With the 2 receivers that you get with the SuperHitch, you can tow a trailer and carry a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. And if you have a truck bed camper, this hitch has pre-drilled mounting points for TorkLift's super-sturdy camper tie-towns (sold separately). You can also add one of TorkLift's SuperTruss hitch extensions (sold separately) to extend the top receiver of the SuperHitch so that it clears your camper, allowing you to tow your trailer while your camper's installed.

Truck Bed Camper Compatibility

TorkLift is known for their truck camper tie-down systems and other camper accessories, so it just makes sense that they would have camper enthusiasts in mind when designing a trailer hitch. Each SuperHitch is built with integrated mounting points for TorkLift camper tie-downs, making it easier than ever to get a quality tie-down system for your slide-in camper.

TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

The dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch also makes it easy to tow with your truck bed camper in place. The SuperTruss line of high-capacity hitch extenders is specially designed to extend the hitch receiver back far enough to clear your bed-mounted camper, while still allowing for an excellent towing capacity. An ordinary hitch extender can dramatically reduce your towing capacity. But each SuperTruss extension forms such a solid connection with the SuperHitch that the setup is able to maintain one of the highest weight capacities in the industry. When used with a standard weight distribution system, the setup can maintain up to a 10,000-lb weight limit, even with an extension that is 60" long. As a result, you can clear almost any truck bed camper and still do some heavy-duty towing.

Dual Receivers for Maximum Versatility

With the SuperHitch from TorkLift, you can tow your trailer and use a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. This is thanks to the dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch.

Most trailer hitches have a single receiver. Typically, you can find an adapter or extension piece that will slide into your hitch to give you 2 receivers, but these adapters dramatically reduce both your towing capacity and your tongue weight, limiting how much you can tow, as well as how much you can carry with a bike rack or cargo carrier. This SuperHitch, which mounts beneath your factory hitch receiver to provide the dual receivers, is specially constructed to maintain a high weight capacity so that you can use the 2 receivers without sacrificing towing or carrying ability. Video Transcript for TorkLift Trailer Hitch - Custom Fit Hitch - TLD1102 Review

Today we're going to review part number TLD1102. This is the TorkLift SuperHitch Class V Original Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is hitch receiver is a custom fit design. It is designed to fit the 2003 to 2012 Dodge/Ram 2500 and 3500 HD Series in either the long or the short bed and it is designed for the Rams with the factory installed hitch. The way this hitch is designed is it's made to work with the factory installed hitch to get you the dual hitch design. This is specially designed heavy duty hitch, which will allow you to maintain your high capacities when used with the TorkLift accessories like the TorkLift hitch extension or the weight distribution system, which we do sell separately. Again, when you mount this on to your Dodge/Ram it will bolt up, this part right here will bolt upright under your factory hitch, so your factory hitch will be right above this one so it will give you the dual, vertically stacked hitch receivers that will let you tow a trailer and use a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. The hitch receiver is compatible with industry-standard ball mounts and hitch accessories.

Another nice feature on this hitch it is a truck-camper-friendly design and the reason that is is if you put a camper on your truck bed and by chance it happens to extend over the back of the bed and your hitch is sort of hidden underneath, you can add a TorkLift SuperTruss extension, which we also sell separately. That will allow you to install in here and extend your hitch receiver out to clear the bed-mounted camper. Those extensions come in the range of 21" to 60". The nice thing about those SuperTruss extensions is when they're installed properly and hooked up properly. They will not reduce any of your weight capacities like some of your hitch extensions do.

They will maintain the full weight capacity. This hitch is a sturdy steel construction with a high-penetration, dual-shield welding, which will ensure strength and durability. Another nice feature is right around the hitch pin holes on each side here. It's hard to see with this plate on top but it is reinforced and hardened around the hitch pin hole and the reason they do that is when you install the hitch pin through there, on both sides being hardened and reinforced it will protect it from elongating that hole, because lots of times when you'd be towing is the movement of the shank in the hitch receiver will move back and forth and overtime would elongate those hitch pin holes. They took that into consideration and they ended up putting the reinforcement around the hitch pin holes. It's a very nice feature. This is a bolt-on installation.

As you can see for demonstration here I do have the end plates bolted on that are used to mount to your Dodge/Ram. One of the nice features on that is I want to show you on this . the bolts, there's 4 bolts on each side that attach the end plates to this cross tube. I just want to show you the bolts they use. If you look real closely they actually have a spline shoulder; a little bit thicker shoulder with splines on it.

The reason they do that and they are all grade 8 bolts; when you go in you just tap that in to get it started, then when you put your nut on to torque it down, as you torque it down it will pull this bolt and those splines into that end plate and the cross member and it secures the bolt to those pieces, so it doesn't rotate or have the chance of rotating in there. It's a very nice feature they put on there. This does have a nice black powder coat finish that will help resist corrosion. You can see right down here it has the holes in it; these are the safety chain loops. They're built-in that way you can attach your safety chains to. It does come with the 2 Hitch pins and the clips. It comes with the mounting hardware, the instructions, everything you need to install it onto your Dodge/Ram. This is custom fit for your vehicle. It is made in the USA. The receiver opening on this is 2". I'm just going to put a measurement on there to give you an idea; 2". Again this has a rating of a Class V and what that means is as far as capacities, the maximum gross trailer weight capacity is 15,000 lbs; maximum tongue weight capacity is 1,500 lbs. If you do us it with weight distribution it will increase to the gross trailer weight of 17,000 lbs and the tongue weight of 1,700 lbs. The dimensions on this cross tube is going to be 3-1/2" square, this way and that way. It does come with a lifetime warranty. That should do it for the review on part number TLD1102, the TorkLift SuperHitch Class V Original Trailer Hitch Receiver. .

Parts showed up faster tha expected, and in good condition.Thankfully I had help for the install, this is one heavy unit. All in all I am very pleased with with this hitch. All so the how to install videos were very helpful. 364788

Solid product and pretty easy to install. I did have a Hellwig Big Wig anti-sway bar and Torklift camper tie-downs installed, so the end link brackets and tie-downs had to come off and attach to the new hitch brackets. The new brackets and hardware make you able to install the end links back into place, but it is not the best as it pushes the link to the side and there isn't really a washer to put back against the bushing in the kit. I installed it by myself in my driveway in about 3 hours total with removing old brackets. If there was anything I'd knock on this kit was the packaging, which leads to breaking out of the box during shipping. The bottom of the box was worn all the way through and the powdercoating was knocked off of the ends of the hitch plates, so not really happy about that part. Other things in the box are double packaged, so at least another layer of cardboard or 2 would probably cure this issue. Not etrailer's fault obviously. 225075

Hitch is still working great, no issues with camper, towing, etc. Would use the same product again without question.

The only problem we had with installing the product was the unclear possibly inaccurate instructions describing the bolt length to use. Other wise went in fairly easily. 639198

- TLD1102

Very stout product. Thanks etrailer for prompt shipping. Needed to grind the excess rear backside of the OEM factory receiver tube a bit...normal factory variability. I run a Hellwig sway bar; didn’t like the links running off one side of a bolt, so welded in 5/16" 90-degree brackets to get a double shear, like the Hellwig mounts. 616569

I cannot place an actual review on this product as I never installed it. In talking to the installers here, they informed me that I would have to 'beef up the truck frame ' as the forces applied by the extension kit would be more than my truck was designed for. The cost was prohibitive. The item is still in the shipping box in storage, along with the extension kit. I didn't attempt to return it because the error was mine. If I had done the proper research, I would not have bought it. It was a very expensive error on my part. 435906

  • Based on your picture the linkage from the frame to the sway bar would be in the way for Curt trailer hitch # C15409. But not to worry because there is a hitch that accounts for a Hellwig sway bar for a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with factory hitch. It is the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum # TLD1102-30 and it is a beast. It has a 2-1/2 inch receiver and is rated for an astonishing 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight (30K when used with Everest weight distribution). I have linked the instructions in...

This hitch is only designed to fit a Dodge Ram 3500 from 1994-2002. Instead, I recommend using the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1101 if you do not have a factory hitch or part # TLD1102 if you do have a factory hitch.
