shipping was free. If EVERY online retailer worked as efficiently and as professionally as etrailer.com the world would be a much, much better place. To be honest, I am still sort of in awe at how well this company is run. I haven't even installed the hitch on my wife's car yet (just arrived today) but from here on out it's all my responsibility and the posted reviews surely make it sound like a no-brainer. And the online video has already laid out what needs to be done. Etrailer.com has gone above and beyond all my expecations. What a great experience. Every hitch I buy from now on will come from these guys, zero doubt about that. Great, great people. Thanks etrailer.com! 304080

Ford Edge

This is the first trailer hitch I've owned or installed so I have little to compare it to. My overall impression is that the hitch sits too low to the ground and is less rigid than I feel comfortable with for hauling bikes. It's also rather heavy in part because it loops around the exhaust. It was easy to install and has worked well but I'm considering building my own hitch that is more rigid, puts the receiver higher off the ground and has more ground clearance. Regarding installation, while it's true that no drilling is required, you are still supposed to put a notch in your "frame" rails so that the 1" backing washers fit through the 7/8" hole. I opted to grind the 1" washers on one side to make them about 7/8" wide so they'd fit through the holes without modifying the body. For a custom-designed hitch, I wasn't pleased that they didn't just include washers that fit...the Fit...in the first place. I like to keep my OEM rust proofing intact if at all possible. I painted the edge of the washers where I ground them down so they don't rust either. Regarding the hitch height, with Swift Sport springs that lower the car about 1/2", my receiver is about 8" off the ground and result in my brand new Yakima Highlite 3 bike rack to scrape entering/exiting my driveway apron (which is pretty steep). When I put 2 adult bikes and 1 kid trailer bike on the Highlight 3 (<110 lbs total w/bike rack), the hitch had WAY more bounce/flex than I felt comfortable with, especially when you tilt the rack down to access the trunk. So I added an extra strap attached to my Yakima roof rack to give the bike rack some extra support. I'd prefer not to do that. In summary, if you need an easy to install hitch that will support a bike or two, tow a light trailer and don't mind grinding into your car's frame a bit, this is a decent hitch for a nice price. It's far from perfect for me though. 134686

I installed this hitch on a 2009 Honda Fit. The on-line video made this real simple to do. It was simpler in concept than it was to do in practice, due to working under a car, holding the heavy hitch in place and working in limited space. to make it easier, I backed the car up tire ramps. Then I used a little jack to raise the hitch into position and held it up using some adjustable straps. Once I got the weight off of my arm, it was much simpler. The directions to move the muffler out of the way was really helpful. I sprayed the rubber doughnuts with silicon spray and they popped right off the muffler. The wire bolt holders are absolute genius! That made it so simple to get the bolts positioned in the hole that are in the car frame. The only problem I had was the muffler heat shield gets trapped under the hitch and that was not mentioned in the on-line video. The heat shield is metal and can't be cut away like the plastic panel on the other side of the car. Since I am only towing a little 4 x 4 foot bicycle trailer that only weighs 100 pounds, I just torqued up the bolts and pinned the muffler heat shield under it. I don't think it'll be a problem. On the driver side, I cut away the plastic liner like the instructions said and the hitch fit perfectly against the body frame. Overall it took me about 2 hours to do, not because it is hard to do, but I'm 70 years old and don't work as fast as I used to do. Great product and easy to install. And it works great for towing my little bicycle trailer. 191039

Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Very easy install! One man install using a just 2 passenger-side wheels on the curb to get some room under the Fit, and some seat cushions to not kill my back. Including the 4 wire bolt leaders was pure genius. Seeing the video was great - I used some bike chain oil (couldn't find my WD-40) to ease the muffler hangers off. A long screwdriver and gentle pressure is all you need. An old braided belt was to hold the muffler out of the way, and then hold the hitch in position. Got it on snug - need a deep-well 11/16 socket and torque wrench to finish the job. Pictures show the Swagman 2-bike rack. I like the way the rack goes from the hitch to give some ground clearance on driveways, ramps, etc. Great deal - great price - great service on delivery - easy install thanks to the video - will let you know how the Swagman does after a 1500 mile trip! 33060

Before ordering this hitch, I watched the etrailer.com installation video to see if this was really a DIY project. Looked straight forward so I made the leap. Once the hitch arrived I unpacked it, gathered the recommended tools (all three of them) and watched the video again as a refresher. Then on the driveway in front of all the neighbors, I proceeded to install it with no cussing and no bloody knuckles! Total time including watching the video: 40 mins. Then I tackled the trailer wiring kit. Talk about easy, 20 minutes later car is back together and ready for my Yakima Rock and Roll trailer that should arrive tomorrow. Had some concern that the remote braking system for towing the Fit behind our RV was going to interfere but not a bit. Great service and great products etrailer! 96016

You guys are great! First, shipping was very expedited, the package arrived a lot earlier than promised and the item is simple great quality. Also you took the time to look for an installer for me in my area but ended up doing it myself, I just followed the instructions of the video you sent to me and that was very easy. I can only say now, thank you very much for your service, Im very happy with my new toy!!! 122327

2013 Honda Fit

One 80 yr old and one near that age tried to attach the Draw-Tite hitch to a 2013 Honda Fit. After struggling for an hour and a half we decided to wait until our 50 yr old son could help. With him doing 3/4 of the work it took about 45 minutes to install the hitch. Good service, prompt free shipping and clear instructions. I will use etrailer again when the need arises. 541244

Etrailer has a great website. It describes the product very well. Has many references and videos on install combined with reviews made this a very easy product to get and installation was easy and as described. However the product was poorly made. The powder coating had huge bubbles in several places and had chipped off. I decided to install it instead of returning it. The product will rust over time and the flaws wont be visible from the outside. When I was installing the hitch everything went great until I tried to do final adjustments before torqueing down the bolts. The hitch receiver tube was not sticking out straight. When I crawled under the car and looked. The tube is welded on about 5 degrees off of 90 degrees so I had to install the whole product on as much of an angle to compensate. It still sticks out at an angle. Will it effect use. Probably not, but it is on a new car. Have not contacted Etrailer yet. 110638

A great product, installed the hitch receiver and the T-One Wiring Harness on my 2011 Honda Fit in just under an hour. Would have been much faster, but had to find some of my tools that the grandkids had been playing with. A very easy install after I found out how to remove the inside fender panel. It just snaps on, go figure. 77961

Fast free shipping, was able to install in about an hour with the help of a buddy who had a pair of ramps. Didn't end up needing the rotary tool shown in the installation video to widen the holes on the frame--a metal file worked just fine for that. Very satisfied! 181955

Overall, great! With the particular bike rack I use the hitch for Thule Doubletrack 2-bike and the particular car Ive got it mounted to 2012 Honda Fit Sport, it tends to drag a little bit coming out of some driveways. But I knew that was a possibility with a low-clearance vehicle, and its not the fault of the hitch at all. Ive been very happy with it.

2012 Honda Fit Sport

Installation was on a 2012 Honda Fit Sport. The video produced by etrailer.com was VERY HELPFUL. The instructions leave a bit to the imagination. The video shows exactly where the wheel well plastic trim needs to be cut and the importance of dropping the exhaust before attempting to "keyhole" the right side. A third pair of hands (or a floor jack as I used) is very helpful to raise the hitch while bolting on the hardware. 61561

etrailer shipped me the wrong part at first. Lady on the phone was skeptical and needed proof of the mistake via picture. Once that was sorted they shipped me the right part across the country through UPS ground while my car was waiting on it in the shop, after I asked for them to expedite it. Not terribly impressed. The products themselves seem fine. 515263

Hitch working great. May try pulling small trailer with brakes if I find right one.

Pete L - 05/19/2018

Thanks for the follow up Pete. If you are shopping around for a small trailer, keep in mind that you will want to abide by the lowest rated component of the system. This hitch is rated for upd to 2,000 pounds gross towing weight, but your Fit may not be rated for as much weight. Additionally if you are using a trailer with brakes, you will need to make sure that you either use a surge coupler or get a brake controller and the necessary wiring needed for activation the trailer brakes. I have provided several links to the products you may want to consider and some of our help articles that provide a more compressive explanation of some of our products and installation.

Very quick shipment. I'm sure the product will function fine but it came in with chips in the paint in multiple spots so i'm going to have to touch it up to avoid rusting in spots. There are some scuff marks near a bolt hole, makes me wonder if it's already been installed/returned in the past. 480139

This product fit my Honda Fit perfectly. This is my third hitch receiver bought from etrailer, and this is the 3rd time i've been extremely satisfied with the entire experience. The fit has always been perfect. The install videos are extremely useful. The estimated times to install are weirdly accurate. The prices can't be beat. The shipping is incredibly fast. I recommend people use your company all the time, and I am extremely greatful for your continued amazing service. 464148

Product appears to be well made and fits like it should. One bolt position is partially blocked by the muffler and is kind of hard to put the washer and nut on. 2012 Honda Fit

The hitch arrived this afternoon for my Honda Fit and inside of an hour and 10 minutes later, this 70ish male was washing his hands. This has to be one of the best designed bolt on hitches that I have ever installed, and I've installed a few in my time. The only recommendation I would have is, if you are going to install it by yourself, have a few pieces of scrap wood handy to help support one end of the hitch while you attach the other end to the body of the vehicle. Other than that, this hitch install is a no-brainer. The Honda Fit is not much of a tow car, and the hitch won't be used for that, but to support a bicycle carrier, a wheel chair carrier for my bride, and a support for my kayak, this hitch will fit my needs very well. Thanks, Etrailer, you sell a great product at an excellent price and your shipping policy is great. Thanks very much for your help. 347714

  • Bike Rack Recommendations for the 2010 Honda Fit Sport
  • The options for carrying bikes on your 2010 Honda Fit are hitch mounted bike carriers and roof mounted bike carriers. There are no trunk mounted bike racks that are recommended for use on the 2010 Honda Fit or Fit Sport 5 door. The roof rack option consists of the Thule Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack, item # TH480, the Thule Load Bars - 50 inches Wide, item # THLB50, and the Thule Roof-Rack Fit Kit for Traverse Foot Packs, item # THKIT1465. • Recommended 2 Bike Rack For 2013 Honda Fit Sport Where Trunk Mounted Racks Won't Fit
  • I reached out to my contact at Thule and they confirmed they do not have any fits for your 2013 Honda Fit Sport Model. They said the reason is the factory spoiler is not strong enough to support the straps. All of our manufacturers exclude the Sport model for this reason. My recommendation is to use the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24826 and then use the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack # TH990XT which is a confirmed fit.

  • How Can Three Bikes Be Carried with 2011 Honda Fit
  • Due to the limited tongue weight capacity of the Class I receiver available for the Honda Fit, only two bikes may be carried on any bike rack installed on it. The problem is not entirely with the weight of the bikes, but with the fact that additional bikes will place the load further rearward from the receiver opening. This places additional leverage on the receiver, which can damage the receiver as well as its attachment points to the vehicle. Have you ever slipped a length of pipe over...

I attached installation instructions for these hitches for you to check out. • Solution for Having to Use a Hitch Stabilizer Strap on a 2012 Honda Fit Sport with Spoiler
  • I looked up pictures of your 2012 Honda Fit Sport and the top spoiler would make attaching the stabilizer strap # 18050 not as easy as on vehicles without the spoiler. The best option would be to install a hitch on your vehicle that does not require the strap like the Draw Tite part # 24826. Only Curt has the stabilizer requirement when using a non-supported load like a bike rack or cargo carrier so ideally the Draw Tite hitch would be your best option. Otherwise you could also run...

  • Great question! These hitches are almost identical, but what separates them is that one (60218, no longer available)comes with the recommended drawbar, pin and clip. Both are well engineered, rated for 2,000 lbs gross towing weight, have limited lifetime warranties and black powder coated finish for great corrosion resistance.

  • Vehicle Warranty Restrictions For Towing A Small Trailer With A 2009 Honda Fit
  • The Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch # 24826 hitch is rated to tow up to 2000 pounds, but this does not necessarily mean your 2009 Honda Fit is capable of towing this much. If it does not list a towing capacity in your owners manual then there is usually a reason why they do not.
