Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario. Technical Support

At we're committed to the products we sell, and to our customers. The hitch was a perfect fit and excellent quality. The ordering and shipping went smoothly. Your videos are a big help. I was surprised the fish wire worked as good for me as your video showed. I did the installation myself, it was no trouble with a jack and a well placed piece of wood. This will work perfect for a utility trailer to haul stuff for my many projects and a lot cheaper than buying a pick up truck. I would highly recommend your product.

The hitch is working out great. I hauled 5 loads of hay with it at 2000 pounds per load. I have also hauled a few other loads of various weights and have had no problems.

2008 Subaru Impreza

The DrawTite hitch I purchased for my 08 Impreza was economically priced and easy to install with your clever spring wire threading technique! I am very happy with my purchase! Thank you!

It fit my 2010 Subaru Impreza (sedan)
happy that it fit. Install took about an hour because the rubber pieces that hold the mufflers up was a task all on its own. The instructions that come with the item aren’t the best. Luckily, I found a video [online] with that was very helpful.

Packaging was minimal. The box was destroyed on one side so the ends were completely exposed and they got scuffed up during delivery. I’m not too concerned because well it’ll be living under my car and getting pretty dirty anyway. I got it 2 days past the expected delivery date but overall very satisfied. Thank you etrailer! This is just what I needed to haul around my Italian Ice cart.

The entire installation may have taken a bit over an hour, but not much. Everything fit fine. I removed the mufflers rather than lowering the whole exhaust system, and I expanded the hole in the top of the frame rather than the bottom rail. I think that was much easier. Also, kept the fish wires on the bolts while I raised the hitch into position, so that I was able to keep from pushing the bolts back into the frame.

I bought this for my 2011 wrx so i could haul the dirtbikes around it works wonderful, easy install to. Great quality, and fast shipping highly recommended

2009 Subaru Impreza

Installed on a 2009 Subaru WRX Impreza sedan. Factory dual exhaust with single tip on each side. I backed the car onto ramps and that was plenty of working height for the install. The instructions were easy to follow, and accurate. I'm glad I had a good set of tools to widen the frame holes (air compressor, die grinder with de-burring bit). A little silicone spray helped slip the exhaust hangars back on easily. Whole job with clean up took me about two hours. I only plan on using for a bike rack, so didn't bother with a wiring harness.

Just installed it. Had to drill out an opening in the frame on each side. Once you lower the exhaust you can easily get a drill with a universal bit in there. The hitch lined up perfect with the frame holes, the light kit plugged right in no problem. Very pleased

The service was excellent and the product is beautiful, exactly as presented. The installation videos are tremendously helpful.

Its working out great! It was a perfect fit.

2011 Subaru Forester

The hitch and accessories for my 2011 Subaru Forester were delivered promptly by U.P.S. Instructions were included. It was installed with no issues whatsoever. I will be a returning customer with etrailer. Thanks so much!!!

No issues whatsoever. Good purchase!

2012 Subaru Forester

Everything arrived on time. Product was as advertised and installed just like the video and instructions said. If I ever need any other products for my car I would order them from as I am extremely happy with the resulant hitch and wiring.

2009 Subaru Forester

I was surprised at how quickly your company was able to process my order and deliver the hitch - wonderful service! The hitch installed easily - as per the video demonstration. I am very happy with my purchase. Thank you for providing the written and video instructions - both were so very helpful.

2009 Subaru Forester

Good Value, but not OEMI have used my trailer hitch on my 09 Subaru Forester several times now, and I am fairly happy with it. Installation was a little bit of a pain, but not terribly so. The only concern that I had was the need to use a drill or Dremel tool to open up a couple of holes on the frame rails.

Overall, the hitch seems quite sturdy, and I am satisfied with my purchase, and the price is fair.

shipping was fast. but no hardware came with the hitch to mount it. so now out on a mission to find carriage bolts in my little town. good luck

2008 Subaru Impreza

Was a bit difficult to install but other than that, I highly recommend buying this hitch. Made well....overall, great product!

Subaru Forester

E-trailer's installation videos make this installation easy. It took longer than the 35 minutes the mfg indicates, but it was still very easy to do. I have this installed on a Subaru Forester and it works great. Highly recommend purchasing from e-trailer.

The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The hardware provided fit exactly where the directions said they would. Very solid product. Couldn't be happier with it. Once I was set up the install took me about half an hour. Those bolt alignment tools they provided were a life saver. Genius idea!!

Great product, very fast turn around, will continue to recommend the product and the vendor. etrailer great experience.

Instead of dropping the muffler system, I just disconnected the mufflers and one of the rubber mounts. They just swivelled out of the way. I thought the "fishing" was going to be a problem but I fished them throught the small hole and out the enlarged hole instead of the way the instructions said. Much easier. All in all a easy project.

Product went on ok with directions but I needed to remove more parts off the car that instructions indicated and it took much longer than Instructions had listed.

Ordering and shipping was great, I received the order much much faster than I expected, it was on my door the second day after I ordered it.

Thanks, I will order from you again

This is the third hitch I have bought from E-trailer. Great prices, very fast delivery and excellent instructions. The video installation was very helpful to watch.

Great video some really good tips especially the strap to lower the muffler went in without a problem

Second hitch I bought from you guys, and both are great - easy installs and I saved some bucks too, according to my buddies who opted instead for a commercial installation.

FAST shipping. Clear instructions. A tough install for one person, but very doable. Deep well 3/4" socket required to torque the carraige bolts. Everything fit perfectly. Thanks!

2012 Subaru Impreza

etrailer is great, hitch is great quality. thanks

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2010 Subaru WRX Sedan with Dual Exhaust
We offer three trailer hitches for your 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan and all of them will fit with the dual exhaust as long as they are not WRX STi models. I have attached a link to all of the trailer hitches that will fit your vehicle for you to check out. The trailer hitch that I would recommend is the Draw-Tite Sportframe Class I Trailer Hitch, # 24807, that you referenced. This hitch offers the same tongue weight and towing capacities as the other hitches and is more economically...

The Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 24807, that you have referenced, could require drilling to enlarge an access hole, but you could also use a file or rotary tool and not need to drill. I have included links to the installation instructions and video showing a typical installation.

  • Will the Thule T2 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2009 Subaru Impreza
The Thule T2 Classic, # TH9045, is designed to fit in a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. If your 2009 Subaru Impreza has a hitch then you want to take some measurements to determine fit. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance required to clear the rear of the vehicle. If that distance is less than 18 inches then the rack will fit. If it is also less than 3-1/2 inches then it will fit when folded up. I looked at the instructions for the hitches we carry for...

  • Will this Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24807 Work with my Aftermarket Exhaust On my 2010 Subaru WRX
The aftermarket exhaust tips should not interfere with you being able to install this Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4 inch, part # 24807. What would cause problems would be if the aftermarket exhaust had mufflers that were larger in diameter than the stock mufflers. The # 24807 does require some minor drilling for installation, but with a decent drill and drill bit you should not have a problem installing this hitch. You may need the following...

  • Meaning of Towing and Tongue Weight Capacities on Trailer Hitches for 2008 Subaru Impreza
When looking at a trailer hitch for your 2008 Subaru Impreza, the towing weight capacity refers to the maximum trailer weight that the hitch can safely pull. For a trailer hitch that has a 2,000 pound towing weight capacity, the most a trailer can weigh is 2,000 pounds when hooked up to this hitch. A tongue weight capacity refers to the maximum vertical load that can be placed onto the hitch receiver. This is usually more of a factor when looking at things like bike racks and cargo carriers,...

  • Is 1/2 Inch Gap Between Hitch and Gas Tank a Problem on a 2012 Subaru Forester
No, you will not have to worry about clearance between the gas tank and trailer hitch # 24807 for your 2012 Subaru Forester. The hitch is fixed and the gas tank likely cannot move up or down (or at all really) they would not come into contact with each other. It would take tremendous force to move the hitch up that 1/2 inch or some sort of mounting failure on the gas tank for it to drop down 1/2 inch. If you plan on towing with the hitch then the correct ball mount to use is # 3594. For...
