The trailer hitch receiver has worked well for pulling a small, 3' x 5.5' trailer, from Montana to Alaska and back to Vancouver BC. It was fairly easy to install, with the exception that one of the bolt holes in my car frame was rusted and need to be tapped before installation (which I was able to do by hand once I got the correct sized thread tap). When I remove the hitch the receiver does not stick out too far beyond the rear bumper. So far there is no rust on the receiver hitch and I have not had to worry about it at all since installation, highly recommended! At the time I bought it (March 2018) this was the cheapest option I could find.
My only complaint is that I wish it dropped a little lower (1") because I cannot open the trunk of my 2001 Toyota Rav4 when the trailer is attached.
I purchased this class1 hitch for my RAV4 along with a custom wiring harness. I work around metal and welders who are always making stuff out of metal, I must say I was very happy with the quality, it looks strong and well made. My RAV4 is only rated for a trailer with 1500 pounds so I didn't want a bulky hitch, the Class 1 hitch I got is the lowest rating available at 2000 pounds and it's not going to add excess weight to my rig. I love it. To other RAV4 owners I would say, installation is a piece of cake, just 4 bolts. Be very careful removing tow hook bolts so u don't break loose the nuts welded inside the frame, use some penetrating lube and stop if u meet any resistance. Let em soak.
The wiring harness was an easy install as well, it had rav specific instructions, it jousts plugs in line between you connectors that hook to your tail light. Took me about 30 min.
The hitch arrived a day earlier than promised, fit my 2005 RAV4 perfectly, and is relatively snug under the rear panel. It does not affect ground clearance. I only installed it yesterday, so have not tested its operation, but am convinced that it is solid and safe.

The trailer hitch appears to be well made, looking foward to making use of it.
At this time, the hitch can't be placed on the vehicle because the mounting bolts were not in the package. I had to make and additional phone call to request that a set be sent. Etrailer rep. took time to call the manufacture to request that the bolts be sent. Needless to say I was not happy.
Just install the hitch and wiring harness on my RAV4. Took an hour and half. I ordered the product Tuesday. Arrived Wednesday. Installed on Thursday. For something that seems hard was extremely easy and I saved money doing it myself. Wish everything went this smooth. Thank you!

All around good experience, with etrailer putting together excellent suggestions for all needed parts for a DIY trailer installation specifically for my vehicle. Very fast shipment. Adequate instructions included for the reasonably experienced do-it-yourselfer. Everything worked as expected. My only complaint would be that one end of the hitch was somewhat exposed during shipping resulting in some chips in the powder coating. That was probably the carrier's fault, but some better wrapping would have helped, too.
Receiver hitch was exactly as advertised. It fit perfectly and installation only took about 15 min. Thanks to you for excellent service when ordering and to DrawTite for a good product.
