Specs:
Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Right From the start, I'd like to say I am very pleased with my hitch and the purchasing experience. The site is easy to navigate and has absolutely everything. My hitch, Curt T-connector harness, and accessories were well packaged and arrived promptly. The install was super simple and fast. The actual hitch assembly is well built, fit cleanly, and included well written instructions and high quality hardware. It attached to easy to access mounting points used by the factory skid/bash plate. The harness was plug-n-play and only required the removal of two philips head screwes and popping some trim clips. I did not have to remove the two large interior panels on either side of the hatch. I simply loosened them enough to pass the harness behind and popped the panels immediately back down. I finished plugging the connections through the lightbulb replacement access panels. I am using this hitch with my 2007 Honda Fit sport to tow a small trailer holding tires, tools, and spare parts to track events. I chose this hitch because it was slightly lighter than some others. It added 16lbs Including hardware. That's not light; but, the mass is low and to the rear of an already front heavy vehicle. I also choose not to reinstall the factory bash/skid plate. The hitch hangs just as low as it did and is much stronger. I saw no reason to add another 5lbs back on. This hitch does cover and mount to your factory rear tow-hook that's sometimes used to jack up the rear of the car. However, I do not see this as an issue, again because the hitch is well built and well attached through three chassis points. The safety chain hoops are easy for a tow-truck to attach too and the large mounting footprint makes me trust this hitch for lifting or pulling more than I did the factory location. I received this just yesterday, after getting my shipment in fewer days than expected! BACKGROUND: I just installed it onto my 2007 Honda Fit Sport for the sole purpose of using a hitch bike rack. The small spoiler on the Sport's roof inhibits using a trunk-mount rack with straps and a roof rack for that model for two bikes is just not a cost-effective solution for a 5-year old car. INSTALL: The instructions were extremely simple to follow and I will be testing it out with the new rack soon. I greatly appreciated the sizing of the sockets that one needs to do the job listed on the instructions. It might also be noted that you should have a torque wrench or ratchet to tighten all nuts/bolts to specifications. As one other suggested, I used the box it came in for lifting it to the right height when installing and that worked great once the skid plate was removed. I was able to install the hitch without raising the car off the ground. Be sure to mark "front" on the skid plate visibly. My install took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Read the instructions, lay out your tools, and have a look at the underside of your vehicle first and you'll be great. AESTHETICS: The clearance on the hitch is very good. It does not protrude further down than the skid plate, which is good; it should not drag if you go over a high bump. If you happen to bottom out, it may drag some, but honestly, it's better than your bumper hitting. It does not sick out from the bumper, which means no hitting your leg on it. I ordered a rubber cap to go in the end when the bike rack is not attached, which will keep moisture out as well as helps the look. If anyone notices, they'll simply think that it's a nice custom feature. All in all, it was easy and fun project to do, and I'll soon be able to take my bike without using the precious cargo space in my vehicle. 51907

I've always just thrown my bike into the back of my 2007 Honda Fit, but I recently got a bike trailer for my dog (rookie mistake, it doesn't fold down so it takes up a lot of space) and plan on doing some weekend bike camping trips so there just wasn't enough room for my bike. The solution for me was to finally get a bike rack, which meant getting a hitch. This hitch was fairly easy to install albeit intimidating. I purchased a beam torque wrench at Sears and watched a YouTube video on how to use it. I did what other reviewers suggested and used the box the hitch came in to hold it in place while I bolted it in. Worked Perfectly! Was able to do it without raising the car...however it did make seeing the dial on the torque wrench a little challenging. Using deep socket attachments would probably have made it a little less challenging too. It took less than an hour...and is literally so simple to install. Assembling Ikea furniture is more challenging. 271008

This transaction was seamless from start-to-finish. Online ordering was a snap, just take your time and insure you are getting the right thing for your EXACT model. The order confirmation and shipping notice were emailed right on time with the tracking link, which worked perfectly. Packaging was great, with the box with hand-holes for easy carrying. Contents were 100 percent. Installing the hitch itself was a piece of cake. There was only one problem as the Tool List called for an 11/16ths wrench and it should have been NINE SIXTEENTHS. The only thing I needed was an empty 1-gallon paint can to support the front of the hitch while I got the U-Bolt in place. Once that was done it was a simple matter to finish the job. So all around a very positive thing.. Now if the Wiring Harness that I bought is as easy as the hitch…… Here's a photo of the finished installation under our 2008 Honda Fit Sport. 187578

Installed on my 2007 Fit Sport, its a sturdy hunk of steel! Parts bag was missing one small part, a quick call to etrailer and they had one sent out to me immediately. Although I would have preferred it to not be missing, their customer service is 5 stars if you do have a problem. Will be using it with the recommended cargo carrier and a Rhode Gear highway 4 bike rack (both fit great) TIP: save the box it ships in, place the hitch on top of the box and slide it under the car, then you can tilt the hitch into position one handed. Install is a breeze, I was concerned about the clearance around the Fit Sport trim, but as you can see from the pics it is not a problem. wish I had installed it years ago... 29562

Honda Fit hitch. My order arrived in just a few short days. Installation was fairly easy, took about 30 minutes to bolt on the hitch. I did have to modify the U-bolt to fit more easily into the holes in the hitch. No need to jack the car up, but it would be a good idea to have some sort of block to keep the hitch in place as the u-bolt, and to a lesser degree, the skid plate bolts, are installed. Wiring Kit: Fairly straightforward installation, though the instructions are a little vague, especially since the wire colors described for my 2007 Fit weren't the same for one of the plugs, and another was left out of the instructions altogether. One improvement the wiring kit manufacturer should consider is a narrow disconnect plug to be able to run the wires from the spare tire area through the pan to the outside by drilling a small hole, because the flat plug's size led me to decide to keep all the wires inside the car, and running them through the hatch when I'm towing. 21397

Installed quickly and easily. I didn't even have to jack the car up. A few negitive comments however: Not a clear difference between this and the Draw-Tite, I think it's the inclusion of the ball and reciever. The instructions called for a 11/16 socket, clearly it should have said 9/16 (and could have saved me a trip back to the basement). And the biggest issue of all is the use of black phosphate metric fasteners and a plated U-bolt. At the back of a car in salt country these will rot out faster than the car and be difficult to tighten/remove in about a year. The fasteners are far far less protected than the bolts I took out and I was tempted to reuse them. Probably I'll have to run to the hardware store and replace the bolts. At least the option of an upgraded corrosion resistant fastener package would have been nice. 19058

pics of hitch on my Honda Fit very happy with the hitch. 4718

Hitchfeels very sturdy and strong, and was easy to install. All required parts came with it. A lift would have made installation a breeze, as it was I was on my back under the car, awkward but still only took 40 minutes. The hitch fits perfectly and looks great, tucked away under the car. We attached a Yakima bike rack to it, no problems at all. Delivery was on time as scheduled. There was one tiny error in the instructions, it called for an 11/16 wrench but actually required a 9/16. As I had both, no problem for me, but anyone going out to buy a wrench would not have the correct one. I am very pleased with both the product and etrailer.com. 62135

This product seems very well constructed. It is basically a piece of solid steel welded together with a hard black finish. I have little doubt it can handle weight, although the primary reason I got this was for a hitch mount bike rack. All the required hardware came with the hitch, and it's all high grade hardened steel. I have little doubt this is going to be a simple bolt on installation. If I don't write back by May 8th, just assume the install went painlessly. After all, it's only a few bolts. I am very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it to others with a Honda Fit. Draw Tite seems to be an excellent product. 12965
by: Steve T.10/05/2014
Draw Tite makes a good product which looked to have much cleaner welds than the cheapest hitch offered by etrailer, for only a few dollars more. The 2007 Honda Fit has a sub assembly under the hatch which Draw Tite utilized for the mounting of their hitch, which made it particularly fast and easy to install-it took me less than 30 minutes, and I didn't need to jack the car up to do so. Last week I had occasion to haul a 500# loaded trailer with my new hitch 120 miles, including over a mountain pass. The hitch performed flawlessly. I can recommend the Draw Tite hitch for the 2007 Honda Fit. 154502

Very happy; was easy to install and fit perfectly. Just because I am a total perfectionist: One conical grip washer was missing from the package; no, I didn't loose it. The directions did not explain that the big clunky part was the skid plate, which was already on my car, which I had to take off and then but back on; had me scratching my head for 5 min.s; and the u-bolt didn't align perfectly with the holes in the hitch; I had to figure out a way to bend it just a tad without destroying the threads; got it done. The U bolt is also a bit longer than it needs to be. BUT I am 100% happy. 132409

Fits my 2008 Fit perfectly. I am using this specifically for a bike rack. I didn't want one of the strap on bike racks since they can potentially damage the paint, and are a pain to remove when not in use. I bought this with bike rack #63120 also from this site. Instructions are easy to follow. The only thing I would add is that I backed my car up on ramps, and used 2 jack stands to hold the hitch in place while I bolted it down. The construction of this hitch seems very solid. It is rated for 2000 lb, but keep in mind the maximum load for the Honda Fit is 850 lbs. 2801

We had it really easy and had a lift in our garage to get the Honda Fit up off the ground and above us. The installation with air tools took MAYBE 20 minutes and is extremely easy. Hitch looks nice and hidden and I am very happy with the fit and finish. Would buy again. 84223
Hello Rush, What trailer hitch did you install? Class 1?
-- comment by: Paul - 06/16/2013Yes, he installed the hitch on this page. The Draw-Tite Class I, part 24776, custom built for the 2007-2008 Honda Fit.

This hitch is perfect for my Honda Fit Sport. The installation was crazy easy and I did it in about 15 min. Customer service from eTrailer was awesome and I will highly recommend them. I got this hitch to carry my bike rack since the Honda Fit Sport can't really take one of those ones you strap to the hatch and the roof option was way too expensive, so I went with the hitch. The instructions say 2000 lb towing capacity but I could never see a Honda Fit drag that much weight around. 26417

Solid high quality product that was very easy to install. like another reviewer mentioned -- no need to jack up the Fit & use the box to rest the back of the hitch when initially connecting the front of it. I already have gone a few hundred miles with it being attached to a Saris bike rack w/2 bikes & it's rock solid. Etrailer was extremely helpful & the unit came ahead of schedule in perfect condition. I will be buying all my future trailer needs from Etrailer. 145668

Works great I installed this on my 2008 Honda Fit. No complaints. It works great. I use it for a bike rack and also a small boat trailer (about 1000 lbs). Though the drawbar that etrailer.com recommends (#3593) does not have enough rise for my trailer. So don't just blindly order this drawbar. Instead, follow etrailer's directions for choosing the correct drawbar: http://www.etrailer.com/faq-ballmount.aspx (The Honda Fit hitch height is 11"). 2208

This was really the only way I found to be able to have a bike rack (which I also purchased here) on my 2007 Honda Fit. I wasn't really interested in installing it myself (and the etrailer folks were wonderful in offering to help, but I wasn't near their location), so I took it to the Honda dealer and they were able to install it easily. It's worked great. It's not really noticeable but it's there when I need it. Exactly what I wanted. 441626

The hitch has been working perfectly since installed a year ago. Handles two FJs (sailing dinghies) on their trailer no problem. When removing the bolts on the factory installed skid plate make sure you apply even force. I used a torque wrench and ended up snapping one. Putting the car on a jack and using an impact driver would be best. After that, the install was simple. Directions were easy to follow. 441318

My order was shipped faster then I thought and I had it in about 3 days. It was packed well and my order was complete. The instructions and online videos made the installation easy. I installed it in my driveway with no lift and had no trouble with the hitch only taking about 30 mins and the wire harness another 30 mins. I had no special tools or skills except a torque wrench that I borrowed. 92012

5 Stars for etrailer. They shipped it promptly and it could not have bolted on any easier 20 minutes. One bolt was too long so I bought another one (hardened) so that it could be tightened without running into the frame. There was a burr at the back of the inside of the receiver that prevented my hitch from going all the way in. I had to spend about 20 minutes with a file to fix this. 106699

The hitch receiver arrived within the week we ordered it, expertly packed with the bike rack, all shipped for free. We easily bolted the receiver onto our Honda, but had to file the inside of the 1 1/4" receiver to allow the rack tongue to fit (no problem). The rack assembly was straightforward, and we arranged the bikes and took them for a ride on trails across town. Easy! Thanks! 43672

I purchased the Draw-Tite trailer hitch reveiver (Class I - 1 1/14" - 24776) for use with a bike carrier. The hitch was easy to install and looks and works great. Before beginning the installation, plan on using a sissor jack or other device to help hold the front end of the hitch up while attaching the back end. Once the back end was attached, the installation moved quickly. 47946

I just purchased this from etrailer. Within a few minutes I had a order confirmation and another email from a service rep saying they had it on stock and is getting shipped. It came a day early......need I say more. This was very easy to install and looks pretty solid. I have heard nothing but good things about these hitches and my results have been the same. 8415

I Installed this and an electrical kit in under 30 minutes on a 2008 Honda Fit Sport. with two tools. That is amazing. I needed this quickly I was leaving on a trip in 6 days, and I ordered it on a Sunday and received it on a Wednesday. My wife and I have a small teardrop camper we haul with our car now, and had no problems whatsoever with this product. 396945

I was SUPER pleased with every interaction with etrailer....from my first visit to the site to the installation. The trailer hitch was very easy to install....just took a few minutes. The instructions and everything were helpful and accurate. I am very excited to use it! It is a great hitch for a great price. You will not be disappointed! 47633

E-trailer has excellent customer service! We ordered several pieces to install a trailer hitch on my Honda Fit and accidentally ordered an incompatible piece. Karla from Etrailer called me the following day to notify me of the incompatibility of the parts and suggested the correct one. Hitch is now installed and works perfectly! 285251

So far so good! Installed solely for purpose of using a bike rack. Hauled a road bike immediately after installation with no issues and very convenient. I won't miss taking my front wheel off to put the bike into the car. Installed in under 45 minutes by myself. Could have used another set of hands but I made do. 346935

Everything about this went great. Website easy to use. Order shipped and was received promptly. I installed the hitch this afternoon. It is built like a tank, fit and finish are excellent as well. I got this hitch to install a 1UP bike rack. It fit perfectly solid. Great price too. What more could I ask for! 426548

Fast shipping, good price, easy installation. I needed this so I could use my bike rack with my 2008 Honda Fit Sport. Installation took 30 minutes with 3 bolts and a U-bolt. This company kept me completely informed of the status of my order including notifying me when UPS delivered. I'd buy here again. 9188

Excellent customer service. No problems with ordering or delivery. I had my hitch installed, just because I didn't want to do it myself. From all of the reviews that I read, though, it sounds like installing it yourself takes only 40 minutes. I'll definitely buy again from etrailer! 80692

The trailer hitch I installed with no help .fairly easy install.,remove three bolts discard them install hitch plus skid bump pad that was already there. Use 3 supplied bolts tighten and bam done plus small U shaped bolt that goes thru pulling pont and thru hitch tighten . 344611
by: Ben B06/26/2011
This hitch was easy to install, it says 40 minutes but I completed it in 25. It is heavy to hoist off the ground and put bolts with washers in upside down so I recommend using an extra pair of hands or a pair of jack stands to hold the hitch in place. 17960

Arrived at my door in super speed fashion. Went on very very easily...after I took a second and third look at enclosed instructions. I tried to fit HITCH over skid shield instead of SCID SHIELD over hitch. Laughed to myself once I figured it out. 17754

We've been using this hitch on our Honda Fit for the last year, and it's worked great for holding our road bike rack. We've made several cross country trips with our bikes since we bought it. It was very easy to install with just basic tools. 356084
by: Mac04/14/2011
The installation was very simple. Would have been even easier if I had noticed that in the upper left section the instructions that the sockets needed are listed. Overall the installation was easier than I expected and the hitch works great. 11724

The hitch installed easily with the good instructions. no problems were encountered. Service during the ordering and discussion of the drawbar and ball I was looking for was very good and professional with lots of information. 48407

I have never put a hitch that has been this easy. Took less than 20 minutes and was using it in less than an hour. Should have gotten one along time ago. Very good on shipping and easy installation. Thank You. 20122

The only reason I gave a "good" review is because I haven't actually towed or hitched anything yet. I will say that the installation was a snap and it was as easy as all of the other previous reviewers claimed. 178485

The product is great. I haven't road tested it yet. Looking forward to having more room in my Honda Fit when camping and traveling. I had my mechanic install the unit and he said it went smoothly. 171772
by: David M07/27/2016
Delivered as promised. My only issue was removing one stubborn rusted bolt from the skid shield. Other than that, install was a breeze. Ordered for hitch mount bike rack. So far so good. 276888
A good hitch with no issues after a year. However, note that hitch mounts on small cars will require some adjustment. Weight and size of two standard mountain bikes will reduce already low ground clearance on my Honda Fit. Distance from bike tire to the pavement is less than 9 when loaded depending on what else I need to bring on a short trip.
by: John Gottes01/25/2017
Not going to tow my 10,000lb boat, but it fit well & served its purpose (attaching a bike rack). Been on a yr, and hasn't caused me any problems w/ ground clearance bruised shins. 335331

The service was excellent. The hitch arrived in short order, it was ideal for our application and installation was not difficult. I would not hesitate to order from etrailer again. 35609

Got the Hitch on Friday and installed it on Sunday. Easy! Only took about 30 min. but most of that time was putting the car on jack stands and taking it off again. 5970
