Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

etrailer shipped me the wrong part at first. Lady on the phone was skeptical and needed proof of the mistake via picture. Once that was sorted they shipped me the right part across the country through UPS ground while my car was waiting on it in the shop, after I asked for them to expedite it. Not terribly impressed. The products themselves seem fine. 515263

This product fit my Honda Fit perfectly. This is my third hitch receiver bought from etrailer, and this is the 3rd time i've been extremely satisfied with the entire experience. The fit has always been perfect. The install videos are extremely useful. The estimated times to install are weirdly accurate. The prices can't be beat. The shipping is incredibly fast. I recommend people use your company all the time, and I am extremely greatful for your continued amazing service. 464148

Very satisfied with the end result. However, the process would have gone a lot faster and easier if the unit had not been damaged in shipment. I didn't realize that the driver side tabs had been slightly bent. It wasn't apparent until trying to get the final two bolts to align with the holes on the hitch. It was off just enough that I had to use a pry bar to get the bolts to drop through the holes. Otherwise, the whole installation process was straight forward, and the video and other comments helped a lot. Always a pleasure doing business with the fine folks at etrailer.com. 591792

Hitch was relatively easy to install, took around 2 hours. The instructions do not mention it, but it was much easier to install after taking the passenger side rear wheel off. I also purchased a 1.25"-2" adapter and it was very tight in the hitch, I had to use a mallet to get it in. Over time it loosened up, and now it can slide in and out without issue. I'm not sure if the hitch was slightly small, or the adapter too large. 727195

The hitch feels sturdy and the installation wasn't too bad (no drilling needed, just some filing and cutting of the wheel well). It arrived quickly and the process to install was well documented too. My one gripe would be that there are some bare patches on the hitch. I'll probably sand and spray those, but I'd rather not have to in the first place. 704936

Happy with the product, though because I am an amateur mechanic I failed to do the obvious: check that all the nuts and bolts fit before the installation! One nut was the wrong size disabling my car until I found a ride to the hardware store for the correct size replacement nut. 162234

Very happy with the hitch, works very well with the bike rack I bought, all is forgiven for the wrong sized nut!

High quality hitch. I made it more difficult to install by filing the front hole, not just the back hole. When it says to "file a notch" (in the hole to get the washer through), it means just the rear hole, and just a tiny notch. This should take about 1 minute. Then USE THE FEEDER WIRE to get the washer and bolt through the FRONT hole. I filed the back, then front hole, on one side, before I figured out that I could just use the feeder wire, and not need to file the front hole (which was a lot of work). 662985

I got this hitch receiver, for my 2010 Honda Fit, back in 2013. It was pretty easy to install and worked great for my 2-bike, bike rack. My car was involved in an accident. No people or bikes were harmed, but the car had to be replaced and I needed a new receiver for my 2012 Honda Fit. Angie K. was a pleasure to and so helpful! She found my first order and let me know that I would need to order the same one. The shipping was free and fast! 711196

You guys are great! First, shipping was very expedited, the package arrived a lot earlier than promised and the item is simple great quality. Also you took the time to look for an installer for me in my area but ended up doing it myself, I just followed the instructions of the video you sent to me and that was very easy. I can only say now, thank you very much for your service, Im very happy with my new toy!!! 122327

Fast free shipping, was able to install in about an hour with the help of a buddy who had a pair of ramps. Didn't end up needing the rotary tool shown in the installation video to widen the holes on the frame--a metal file worked just fine for that. Very satisfied! 181955

Overall, great! With the particular bike rack I use the hitch for Thule Doubletrack 2-bike and the particular car Ive got it mounted to 2012 Honda Fit Sport, it tends to drag a little bit coming out of some driveways. But I knew that was a possibility with a low-clearance vehicle, and its not the fault of the hitch at all. Ive been very happy with it.

Very easy install! One man install using a just 2 passenger-side wheels on the curb to get some room under the Fit, and some seat cushions to not kill my back. Including the 4 wire bolt leaders was pure genius. Seeing the video was great - I used some bike chain oil (couldn't find my WD-40) to ease the muffler hangers off. A long screwdriver and gentle pressure is all you need. An old braided belt was to hold the muffler out of the way, and then hold the hitch in position. Got it on snug - need a deep-well 11/16 socket and torque wrench to finish the job. Pictures show the Swagman 2-bike rack. I like the way the rack goes from the hitch to give some ground clearance on driveways, ramps, etc. Great deal - great price - great service on delivery - easy install thanks to the video - will let you know how the Swagman does after a 1500 mile trip! 33060

Etrailer has a great website. It describes the product very well. Has many references and videos on install combined with reviews made this a very easy product to get and installation was easy and as described. However the product was poorly made. The powder coating had huge bubbles in several places and had chipped off. I decided to install it instead of returning it. The product will rust over time and the flaws wont be visible from the outside. When I was installing the hitch everything went great until I tried to do final adjustments before torqueing down the bolts. The hitch receiver tube was not sticking out straight. When I crawled under the car and looked. The tube is welded on about 5 degrees off of 90 degrees so I had to install the whole product on as much of an angle to compensate. It still sticks out at an angle. Will it effect use. Probably not, but it is on a new car. Have not contacted Etrailer yet. 110638

Had to get custom holes drilled into my Honda fit with some washers to get this installed, so consider that in the cost. That being said, so far it's been a great hitch to carry my two mountain bikes around and I have no worries about it's strength. 820806

2009 Honda Fit

I was extremely pleased with the time in which this order was turned around and shipped as I am planning a trip to Florida in the coming weeks and was implementing a new solution for carrying both my road bike and mountain bike. The hitch arrived on time. Also very helpful are the installation video tutorials that are available from both etrailer and on YouTube. Installation of this hitch on the 2009 Honda Fit can be done relatively easily without raising the vehicle off of the deck; a little tight getting to the holes in the frame (especially on the muffler side of the vehicle). Absolutely need to drop the muffler and in retrospect would recommend raising the vehicle and removing the rear muffler-side tire. Preparing the frame holes for installation is the easy part. The hitch can be installed by one person, but it is helpful to have a second set of hands to do the hitch installation. Altogether, very satisfied and happy to save the installation cost of having someone else do the installation. 805931

  • Recommended 2 Bike Rack For 2013 Honda Fit Sport Where Trunk Mounted Racks Wont Fit
I reached out to my contact at Thule and they confirmed they do not have any fits for your 2013 Honda Fit Sport Model. They said the reason is the factory spoiler is not strong enough to support the straps. All of our manufacturers exclude the Sport model for this reason. My recommendation is to use the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24826 and then use the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack # TH990XT which is a confirmed fit.

  • Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack for 2013 Honda Fit
If you're only planning on using the hitch as a mounting point for a bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory, I'd recommend going with the Draw-Tite Class I hitch, part # 24826. The only difference between this hitch and the Hidden Hitch # 60218 (no longer available) is that the Hidden Hitch includes a ballmount that you won't need unless you plan on doing some towing in the future. Either hitch would work great, I just wouldn't want you to pay for something you don't need. You didn't...

  • Can Class II or III Hitch Accessories be Adapted to Fit a Class I Trailer Hitch on a 2010 Honda Fit
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24826, for your 2010 Honda Fit is a Class I hitch. This means that in addition to the 1-1/4 inch receiver, it has a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds. Anything attached to the trailer hitch, in this case a bike rack and bikes, will count against that tongue weight capacity. The use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity by 50 percent, bringing it down to 100 pounds. The weight of the bike rack and bikes would have to be less than 100 pounds...

  • Recommended Hitch for the Honda Fit Sport to Fit 1-1/4 Bike Rack
I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24826 to carry your 1-1/4" bike rack on your 2010 Honda Fit Sport. The Draw-Tite hitches do not require you to purchase a support strap to carry your bike rack like the competing Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11064 does. Draw-tite is the number one choice of our customers when it comes to carrying a bike racks. Class I hitches are rated to carry a maximum of 2 bikes. This hitch has a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs, which allows...

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2009 Honda Fit Sport for Carrying a Bike Rack
Since you plan on carrying a bike rack on your 2009 Honda Fit I would recommend you get the Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 24826. If you only plan on carrying a bike rack I would recommend the # 24826. I attached installation instructions for these hitches for you to check out. The Curt hitch, # 11064, is also a good hitch that is available for your vehicle, but it requires the use of a stabilizing strap when used with bike racks so it would not be my first choice. Now, for a bike rack...

  • Trimming Plastic Shield on 2010 Honda Fit To Install Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Hitch
The plastic shield on the drivers side of the Fit will need to be partially disconnected then trimmed to mount the Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 24826. You will want to pull out the plastic push tab that is connected to the vehicle frame and then trim the plastic trim tab to where is sits flush against the frame rail. The hitch will mount directly against the plastic tab, but make sure the hitch sits flat against the frame rail and that the plastic trim is not between the frame rail and the hitch. The...
