I thought I had selected the correct Curt receiver and was ready to place an order online, but I decided to call instead. Ashley advised this receiver was the correct one for my bumper. She saved a lot of headache on my part avoiding order the incorrect product. The receiver actually delivered a day earlier than planned. I am impressed with the quality of the product and am planning on an install this weekend, then putting it to work. I will definitely shop etrailer again in the future. From the website, selection of products, knowledgeable associates and fast shipping, I made a good decision shopping here. 679523

1970 GMC C/K Series Pickup

Got my new hitch late last night. I was so glad to get it I had to put it together right then. Its going to be a perfect fit. The hitch is very well built. Very surprised I could find a hitch for a 1970 GMC. I will be pulling my 27 ft Toy hauler after a little more restoration work. Always happy with Etrailer. I'll post more pics when I have it on and hooked up to my trailer 751594

Fits nicely right under a 10 inch drop bumper on my 97 F-250 HD. Was able to leave the spare tire under there, though I had to grind the latching system a bit to have it fit just right. It is very visible from the sides of the truck along the sides of the frame because of how much it has to drop, but it is not very visible from the rear for those that care about aesthetics. 812261

This hitch went on my 84 K30 Chevy. Very easy once you remove the spare tire and carrier. Way heavy duty but very easy to install. No complaints with hitch whatsoever. The hitch was delivered in a cardboard box that had seen its better days. Box was busted open in several areas but the anvil type quality of the hitch didn't effect it at all. May have been the shipper fault but none the less. 795461

Ask the Experts about this Curt Trailer Hitch

  • Curt Hitch Bolt Holes Will Not Line Up on 1998 Chevy K3500
So there's one of two things going on here if your Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15511 isn't lining up properly on your 1998 Chevy K3500 pickup. The first possibility, and the most likely, is that the hitch was slightly bent, or "flexed" during shipping. This is unfortunately common but also relatively easily remedied; I have added a link to a help article entitled "My Trailer Hitch Doesn't Fit" for you to check out which has solutions. The other possibility is that you have...

  • Hitch Solution for 1999 Ford F-250 with Deep Drop Bumper
The Curt hitch you mentioned is more of a multi fit hitch and would not be the best choice for your truck, but we do have a couple options. The closest fitting, but still probably not close enough would be the # 37133 which has it's hitch opening 7-1/4 inches down below the frame mounting surface. This isn't quite enough though as you'd need 1/8 of an inch more. The # C15316 does drop a bit more than what you'd need but it's going to be best fitting option. Other choice you have would...

  • Curt 3-Piece Hitch Does Not Fit a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
The Curt 3-Piece Hitch, part # C15511, is a confirmed fit for only one style of the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500: the Cab and Chassis style. There are two additional styles of the 3500: the Standard Pickup and the Pickup with a 10 Inch Deepdrop Bumper. Unfortunately, if you have either of the Pickups, this hitch will not fit. Whichever you have, you can return the 3-Piece and get the correct hitch for your Silverado. If you have the Standard Pickup, I recommend getting the Curt...

  • Possible Hitch fit for 1998 Chevy K3500 Cab and Chassis with Dump Bed
I really wish we could guarantee a hitch fit but since you have the dump bed and the tank there isn't a way we can verify any of our fits. The Curt # C15511 does fit your 1998 Chevy Cab and Chassis frame and has an 8 inch drop from the hitch tube to the frame attachment point and 6 inches down to crossbeam which would be our best possible option.

  • Measurement of Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch C15511 from End of Mounting Flange to Receiver Tube
I was able to obtain from Curt a chart showing key dimensions for their 3-Piece Trailer Hitch # C15511 (and other hitch models) that I linked for you. This shows that for hitch # C15511 the overall front-to-back length is just under 24-inches. The height from the top of the mount down to the top of the receiver tube is 8-inches.

  • Recommended 15K Hitch For 1997 Ford F-250 With 34 Frame
The only option that provides 15,000 gross towing weight capacity is the Curt Class V Receiver Hitch - 1997 Ford F-250 and F-350 Heavy Duty part # C15511 which is designed for the 34" frame but is also a universal fit hitch so there is drilling into the frame required. All of the hitches available for this truck do require some drilling so this is your best option.

  • Compatibility of a Hitch for a 1972 Chevrolet K Series Truck
The Curt # C15511 hitch is the confirmed fit for a 1972 Chevrolet K Series truck if you have the 8 foot bed and the deep drop rear bumper. The measurement from the top of the tube to the mounting flange is 8-1/32 inches. The extended length was to make sure the hitch would clear the bumper. If you have the standard bumper, then the Curt Hitch # C14082 is the confirmed fit. If # C15511 can be installed on the standard bumper model, then there will be a large gap between the bumper...

  • Possible Trailer Hitch Fit for 1958 Chevy Apache
The frame dimensions you listed for your truck are pretty standard for cab and chassis style trucks since you said 34 inches from outside to outside on the frame. While we don't have anything custom fit for your truck we do have hitches like the # C15511 which is designed to fit that frame dimension and is designed to fit below a deep drop bumper so it would easily clear your bumper as well.

  • Trailer Hitch Needed for a 1997 Ford F-350 Heavy Duty with a Deep Drop Bumper
The Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15511 that you referenced is a great option for the deep drop bumper on your 1997 Ford F-350 Heavy Duty. The Draw-Tite # 41504 is a little more cost-effective but it also requires the use of the adapter kit # 01685 and it doesn't have as high of a weight rating. We do have a selection of camper tie-downs that you can install on your F-350. If you let me know what the size of your truck bed is and if you have a board or step I can make a recommendation...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For 1978 Chevrolet C10 Pickup Truck
We do have trailer hitches that do not require drilling for installation, but they are only designed for a 1978 truck with a deep drop bumper. If you have a deep drop bumper I recommend part # C15511. This is a Class V hitch and it has a 2-inch receiver opening. If you have a standard bumper on your truck, the trailer hitch I recommend is part # C14082. Installation of this hitch does require three holes to be drilled into the frame for each side. If you plan on doing some towing...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 1989 Ford F-250
Due to the weight of your trailer, you are going to want to install a frame mounted trailer hitch on your 1989 Ford F-250. The weight capacity of the trailer is going to far exceed the weight capacity of the bumper as I am sure you have already figured out. They also do not make any sort of kit to strengthen the rear bumper to my knowledge therefore the frame mounted trailer hitch will be your best option. For this, I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511. This...

  • Correct Curt Trailer Hitch for 1994 Chevy 3500 Pickup with Cowboy Bumper
The Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15511 is designed for cab and chassis models of the 1994 Chevy 3500 pickups. From what I could find it looks like your Cowboy Bumper is the 10" deep drop bumper so you'll want the Curt Class V Hitch # C15317 instead. This has bolt holes that are spaced 34-3/8" apart on center so you'd actually be measuring to the center of the mounting locations instead of the outside of your frame. The installation instructions have been linked for you to check out.

I might have a solution for you, but we don't have custom hitches for ambulances. I spoke to my contacts at Curt and Reese and the only styles of hitches that can be made to fit a service body (ambulance) truck like yours are multi-fit RV hitches like the # 41990 that has a 16k capacity. Thank you for the photo! What you have there is a deep drop or "cowboy" bumper. So, for a 2 inch trailer hitch that is confirmed to fit your 1989 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat with the deep drop bumper, I recommend the Curt # C15511. This 3-piece trailer hitch receiver is specially designed for heavy-duty towing. The drop of the B & W Class V # BWHDRH25198 is 7-3/8 inches. That represents the distance from the underside of the frame member where the hitch mounts to the top of the receiver tube. If that isn't sufficient to clear your bumper, the Curt Class V # C15511 has an 8 inch drop. The bottom of the receiver tube would be 3 inches lower than that for either hitch. Therefore, if the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13028 does not clear the rear bumper on your 1966 Chevrolet C10 then your only other option is to use the Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511.
